Now we have heard it...Henne sux. We need to draft a QB....we cant wait for him to develop....

    Fine.

Put your money where our mouth is.....if Henne sux so bad.....please elaborate on how you think we upgrade him. Please....which QB should we draft ....that is going to be so good....we should probably just send Henne packing now.

    Which QB?

    Here....Ill even help you out....

    10) What do any of you know about Case Keenum? Plays for Houston....he gonna be that upgrade?

    9) How bout Blaine Gabbert.....

    8) Ricky Stanzi anyone?

    7) Scott Tolzien......he the annointed one?

    6) Jerrod Johnson.....

    5) T Relle Prior....yeh....hes the sure thing....right?

    4) Christian Ponder....

    3) Ryan Mallet...

    2) Andre Luck.....exactly how many draft picks did you want to trade to get this high up?

    1) Jake Locker.....well...most NFL analysts cant even agree in how good this kid can be....but why not trade the whole draft to take him anyways....

Or....well hell, what say we sign us one of those amazing FA QB's due out in 2011...

    Brett Favre...come on DOWN!!!

Matt Moore....we want More of Moore!!!

Kyle Orton....oh yeh....Dan Marino Part Deux...

    Matt Hasselbeck....CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Those are your saviors peeps.....come on you amazing GM's....we gotta get us a QB....which one will it be...which one is the upgrade over Henne we have all been waiting for....

I think henne is going to be an average qb at best.We are going to win nothing with him simply because he is not accurate enough down the feild.I could have thrown that pass to hartline.
In saying that I agree the qb depth in the draft is not good where we are going to be picking, and the free agents next year are going to suck. Please people stop bringing up vick the eagles are not stupid.
I think we are going to be stuck with this guy for 1 more year unless the head coach gets fired which is a small possibility.
My somber prediction is we will again be rebuilding with a new coach and qb in two years. How depressing.

I know we've been screwed before by Philly QBs, but I'm interested in one of their guys. I'd only bring one of them in with the caveat of getting one of those Holmgren tree--QB gurus in here as a QB coach or OC, along with bringing in some type of speed demon on the outside.

I agree that other than Luck. There is really no outstanding QB in this years draft.
Of course what that means for the Dolphins is they are stuck with trying to develop Henne. Unfortunately for us Dolfans. That means we are stuck with a mediocre QB
for at least another year. Which also means that we should not expect anything more than a mediocre record from the Dolphins again next year. Of course the Eagles just might be willing to trade Kevin Kolb if they sign Vick to a long term contract. I would certainly take Kolb over Henne as the long term answer at QB for the Dolphins.

The problem is that whomever you trade for/sign, they really automatically become the starting QB. If they aren't then it's considered a wasted draft pick or spending of money. That's why I'd really be more interested in drafting a guy--no matter what round it is--and saying alright you're competing against Henne and Thigpen for the starting job.

Whereas you go the other route, you're saying Henne isn't the guy, Thigpen isn't the guy, but this guy is. So, if you make a trade for Kevin Kolb, or sign Mike Vick/whomever, etc. then you'd better be darn sure that they are the guy. That's why I say if you do something like that, it better with the caveat of giving him all the familiar things that are making him successful over there. You don't bring one of those guys and fit him into your system.

I think the results speak for themselves. I would get a QB that wouldn't lose us games. It's a pretty simple formula really: just throw the ball where the other team ISN'T!

Not really too difficult. Every other QB can do this - why not Henne? I want to see him develop - but at what cost?

Henne is our guy, love it or hate it. I've been making this argument since he was benched. Theres no real way for us to really improve the position, sans some crazy trade up like the browns gave the jets for sanchez.

I guess you missed the talk of no football next year. I don't think we'll draft him in 2011 but in 2012, in that NFL draft. Look at next years college QB to see where he will come from.

I believe we most definitely can improve the position and entire offense with the firing of Henning (and Sparano) and getting an offensive minded HC and young creative OC in here....until they are gone our offense will remain stagnant, no matter who's at QB.

It only makes sense to draft a QB in this year's draft. Henne will start regardless. Sink or swim we'll at least have a plan B. This year's crop has tons of potential. The Dolphins need to make sure they have a guy who can actually develop the guy.

You can always trade a 1st round unknown QB a lot easier for more in return than any other position.

    Yep.

I have been patient and have not said anything one way or the other regarding the QB situation this year. I'm done. I'm not mad, just ready to see someone new run the offense and draft a qb. Our staff has enough confidence in Henne to run it up the gut on third and 8. Thats about as much as I believe in him also. Nolan is awesome and will have the D better next year. Get Cam Newton.

The last time the Dolphins hired an offensive minded coach. We were stuck with Cam Cameron. Like it or not. This Dolphins team is still far from being a contender in the AFC. There are far too many holes to fill. The major hole being at QB. Parcells deserves far more of the blame than Sparano does. He was the one who wanted Jake Long instead of Matt Ryan three years ago. Instead he opted to take Long with the first pick in the draft and Henne in the second round. While Long is certainly one of the top left tackles in the game. Ryan has shown that he is a franchise QB. Henne on the other hand has shown that he is not a franchise QB and at best. He is a mediocre QB. Whether Sparano is fired or not is irrelevant. Because the Dolphins are at least another 2-3 years from being a contender in the AFC East. Let alone a contender for the Super Bowl.

It wouldn't matter if we had Ryan or not, especially without Jake there to protect him, Henning would still be running garbage plays, throwing in the tired wildcat and calling QB draws on 3rd downs...

No. He is not good IMO. Only thing he's got going for him is a quick release.

    No thank you.

He is Chad Henne 2.0 in terms of inconsistency and mistakes.

    Inconsistent.

Has upside but far from a finished product. His release is high, low, and sidearm every game. He's so inconsistent.

No thank you to Vince Young.

I actually like him but I don't want a QB high.

    NO.

I wish. Only exception to taking a QB high.

    No thank you.

    I'll take Kyle Orton, sure.

Havent seen much of any of them..can really only go on what is out there in the draft journals...

    Ive been watching WVU football...

It just seems the most logical, realistic thing to do is to put in an OC that will build an offense Henne can do well in...we need deep speed in the form of a WR..(draft is very deep at WR)...try and find some interior OL help..depth at ILB..solve our RB issue...R Brown..someone else..etc...

I have defended Henne for a long time and thought he would be our QB. But after today I kind of got fed up with him. He is too inconsistent, inaccurate, and makes poor decisions. I am jumping on the QB 1st round bandwagon, and I think Cam Newton is the one im leaning towards because it is realistic for him to be where we will be drafting. Locker say no to, not gonna be good. Lets get Newton!

Henne should be showing some improvement now in his 3rd year in the league. He looks worse than he did in 2009. The defense held the Browns to 13 points, and only 10 points before the last INT. But he just looks like more of the same that we've been dealing with since 2000, and the Dolphins remain a mediocre franchise while teams like the Chiefs, Saints, Buccaneers, Falcons, Jets, Jaguars, etc blaze past them.

If you count playoff wins then every team except the Lions, Bengals, Browns, Bills, and Chiefs have surpassed the Dolphins. How much longer do you keep waiting on a QB who might improve with a new OC. Just keeping going on and on.

All Cam Newton does is WIN. You clowns who think Newton is like Pryor of Ohio State have not seen him play. Newton is a taller stronger better passing Vince Young type, and he has about the same speed as Michael Vick. If we are going to run the Wildcat there is nobody who would do a better job than Cam Newton. Even if we go away from the Wildcat we need a strong mobile QB. We have no shot at getting Luck, and Locker and Mallet are no different than Henne.

Not to defend dan henning but do you think he is running the tired wildcat because he has no faith in the qb.
Ryan brought his team back from 10 pts down today in the 4th quarter after throwing one of the best sideline passes a qb can make on 3rd and 12 to pick up a key first down to keep the winning drive alive. He has been doing this all year that is one of the main reasons they are 10 -2.Henne on the other hand has the 2nd most ints in the nfl in the 4th quarter. This guy plays his worst when we need him the most.
