Ya, but at the same time Chalky screwed up the plan and they only captured those 3 instead of a large part of Rothstein's people.
I wish they would've worked part with Lansky a bit differently than the good ole' tell your boss what you saw. It was obviously known by watchers than Lansky had to live, so it should've been played out a bit diffferently IMO.
Well I don't think they were going to kill anyone but those morons couldn't be quiet. I think they wanted to show Nucky isn't unreasonable if you aren't a dick to him.
The best part was when he said, "Well I wasn't going to, but you talked me into it." Then shot the prick dead. I about fell on the floor with that one. And yes, Lansky and others who actually existed can't die, unless they want to go the Tarantino route and call it a fantasy (like he did with Inglorius Basterds). I do think it is a slower paced show, which works for this time piece and era. But I DO want to, at some point, see an epic blow up where poo hits the fan and someone goes on a killing spree. If done very, very rarely, it could work. As it was, I was happy with seeing someone finally get offed in the last episode. I remarked to my girlfriend before the episode that someone had to die and die soon or else it was going to lose fans.
Season Finale is next week. I enjoyed last night's episode as it set up a lot of what should be explosive conclusions next week. Jimmy knowing that his wife was trying to leave him, only to be unsuccessful was a nice progression, as was the storyline with his father. And now we know why his mom is so hot for being his mom...she was only 13 when she had him. Also, Nucky's world seems to be getting awfully close to collapsing in on itself. With him essentially firing his own brother as sherriff, his girl walking out on him and everything else, it should be fun to see how his story ends for the season. I am going to go ahead and guess that it ends with him standing over a tremendous cluster of a situation heading into next season.
