Our team has given the Network a lot of good stuff this week after going cross country, and getting punched in the face on an opening 101 yard TD return. Then, all they did was KICK THE RAIDER'S *** for the rest of the game in a BIG WIN. I'll start with Henne's "almost" impersonation of Marino, leg brace and all. Then, I have to add Bess, aka Divine Best, for this game. I can go on, & on, & on. However, I would like to see how many posts we can come up with "Good News" performances from individual players and coaches? It's been a long time sice we've had this opportunity. Hell, Henning may even get a post. Next?
Chad henne and Bess are pretty much the go to guys this week. These two have a ridiculous rapport with each other. Bess has not clicked with either Pennington or Thigpen the way he seems to with Henne.
ronnie and ricky looked really good. There were times the line didn't do much and they still created some yards. and one most will disagree with me about I personally liked the looks they were giving thigpen yeah the package didn't work, but all the talk about being conservative and when something new is tried people still ***** and moan.
Our defense caught the ball...twice! And YB with both the INT and fumble recovery. Good things happen when you hustle.
Brandon Marshall wasn't trying to hog the air. Despite, Dan Henning's best efforts to keep the ball out of the endzone, Henne and the running game got on a roll after the 1st Qtr, and we scored almost by accident on a few plays. A "#1 receiver" can be manufactured by good QB play. Special teams made adjustments and didn't almost cost us the game.
Special Teams bouncing back, Ford had that TD, but afterwards they did a good job stifling him inside the 20yd line. Bess had a good return as well
Defense held them to 10 pts(3 return Td's this yr), quietly Nolan's defense is getting better, lost in last week's loss to the Bears the still scored what 16 pts?
''Divine Bess''....Thats good man....maybe even better then my self appointed ''Black ninja''.. Iam noticing him starting to look into the eyes of a defender when he is running his route, your toast when he does that kinda sh$#...The dude is relentless..and perfection personified when it comes to his craft... Paul solai was immovable....sign that mother grabber.. Cam wake can run a 4.5 40...book it...i watched him track jacoby ford from a bad starting position. Ive been hard on Big Vern so I'll give him a shout out, he made the seal block to spring Ricky. Dobbins filled some holes with authority.... The return of the wildcat...about time...thats another thread..lol
I would like to see more of Moore, that kid has a burst you saw on the TD and on the reverse that was called back.
I think the two things that I have taken out of this season are: 1. We have a NT in Solia. He has steadily improved over the past two seasons and is getting to the point that he dominates at times. 2. We do not need a FS. Clemons and Jones have shown me enough that I am finally comfortable with that position going forward. I think Clemons has a great nose for the ball... He is always in the area. If he learns how to finish the plays (hang on to the ball) he is going to be a dominate FS (IMO).
i don't think it was so much the packages with thiggy that upset me as more it was the "when" they used them.henne was getting into a groove passing and just made a real nice 19 yrd pass a few plays bfore that and they took him out for the 3rd and 12 which you could tell upset henne as he was walking to the sideline he started to say something to sporano but tony cut him off before he could. and wtf?really a qb draw on 3rd and 12? come on henning asve those for when we are down on the goalline or a few inches short. and i don't know if i agree with southbeach that we took it to them..we let them hang in there for most of the game. was anyone else scratching thier head after that penalty that had us at 2nd and 18 only to give up and play for the field goal..2 back to back runs and kick the fieldgoal..that my friend was as conservative as it gets.
