Five wins will be ridiculously tough given the team's inconsistency and probably unlikely, but it's far from impossible. I mean three of the games are against opponents we should beat. The biggest challenge right now is the last one against the Pats.

There is still the possibility that the east could produce three playoff teams. The Steelers are kind of banged up I believe. [Rapistberger is for sure] Playing the Ravens this weekend won't help their situation. I'm hoping they'll lose this weekend and go into a tailspin. That could open up the possibility of us getting the number 6 spot. Maybe even with ten wins if they stumble badly enough. They've been lucky too. They should have lost to us and the Bills. Hopefully their luck is running out.

They'd have to lose another game besides us and the Jets.

And that is just one path, we still are in the mix between the Ravens and Steelers, difference being we play the Jets and Pats, with that path we need either team to have a small meltdown..which could happen as well.

I have absolutely no idea how this season will finish. A couple of weeks ago, I saw many a post saying the season is over for our team. Now, I see many a post believing that the season is not over. I prefer the later. :)

I have not given up on our year and/or playoffs. However, I am going to wait for two more games to see a legit chance.

After we beat up on the Brownies, and kick the Jets ***, I will be joining in. It is gonna happen.

I'll tell ya fellas, this week and next week are just massively important:

    Next Wk:

    Phins v Jets
    KC v SD
    Bal v Texans
    Oak v Jax
    NE v Chicago

Basically, we win tomorrow, and heading into next week we could be looking at being #7 in the WC chase, 1 game out depending on how wins and loses the rest of the games next week and believe it or not, right now a tie with KC and the Ravens or Pitt and us is one of the best things that can happen as both the Ravens and Steelers then lose their advantage with a head to head win against us.

Padre, This week is a gimme. We win, and two teams ahead of us lose. No bout adoubt it.

Next week we NEED to win, and see where the chips are falling. Say whatever you will but, I am looking ahead, and not taking one game at a time. I leave that to Sparano.

Jets are gonna be coming off an emotional game with a short week to work. Regardless of the outcome, I likes our chances. Then we can talk PLAYOFFS, as we will.

Let's just say I'll have the popcorn ready for MNF..

IDK, KC has been under estimated all season, and I do not think the Chargers have faced anyone who can run the ball as well as KC can, and they have Crennel and Weis, this could be the yr the Bolts late season magic fizzles.

The Plan B path, this will be the type of game where both teams leave with injured players, either one it doesn't matter to us.

The real key is, we could use a AFCW team to tie with them and us, that would be huge as if the head to head category is removed neither the Ravens or Stealers have an edge on us any longer.

We'll see, next week basically our season either is over, or begins.

Though I suspect even a L next week is not the legitimate end to the season, 3 teams going 10-6 and we would own the tie breakers for the #6 WC slot even in that scenario.

There are no elite teams, just a bunch of VG ones. This has all the makings of a FANtastic finish.

No one gives a **** how long you have been posting on a message board. That don't mean a damn thing. I'm referring to the fact that I have been watching Dolphins football for nearly 40 years now so as I said before I'm pretty sure I get how the whole thing works. :wink2:

    That's all completely off.

Miami would not have the superior conference record. The Jets would have lost to one NFC team in that scenario where they lose the next three and Miami will have lost to one NFC team. That means identical conference record. If the common games are the same, strength of victory needs to be mentioned. Tennessee is in a terrible tailspin right now and Houston will likely have the better record. The Broncos very easily could have the same record or perhaps better than Oakland. It'll be close, but I see Tenn. losing a number of games at this rate.

From what I've calculated Oakland will give us a point in SOV, but the difference will be what happens with Tennessee. If Collins comes back and they go on a tear beating three consecutive division opponents it looks good for Miami in this scenario. They could also lose five straight so really I'm not sure what will happen.

The assumption is always "this team will win the rest of their games" however the chances of several teams all finishing the season 4-0 down the stretch rarely happens, some of the teams ahead of us will lose unexpectedly, it always happens.

Say the Bears and Packers beat the patiots? Ravens lose to the Stealers and Texans?

Cincinati for whatever reason, has owned the Ravens the last two years.

Which I suspect is one of the reasons for "only 3 11-5 teams have ever missed the playoffs" as most teams stumble down the stretch to 10-6.

And that is the problem with playing Schedule Bingo, those are not abstractions, those are games that either team can win or lose.

Point is though that even at 11-5 it's not perfect. It's much simpler when you have tunnel vision and you just view each week as a must win no matter what, especially if you're the actual team playing.

Without Brady and maybe Mayo/Wilfork we'd beat them up badly.

Cant win the final FIVE without beating CLE. As will be said for the near future, all rides this week. Focus on CLE, then and only then will I consider the next step.

To each their own, but stating how important the Jets game will be, or how we cant lose focus vs BUF or DET to set up the NE game in week 17 is equally silly. One game at a time about what needs to be done is simple.

This whole post has failure written all over it. There was no way in hell this team was going to win out. You attack with swagger but with no real meaning. Good spot emotionally? Total clown shoes. It makes no sense.

    Well done.

Maybe the 'playoff" talk can stop now. This team has as much chance of making the playoffs as I do of waking up tomorrow in a hot tub with Meagan Fox.

Nope. I was drilled for saying we wouldn't win out.
People were way too confident about the Browns game.
On the other hand I still understood that Henning was the OC.

I don't understand why people seem to be excited to see that the Dolphins lost. This takes the team out of playoff contention and likely puts us back searching for a new quarterback. Kind of sucks, if you ask me.

Hard to fathom why folks would feel the need to troll their own message board and rub people's noses in it.
