If our defense could catch the damn ball they'd be top 5 and maybe a top 3 defense. I'm not sure as to why the always drop balls, but it must stop.

And finyank, Hillis scares me. lol

That is one of the problems with big backs fy, they soak up a ton of hits and that takes a toll.

Prior to this season, Hillis was largely known for having the WC designed for him at Arkansas, and being constantly injured.

Hillis and Jacobs are different backs. They have the same build but the two have differing styles.

Yeah, but you can't use stats in a vacuum, as it makes an inference that we're the only team that has given up points on pick 6's and special teams. In fact, I can recall 2 Brees passes being returned for TD's by David Bowens a few weeks ago, which would lower their true "defensive" total.

You bring up a great point. What do Crennel, Weiss, and Nolan have in common? All are GREAT coordinators .... and lousy head coaches. Some are just meant to be that, and that's that.

Perhaps, because of this, we'll be able to hold onto Nolan a little longer than we think? I don't see Crennel or Weiss getting any HC offers anytime soon either!

Exactly, which is a part of the reason why it can be said the defense has given up fewer points than the Stats say, and is playing better, but other teams have such factors as well.

killerphins...you keep trying to pat yourself on the back for your crusade against JT. It's not like people were saying that JT was a world beater, or that we don't need youth on the team. You were simply saying to dump them cause they were old...and people were disagreeing with that idea. Just cause someone gets old doesn't mean that they aren't useful. Do you really think that JT wouldn't be successful here opposite from Cam Wake? I think he would be.

I never liked Moses really but I've seen him make a few more plays this season. As for Taylor he just stunts growth at this point. We didn't need an egotistical pretty boy here. This defense is blue collar and physical. Who needs an aging finesse guy. I would have rather kept Roth at his age. At least he was developing and brings mental toughness.

I think we can collectively look back and reflect at this time and agree that we don't miss Jason Taylor.
And quit ramming Moses down my throat. I thought all the linebackers sucked here last season except for Wakes potential but you have to start somewhere and that somewhere is not with Jason Taylor obviously.

    i think we cannot.

It is all about upgrading positions, Jason taylor is obviously an upgrade over Moses. Moses does get plays in. Miami would be better if Taylor was in instead of Moses.

Eh, still think we could have used him this year, keep in mind he did a good job setting the edge and his 4 sacks with the team in puke green actually leads them..

    3rd and 12, I'd prefer JT to Q across from Wake..just sayin'.

He's not here give it up man. You player fans are all the same. You don't understand how the business of football works. They didn't want Taylor because he has no future. We want to move on from the ties of a washed up veteran player. Not to mention the ego souring the young guys. Nolan his a pretty good judge of what he wants on defense and he didn't want him. I'll take his judgement over some internet GM everyday, all day.

i am a fan of the miami dolphins and as a fan of the miami dolphins letting him go was a mistake, even with the business of football.

you are just some guy who has a problem with jason taylor. Trying to act like I do not know what I am talking about is just showing how flimsy your argument is.

My argument is flimsy because I'm moving on with the team we have... the players Nolan wanted. You're living in a world of hypotheticals and what might have been. I live in reality and the reality is that Jason Taylor doesn't play for the Dolphins anymore.

    There it is...... The crux!

As a football move, it was probably a mistake Kp, imo we have needed a passrusher across from Wake for the last month, which is why I've pimped everyone from A Thomas to Wally Ogunlaye.

No, I didnt say we should have kept him. I said that he could have been useful this year. There is a difference. You just don't get rid of older players simply because they are old, if they are better than a player on the team who has no future...like Moses. Or Dobbins. I would rather have JT here than either one of those guys.

JT has done nothing for the Jets in a month and a half, Dobbins and Moses have played well for us.

The Jets biggest problem is they cannot rush the passer straight up, they have to use blitz packages. When Taylor was playing well, he got to the passer by himself.

It was a no brainer letting him go.

That does not make any sense. What you wrote has nothing to even do with the argument. You're argument is flimsy because you keep on changing your point. I am not living in the past. I have moved on and I am cheering my team. I still have opinions about what miami should have done.

With your new flimsy argument there is no point in discussing any move the Dolphins have ever made. All player moves are in the past.

When Crowder came back Dobbins moved to ST's and recovered which is why he played better imho.

JT doesn't play much defense either, keep trying.

The Jets have not been happy with his play at all, paint it anyway you want it, but you can't make him play better than he has.

Dobbins last 4 games, 11 tackles and a sack

Taylor last 4 games 7 tackles and a sack

Shall we compare him with Wake and Misi over the last 4 games also?

The #6 defense in the NFL couldn't stop the Bears.

Can't remember which team it was, but earlier this year we played a team that didn't have to punt once.

They were 10/18 on 3rd downs though. We had, what, 3 drives in the first half?

It's great that we didn't lose 40-0, but discussing point deltas seems quite the pyrrhic victory. We were still shut out while they were converting over 50% on 3rd downs.

the defense held their own in that Bears game. If you recall it was 3-0, then. 6-0. then 9-0. They were forcing FG's in a winnable game. Henning spaced out and called the game like we were down by 14 the whole way.

If Nolan wanted JT on this team they could have signed him. Is that too tough for you to understand. Whether you think he could be productive or not is an assumption and totally irrelevant. I think the coaches may know a little more about the situation than you do. You come here and try to sell me on something I'll never believe. I've been through this Taylor stuff a million times and I'm dug into the sand. They didn't want Taylor here because he is an old player who does nothing for the future of the defense. They want to be young and vibrant. He doesn't give you that. I'm sorry it pisses you off but once again that is the crux. Now you can keep discussing it as much as you want but that will never change because your opinion doesn't matter to the men who make the decisions or to me.

Could be the Bears are good team after all, did you see them dismantle the Eagles in Philly?

Bears were looked on as frauds by a lot of people, myself including, turns out they are good team after all, even with a garbage Oline.
