http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/content/sports/epaper/2008/04/23/0423stoda.html If he turns out anything like Webb we are gonna have a great LT/Bodyguard for a long time. No pun intended but it does work quite nicely
Nice read, sure would be nice if he turns out to be the next Richmond WEbb thats for sure. Im gettin excited already!
Anyone ever use the, "click to listen"? Man the dude sounds like he's underwater. As for the read, I hope Jake talks to Richmond. Obviously the guy knows a thing or two about the position and what it's like to have such high expectation at the LT position as a Rookie.
Webb couldn't run-block; Long can't pass-block. Between the two of them you have one All-World Offensive Tackle!
At least there is a chance Long can become a good pass blocker.I am sure this regime is counting on it and they have the credentials to make it happen.
Thanks Nabo, that's exactly what I was thinking. There are still a lot of IFs that come into play concerning our offensive line, QB play and running backs due to injuries. With Hennings philosophy of run first and run often this complement of players should bode well for a young QB to learn on the fly until the OL gells and pass protection gets ironed out. I think they are going to be fun to watch, if a dominate running game is what flips your switch. As it does mine.
Very true. I'll never forget the game when Webb's lack of run blocking was most apparent. The 1994 AFC Championship game against the chargers. Miami tried running the ball out of their own endzone and the play resulted in a safety. That was the beginning of Miami's collapse in that game.
