By that I mean, played as good as we are ever going to see, and will be no better than they were so far this season. You have to consider age, experience, adjusting with a new team, surrounding play, etc, etc.

I cannot name a one. Carpenter, maybe. Wake, possibly but, I think he has one more level he can climb.

For me, this is a very good thing for our future.

Maybe Davone Bess, but thats about it.

Still a couple of years out before we see a lot of players getting into their prime.

I forgot about Bess. He may be the best slot WR in the NFL. Even with him, I think he has another notch to climb.

How good can some of these guys be when they get to Prime Time? Gonna be some fun to watch.

I would pick Hartline and Smith as the ones who are gonna surprise us.

Almost ironically, Jason Allen has like 6 picks up to this point.

Since starting out the year slowly I think Brian Hartline is playing the best football he's played since being drafted by us. Davone Bess probably is as well. As is Anthony Fasano. And Chad Henne. And Jake Long, prior to the torn labrum.

Vontae Davis and Sean Smith are both the best they've been as a Dolphin. As is Chris Clemons. And Cameron Wake. And Paul Soliai. And Tony McDaniel. Also Kendall Langford.

And I'll toss in Dan Carpenter and Brandon Fields, both of whom have never been better.

I think the OP meant, is this the best they'll ever play, who is in their prime?

I even have to disagee on those two. Both can play better.

This is a young roster. I don't know that you can say that any of these guys can't play better in the future.

That is pretty much my point. The game has not slowed down for MANY of our players. IF that light comes on for a Henne, a Hartline, a Misi, a Smith, a Langford, a Davis, a Jerry, a Clemmons, etc, we could well be a scary team.

It is unlikely this will happen with many this season but, stranger things have happened.

This is why I still hold on to a glimmer of hope for the playoffs.

There is still a lot of room for growth with this young team. But there are some serious questions coming up in the near future such as runningback and maybe TE and Center.

Cameron Wake undoubtedly has played his best football and I think Carpenter has as well. Bess was at that level until recently along with Vontae Davis.

Jake Long, prior to the injury has been lights out. Best LT in the game.

Paul Soliai, no question in my mind anyway, we also have several players who have large upsides but are playing average ball imho.

Watch, Vontae is talking up hooking up with his Brother in the bay area, the last time that happened was prior to the Ravens game.

Did not turn out to well.

You would think if Soliai was doing so great
our team wouldn't be 20th against the run
when we were top 5 last season

    Or:

You'd think if Soliai was doing so great is the reason why we are #5 vs the pass this year, last yr we were #24.

CK, That's a lot of guys who have gotten better. Think coaching may have had a little bit to do with it? :)

I had him as a ascending player this offseason, then I saw some tape during the preseason that made me want to sign him long term, this was when a lot of people were debating me on him making the team, and being in the rotation.. I had him projected as first off the bench for all position's in the 34. This dude is versatile, very strong, and has excellent balance..

I also think we made a mistake by not projecting him correctly and resigning him early, I believe he is fully gonna test the market.

While Fergie played 9 games and was injured on the last play in the 3rd quarter against Carolina teams averaged 103.3 yards per game with Fergie at nose tackle.

As soon as Fergie was replaced we allowed 131.6 yards per game

Now if that difference doesn't stand out for you...

They tried Deej, he turned down their offer, as did Soliai and Thigpen, in their defense the Dolphins do lowball their resigning offers.
