Well, somewhat standard Wakian Fare, "on the couch"..."hungry to improve" he is getting his stock lines down for the media at least.

    Larger point to me is:

-Joey Porter thought Wake was not going to do well, in contrast to Jason Taylor who even though he was a Jest said Wake would make us forget him and tbh, he largely has.

-the experience he gained in the CFL really helped him to transition to the NFL because it expanded his viewpoint, he was in another country and had a far tougher go of things than the typical even rook 7th rd pick in the NFL.

The last point is why imho these rush ends who just do not cut in the NFL should take a shot in the CFL as a chance to kick start their careers back up, when CFL to NFL to CFL jumper Ricky Foley signed back in the CFL he had to take 2 weeks to get back into CFL game shape because the game is just much much faster.

Playclock is 25 seconds, and 3 downs means the defense can get a stop and be back on the field in about a minute on a 2 incomplete pass then punt series and though they do run the 4-3 in the CFL typically they only carry 6 dlinemen and do not use as heavy rotations which means Dlinemen see far more snaps in the CFL than in the NFL.

That tests player's desire to play.

Do not know if we will see any CFLers in Dolphins minicamp this year but Wake shows it can be done.

wake wont have to see Porter in Hawaii for any further confrontation.

I remember beginning of last year I started a thread that asked, if after 2 preseason games and seeing what we saw, I considered him a first round draft pick if he was to enter the draft with the preseason tape that he put down,he was that Impressive to me..

his flash was so vivid then and all thru the season, Pro bowl was an easy projection on the player.

This year ive been most impressed with his overall game....I bet he can run a 4.5

Yup...... and now he's looking not only like a 1st rounder, but arguably a top 15 pick. IMO he's an example of how important traits like heart, determination, conditioning, motivation, and "the light coming on" are to the game that often go overlooked during the draft.

Once a guy hits the field it really doesn't matter though ya know?

That is what I liked about Wake, he just wanted a opportunity to play in the NFL and was focused on the Dolphins from Day 1 as he thought we were the best fit for him.

added to that...... Wake never being satisfied despite JT & Porter hitting the road and winning the starting role. No matter how good he gets, he still seems to be insatiable..... like if he reaches 16 sacks, then it won't be good enough for him unless he reaches 20 the following year..... and 22 the year after that.

I give Ireland a lot of credit for getting him. Wake's improvement against the run just blows my mind! He hasn't had a chance to prove himself in coverage yet but the dude is a legitimate monster!

Hopefully he goes to the pro-bowl. I hope he gets a big push from the area fans. He is a beast.

There is but one "Beast" on this team. And, his name is Cameron Wake!

In all seriousness, props to Ireland and the scouting department for snagging this cat. Not only did they uncover a true "acorn", but it helps offset picks like White and Turner when you do cultivate guys like Wake and Bess from virtual obscurity.

    Go Phins! :marble:

Yeh...it would be one thing if Wake was a one trick pony....and as long as he got to the QB, that would be fine...but he really has developed into overall one hell of a LB. I dare not say it....but really...you could be looking at something seriously special....

I also think its something, although, maybe some will disagree, but you can really see how much time Wake has put into his game that isnt just getting to the QB...and since sacks are what make the highlight reels...its good to see that his mind isnt just about making highlights....its about becoming the complete player.

    Whats his contract status again?

He's also drawing holding calls like their going out of style. How many did he draw in the bears game alone. Refs now notice him on every play.
