That is the whole point. They DO GO. They are just in the founders lounge and dewars club at tipoff.

Our arena is packed around 10 minutes in.

and another thing....We have ridiculous security checks (I wonder why...) to get in. I MYSELF have missed TWO tipoffs this season, and it bothers me if I miss THE INTRO..much less the tipoff.

again..our fans are fine. Just a little laid back for my taste. But our 300 and 400 sections are rockin the game through...again..those rich morons are the ones that bother me.

Then why didn't the Cavs even try to replace James with someone who can score? The team is full of role players but no shooters or scorers, Gilbert appears happy to turtle up and blame James for everything that is going wrong.

Becaues LeBron waited for "the Decision" until over a week into free agency and there was no one left to replace him with? That is something people forget - LeBron waited until every one else had signed - so there was no one left.

And I'm not sure on the "no shooters" thing. Mo, Boobie and Parker are all GREAT shooters. Z and Jamison both are good shooters for big men.

If anything, we had too many shooters and not enough guys that could create points in the paint.

That is exactly Yankee Stadium nowadays...freaking sad really....back in the 80-90's even early to mid 2000's you use to have like bonifide mental cases sitting in the first 10 rows, now it is all suits...the home field, court, whatever you wanna call it is gone

This. The stadium hwas always been packed, especially on the weekends when most people go to the games. No one has time to go to a weeknight game. Well maybe in Cleveland because no one has a job.

Unemployment is higher in MIA than in CLE.

And I love this argument - "We have great fans! In the upper bowl...on weekends." True diehards, you are.

Whether you have great fans or not - the argument you are making is not very sound.

And I would think it would be opposite - weekends in MIA should be much better than CLE. During the week it should be an even playing field.

Great quote by Colin Cowherd, "When he left it was called 'The Decision'. Last night, it was 'The Validation'." LOL

For the record, I thought the crowd behaved well enough. The idiot who threw the battery and the few scuffles that occurred came off as a small minority. James handled it brilliantly and based on some of the emails coming in on "Mike and Mike", more of the Cleveland fans are starting to blame Gilbert for not putting more around James instead of blaming James. I also thought it was interesting that both mikes said their kids were rooting for James. The one Mike, who is the emotional girly one and a Jet's fan, has been thrashing James since the decision. Its also telling that Golic is from Ohio. Maybe that's a sign that the fans there are starting to get over it. Everybody has had that friend (or themselves) who gets dumped and spends too long blaming the dumper for everything. At some point they stop doing that and start accepting some of the blame themselves. That usually is the turning point where they stop being pathetic and grow up a bit. Maybe this game will signal the beginning of that stage for those fans that haven't been able to get over it.

Or, Gilbert could have pulled a sign and trade with the Heat....but he appeared pre-occupied with his little duck feelings and not the state of the franchise...imo.

He did get a sign and trade? We got a bunch of picks and a trade exception? That doesn't mean there was anyone available to replace James.

I'm confused on how a sign and trade with James would have replaced him. Who could they have replaced him with on July 10th?

To be honest I think the media played it up a bit as well. I mean sure the fans LAST NIGHT were intense and angry - but we really don't talk about LeBron that much. The city didn't take some HUGE HIT on the economy like everyone said and the fans still pack the arena.

I agree that LAST NIGHT the fans were brutal and obviously acting like a scorned lover - but the media narrative that CLE is like that all the time is simply not true.

As I've said before - the sports teams in this city sucked long before LeBron and will continue to suck long after. This city isn't going to burn down because of him.

Riles literally gave him away to the T-Wolves

The Lakers failed to sellout a game this year.

The Heat has commitments for sellouts for 4 years.

Cleveland fans are great. Cleveland fans are better than most cities as far as their passion and fervor go.

Fans can't change the city from being a run down, cold, economically challenged, shell of a metropolis though.

It's not fans that stop people from going to their teams.

And if they insisted on him, Riley would have just signed LeBron straight up. The Cavs were lucky to get anything in this situation, they were in no position to make demands.

I said earlier - selling out and having good fans are not the same thing. The fact that you are willing to admit that the lower bowl is full of non-fans who are in clubs rather than seats - and that the weekend games are the only ones that get rowdy isn't a strong argument.

If my argument is CLE fans > than MIA fans and your response it - "but the lower bowl is full of rich people who just sit in clubs" - how is that an argument in your favor? So the fans in your stadium aren't there making noise and acting like fans - wouldn't that make them worse fans?

LOL. I can tell by all the heat jersey on road game. Which totals to about 1 person per game. Heat game are sold out so much you can still get tickets to their next home game against Atlanta. There is tons available.

Those belong to season ticket holders dude. and the team holds out 500 seats every game that they promptly sell out.

The NBA uses a accounting firm to tabulate attendance from receipts. According to the NBA..the Heat has sold out every game this year and every game for the rest of the year. They have season ticket commitments for the next 4 which ensure 4 consecutive years of sellouts.

ALL OF THIS is verifiable with links. Go to ESPN or NBA and check the attendance figures.

The point is that the Heat signed LeBron as a free agent. What power did Gilbert have?

I don't understand this - first CLE can't be mad at Bron for leaving because he did it as a FA. NOW they suck because they didn't get anything for him when he left? They got way more than they should have considering they did'nt have to get anything.

So 20 games into the season Heat fans are greater then Lakers fan because of perfect attendance. LOL. That goes to show how Dwade sucks they wont even go see him play. It took the best NBA player in the league to sign with the Heat for Ticket Broker to swoop up all the season tickets. Everyone outside miami know how fair weather miami fans are.

And you still didn’t want LeBron to leave.

    Pick one.

You know the Heat got Bosh and James in sign-and-trade deals with the Raptors and Cavs respectively, right?

What does the fact that we had to build on the fly have to do with wanting him to leave? It wasn't ideal but it was still better than the alternative - I never said it was some horrible happening - just that it wasn't ideal. You are REALLY stretching there.

As for the sign and trade - please go back and read that conversation - Padre was saying Gilbert should have gotten more in the sign and trade. I was pointing out that LeBron had made his decision to go to Miami so the Cavs had no power to negotiate. If they took a firm stance, the Heat would have still gotten LeBron.

The Laker fans INVENTED the arrive late leave early "move".

    We are copying them.

When the Heat is good (LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE) They sellout.

I have seen the Boston Garden empty during 8th seed seasons for them.

But I will say this...in the playoffs and on Friday/Saturday night games...the AAA is LOUD and as intimidating a place for the opposition as ANY in the NBA.

Section - I've been a diehard Heat fan since the inception.. Since Rory Sparrow and Grant Long.. Heat fans have been in decline since we opened that emotionless Joe Robbie Stadium in a basketball stadium...

The AAA sucks.. The security to get in is a joke, almost as bad as going through customs at MIA... The concessions are understaffed, and the general feel of the arena is LAME...

Sorry bro, but I have to agree with the haters.. If I could go back in time and replace this new arena with the old Miami Arena and the 15,008 seats it held, I would do it in a SECOND. No BS Dewars, no DJ Irie, no garbage.. Just a loud arena full of true fans..

I'll be at the game on Saturday.. And if the fans don't give Lebron the loudest standing ovation of the season, I will be heavily disappointed... The man was amazing yesterday and we owe it to him as a city and as fans to return the favor.

    I just LOVE that place.

and it is not because I am a heat fan./..I love the Dolphins and I rip into Sun Life Stadium all the time.
