I get so tired of this mentality. You responded perfectly! For the life of me I can't understand why some people can't see that there is nothing wrong with mentioning certain players when talking about another player and in no way, shape, or form does it mean that these players are being compared to each other.

If I mention that Henne's 3rd down production is "Manning-like" it doesn't mean that I was saying Henne is as good as Manning or that they compare at all. The ONLY thing I'm doing is saying,"Hey, Henne's 3rd down production is really good! It's on par with Maning's 3rd down production." etc etc etc.

Get a grip on the comparisons, if you read closely or pay attention to the posters credibility than you might get it... I believe some of your points are valid, Iam gonna see how this year pan's out before I make that claim on Henne though, the dude has a long way to go before he understands how to motivate his players and get them to play at their optimum level's, but iam encouraged post benching. we'll see.

I have yet to see a single post that says Henne is as good as Manning or Marino. I haven't even seen a single post that predicts he will be as good as Manning. What I have seen is several posts that recognize that Manning wasn't always the Manning you see now. There were people who just as ignorantly stated that Manning would never be a great one and that they didn't see the traits for greatness in him. And whenever you get to players that were not early first round picks the list of those saying "not a chance" grows exponentially. I certainly had people saying that to me when I said that Brees and Warner had a chance to be great. With Henne, I haven't even said that I think he will reach elite status. All I have said is that Henne has been better than I expected in areas I didn't think he could/would improve in. He made those improvements through hard work. And b/c of that work ethic I can admit that he could also make improvements in other areas where he has been deficient. That has made me retract my opinion about what his potential upside is. He has proven me wrong in those areas and it would be insane for me to continue to claim that he can't prove me wrong in others.

Neither Dan Marino nor Chad Henne have won a Super Bowl for Miami...... although Henne has another 10 years to work on it. I, too, used them both in the same sentence; where's my lightening bolt? :shifty:

    Henne, the Second-Coming of Marino?

there will be another hero under center next season
(probably another Center too) for the forum to idolize & adulate
unless this guy steps up his game big time & seriously

we need five wins & he has to become a major part of winning
I think Henne has become very high maintenance
too much time, attention & senseless energy invested
too many mistakes & opportunities lost
in what has shown @ best to be a QB of very limited promise

we simply don't have another two years
to invest in an "almost", hoping he'll eventually "get it".

no more excuses, he has to get it done in 2010

may he prove me wrong & play the rest of the year
masterfully, fulfilling the promise of the franchise

    Friend ascii:

    think about it:

most would agree he's no Marino, Griese or Pennington
does he have the potential of any of Miami's second tier QB's: Fiedler, Rosenfels, Forotte or Feeley
    maybe

    two things:
one- we never had the investment in any of them that we have in Henne
two- none of them could take us to the SuperBowl or anywhere close to a SuperBowl
the road to the BigEnchilada is led by a FranchiseQB, not an excuse
are you be satisfied with another second tier QB & more missed opportunities?
    I think not!

fortunately, there is still time for the hen to emerge as the RealDeal
he's got the remainder of the season to step up & he just might do it
no more excuses  just do it!

you said: "Henne is the first coming of Henne actually"
I completely agree. he is what he is & his time has come to actually show his metal

i think you can compare henne to manning so long as it isnt peyton. i think he's more in the line of eli or flacco just shorter and less experience starting

Tell that to all the teams that won the Big Enchilada without a "true" franchise QB. This is a team game, not a franchise QB game; Marino proved us that much.

With a great nucleus of players and great coaching, we can enjoy multiple Enchiladas with Henne...... and when we beat the Packers in a future SB, we'll enjoy an Enchilada with extra cheese...... and after we beat the Saints, we can have an Enchilada with nothing on it. Just sayin.

See, here is your problem, you keep looking for another Marino, news flash, Marino retired and there will never be another Marino.

You will never be happy until you come to grips with this.

Dude, seriously? Seriously? You say he MAY have the potential of Fiedler, Rosenfels, Frerotte, or Feeley!? Clearly you're implying that he's not as good as them now and that, conversely, he may not ever be. I'll be blunt. That's just ****ing ******ed. I would gladly take Henne over those bums any day. I was lurking these boards a while ago when you were on your "OH THIS OFFENSE MAY BE BETTER WITH PENNINGTON. IT MAY WORK BETTER. JUST MAYBE. MAAAAY BE OH MAAY BE! JUST MAYBE. **** YEAH MAYBE RAINBOW MAYBES MAKE ME SO ****ING COOL" shroom trip. You post some of the most annoying **** I've ever seen over and ****ing over again whilst ignoring everything and everyone that doesn't agree with you and take it as an invitation to post more "MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE RAINBOWS BABY **** YEAH" and assume that because you've said it so many ****ing times it makes it true.

Yeah, I registered just so that I could let you know how I feel.

truth is, my post was inappropriate & unnecessarily. what I was trying to say was simply lets be nice & keep the focus on football. simple message for simple minds. surely, no one would have a problem with that concept.
Straight forward & upfront, nobody of consequence wants to trash a forum like little gossiping girls in the school yard. sarcasm & ridicule so often sour the milk of human kindness.

we need to win on Sunday, that is the real issue & in what fashion our offense will end their season under the leadership of Chad Henne. we can only hope for the best possible results. with a little bit of luck, facilitated by an easy last round & a QB due to step up, there is still reason to hope.

    FellowMember ToddsPhins:
does it really matter? a Dolfan is a Dolfan, male, female or other... besides I read nothing in your personal information that would indicate your gender or persuasion. only thing I can go by are posts & if it walks like a duck...well you get the picture. I've often referred to guys as girls & girls as guys without malicious intent, just a play on words no offense was/is ever intended. Good night FellowMember ToddsPhins

Wow, I said welcome and that he'll fit right in because he's a Dolphin fan. I apologize that I'm incapable of doing that. One who continues to tout the merits of an ignore button should seek to use it.

    I can quote poems too:

All around the forum he spoke
Like a man quite fond of taking a toke
From statements he made he did backpedal
For unresearched statements he could win a medal
Hate him is what he thought of we
When truly we just looked with glee
At comments based solely on conjecture
Of biasland he could win prefecture
Hate him I would never do
For Dolphin fans should stick like glue
A little proof is all I ask
The youngest of childs could complete that task
With hatchet in had I come to dig
A new way forward, a plea not big
All I ask is that you be clear
And use real facts without fear
Opinion now and again is not a crime
But in perpetuity it's a waste of time
Forging forward I extend my hand
To place new friendship on a stand
One thing I've learned in life to be true
No effort can stick bull**** to glue.
