What offense doesn't ned aqb who can throw touch? None in the nfl. Henne doesn't have touch or an accurate long ball
I'm not defending Henne I don't think Henne can be successful because of what you mentioned however with all his weakness it doesn't help that the offense isn't designed to his strengths.
Nah dude. No offense, but....excuses. I don't know how it's possible to excuse that performance, but that's just me. I have an opinion on what the main problem is, but I might make a separate thread on that issue. For now, I'll just probably take a sedative the size of a golf ball followed by a beer chaser, pass out and pray that this was just a real bad dream.
Then we can curse him when he lights it up in another offensive system... against us. Like all players do when we cast them off. Sparano is done here IMO. I'm confident in saying he should be as well after today.
Fans, who paid good money to watch this game in person, boo'd the team leaving the field, the announcers and some posters here were "cannot believe it" well gosh, Fish, and whomever proved them correct. What are we 1-5 at home? I am amazed anyone shows up for these choke fests, and the players whining about "gosh we see more opponents jerseys" should STFU, pay 500 dollars for a prime ticket to watch you suck sounds kind of stupid if you say it out loud
Get a QB, that's all there is to it. Get a QB, shelve Long for the year, fire Sparano. Not sure how you get a QB anymore though. A mediocre record doesn't get you Andrew Luck, but that's all it is really. You can't beat a zone you can't do much in this league.
Maybe, the season has to play itself out, we probably finish 9-7 but sucking at home in front of empty seats is not a good plan for re-upping the head coach.
Trade up for your QB. I know it's not a given you can do that but they should think about it. It's worked out pretty well for the Jets so far.
Totally agree, Henning would make Peyton Manning look like dog ****. You cater your offense towards you quarterback, not the other way around. Like to see Henne with an adequate coach.
Hopefully all those Henne fans will now realize why so many of us have argued for the Dolphins to use their first pick in the coming draft on a QB. Dan Henning has been taking the blame all year. Now we have all seen why Sparano and Henning are not willing to trust Henne when the game is on the line. He has thrown six interceptions in the fourth quarter this season. He consistently missed open receivers today and when the game was on the line. He once again showed that he is not capable of leading the Dolphins to victory. Henne will never be a quality QB in the NFL. It is time ALL Dolphin fans come to this realization. He will prove to be nothing but a backup QB with an inconsistent arm. After playing at QB for Michigan for four years. All he accomplished was getting the head coach fired. He is well on his way to making Sparano coach number two; fired because of his inability to play the QB position. Parcells was correct when he stated that Henne is not the QB he thought he would be when the Dolphins drafted him.
Exactly what kind of game plan should you call for an inaccurate QB? I don't know how anybody could let him off the hook for his play today. He was poor most of the game.
He's not a good coach. Bad time management skills; the team plays flat A LOT at home; can't beat "good" teams; hasn't fired the dinosaur offensive coordinator; and looks as if his QB is pretty wrecked. All these things are not hallmarks of a good head coach. If I were Ross, he's gone after the season. I'd almost be inclined to off him now and let Nolan finish the job.
Yeah, being able to fire a team up is not all there is to coaching. Sparano's team added talent from last season and they have somehow regressed.
This is a great qeury. In this day and age you need to get a good one out of college. We can't for Henne to develop, teams won't trade a good QB unless they can't afford him anymore.
At this point, I think you have to consider ponying up our first this year, next year, and whatever else it takes to get Andrew Luck.
You guys crack me up....you really do. Get one out of college.....is that like finding one that grows on a tree? Get one out of college.... LORD HAVE MERCY NOW WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT...... Please....
To finish 9-7. The Dolphins would not only have to beat the Lions and the Bills at home. They would also have to beat the Patriots and Jets on the road. I don't see them beating the Jets or the Patriots on the road. Based on their play today and their 1-5 record at home. I think a record of 7-9 is much more probable than 9-7. The playoffs are gone. Now all we have to look forward to is the draft. I am getting sick and tired of this same crap year after year.
I've got news for you. Any young QB will fail here as long as Henning is calling the plays, and dar I go as far as saying as long as sparano is the head coach. You say Henne got Sparano fired, no way bro. Sparano's done that to himself if thats what happens. This team comes out flat at home all the time, can't beat the top teams, continuously adds talent, but plays worse, plays down to their opposition, fails at clock and game management, we're not good and alot of it is because of him.
Im in, anything is better than this endless 2nd round ****, I hate to admit it but the fat *** Ryan was right, he moved up to get Sanchez and its paid off. we went 2nd round cheap and are paying for it
Please enough of that already. There is no excuse for Henne's performance today. It was bad. That's it. Maybe he's just an inconsistent QB.
How about one that works. That's why he gets paid, right? Henne has strengths and weaknesses, look at how Brian Schottenheimer coaches with Sanchez, he has just as many weaknesses as Henne, but they get the job done.
Hartline was ten ****ing yards past Haden on a deep throw. The cover 2 was open the whole day in the middle. That second pick was the funniest example with Fasano wide open for at least 20 and instead he goes to Bess. Then on the next pick. Hmm let's see I bet this is to Bess. I'm looking at Bess. I'm looking at Bess. Hmm let me throw it to him I wonder if the DL can tell I'm looking there.
to finish 9-7 that team we watched today has to beat either Jets or Pats on the road in 20 degrees?? And the Jets and Pats are fighting for playoff seeds, divisions? And Miami fighting for what? 8-8 at best.....fellas
hate to admit it but its true, , he has no arm, but he's fearless and has guts back there unlike Heiney
well henning is a god damn pharisee as far as his play calling, but if you cant hit a open receiver it dont matter much who the coach is
By the way I'm just curious, has Peyton Manning signed his extension. I'm dead serious. He would light the ****ing league up on this team.
Three years of Manning anyone? Maybe four even?... Healthy. Has never played with a great offensive line in years. What he would do here. It's a risk I'll tell you that but the money and pick investment's not that much more than a top pick. Let's make an interesting scenario. You trade two 1sts on a franchise tag for Manning. You draft a speed back in the third. You sign a cheap athletic TE in FA, and perhaps you find room to add a LG. Do you win a SB with this team+Manning.
