It is amazing to read his updates compared to the other beat writers. Almost all of them are self-centered about how HE predicted a player was good or how HE told us something would work. Very little substance that doesn't involve some sort of advertisement for himself.

Not to mention his monthly "Whoa is me people called me mean names on Twitter" rampage.

I wish he'd get a separate personal account and UM account. I know many of his followers are UM fans but those of us that are not could care less how many times he talks about the culture at the U.

He's wrong about one thing, PFF's ratings are not adjusted "per snap" as he says.

There's an extremely high correlation between the magnitude of a rating (either positive or negative) and the number of snaps the player has gotten. The way PFF does their stuff they just tally everything. The more snaps you've had the better chance you have of rasing your already positive rating even higher, or lowering your already negative rating even more.

He pointed out that Misi did it in 280 fewer snaps as a means of trying to say that Misi's high rating could be due to sample size. But in reality he was inadvertently pointing out that Koa Misi did not need those 280 snaps extra at-bats to get such a high rating.

I think you guys just like to feel slighted. A few comments about his opinion on a player isn't an "agenda". He only brings up Misi when asked, and recites facts about snaps.

His opinion on whether the guy is meeting expectations or not is his opinion. We, here, can't even agree on what we feel about Dolphin players - you expect to agree with every beat guy out there?

What I don't understand is, if you don't like the guy - why follow him? I don't care for Salguero and don't care what he thinks about any Dolphins player. So I don't follow or read him.

The difference is though Ck, he assumes extra plays means less production, the exact OPPOSITE of the approach that was given to Cam Wake in 09.

With Wake it was "he has 4 sacks why isn't he playing more!" but with Misi it is "he has 4 sacks, but play him more and he will be even worse!"

Wake had 5.5 in 09 and he was a daemon, Misi has 4 and it's..he is a limited player?

That is nonsensical, the more I think about that how that conclusion could be drawn makes no sense at all if anything Omark should be advocating for more snaps for Misi..that dude is a chuckle head..

The difference is one player(WAKE) was averaging 12 or so plays per game and Misi gets that many plays in less than 1 quarter.

There are 280 snaps on defense that did not include Koa Misi so it is not like he is never leaving the field.

Hmm, snap counts are not mentioned though, I'd think Koa would be right around...300 snaps..maybe?

And his pressure numbers are still really good, not Wake good, however he does register pressures at a strong pace.

Misi has averaged 38 snaps a game through the first 10 games.

He's averaged 17 pass rush snaps opportunities per game. In 2009, Wake averaged 13.4 of those.

380 snaps, 170 prush chances, 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, how many pressures does he have so far?

For the most part i like Omar.

Does he always give great in insightful info??? lol no. He is around the team more then any of us and he does toss out a few things we wouldn't know other wise.

To me his biggest flaw is him being a fan of the team he covers....that and he's a bit of a dork lol.

I think what some fans and Kelly forget is that he is a second round rookie conversion from DE to OLB. Is it that ****ing hard to believe he has room to improve and he needs some time? For goodness sakes the guy is the 9th best OLB in the NFL as a ROOKIE!

For me, I think he is doing fine Slowmo, would like to see a few things from him but otherwise afaik he is the most productive OLB from the 2010 linebacker/DE class with B Graham coming close to his production along with Jason Worilds.

Objectivity in the South Florida sports media died years ago, even before Armando Salguero and Jason Cole high fived each other.

All through camp Omar wouldn't even refer to him by name. He clearly has a problem with him. Why? I haven't the foggiest idea.

There’s probably some insight to be gleamed from Kelly’s comments about Matt Roth this week.

Misi damn near picked off the ball on the short side of the field. Had a tackle for a loss.
I'm not sure why having this kid is a rub... Even if he ultimately moves inside.

Omar is/has/always will be a giant douche bag. I had a multiple email argument with him about a player no longer on our roster a few years ago and he proved himself to be an idiot and an ego maniac.

Looking at his tweets, he has a hard on for the guy. He apparently has a bone to pick with the FO about letting him go. Apparently he believes the 2 spot difference in rankings between Roth and Misi is enough to warrant Parcell's head on a platter.

I really don't mind that Omar Kelly isn't convinced about Koa Misi. That's his opinion and he has a right to it.

The thing that rubs me wrong is that because his opinion is a certain way, he puts his slant on everything about Koa's work with the Dolphins. Like with this PFF stuff. He's quoting their ratings and rankings like they're the encyclopedia footballica. But when it comes to Koa Misi's being the #8 OLB behind his boy Matt Roth, somehow THAT particular ranking is wrong...because Misi's played however fewer snaps than Roth.

I mean on the one hand I see his point, the guy that is able to always stay on the field is more valuable than the guy that can't because there are situations you don't want him to be in. But on the other, he refuses to see that the way PFF sums up their ratings for players, the guy that plays more snaps is very likely to have a higher positive rating than the positive rating of the guy that plays fewer snaps. If you play more, you have more sacks, tackles, catches, yards, etc. That's how it goes. PFF's ratings system is not purely a per play efficiency rating. But if you tell Omar this (as I did), he's going to disregard it, because it doesn't fit what he thinks about Misi.

Granted it is his opinion, what bothers me is he never gives Misi credit for doing well, there is always a qualifier like "vultured" vs "ballhawk".

Well, to me this goes to his football knowledge, which is the product that he "sells" he can point to Misi not playing 280 snaps as it is a fact, however if Omark had bothered to compare Misi to the Broncos linebackers in 09 when Nolan was there, he would know that a heavy rotation was used, even with #1 pick Robert Ayers, and still Misi is easily outproducing Ayers this yr.

He can easily flip to 09 and notice the amount of snaps Ayers had and at least qualify his statement in a semi positive manner, but instead it is completely negative and with no context for comparison between Nolan in Denver and Nolan in Miami.

PLUS, Roth barely sniffed the field his first two years. I think Misi's ok.

6th ranked defense in the NFL, Misi is the second best passrusher on it, and yet OmarK is still sticking to his training camp view of Koa Misi,

That is why, to me, he has an ax to grind over Misi.

He basically alluded to on Twitter his opinion that Koa Misi is the weakest link on the defense. Someone asked him who he felt the weakest link was and he said he's not saying, because there are too many Twitter gangstas.
