I can't remember exactly which play, but in the fourth Quarter Dierdorf just blurted out the word "ridiculous" in reference to the playcalling. I think it was in the fourth quarter, and I really couldn't say whether it was Henning or Henne making the call as Henne was also allowed to call the run audible on 3rd and long in the first quarter. Isn't that enough to cause a switch. I can't stand Dierdorf as a commentator but he never says anything that overtly derogatory. In this case he was exactly right. Our offense is ridiculous and just about every analyst I've seen is critical of the playcalling.
It was in reference to Haden making his third consecutive defensive play on that drive, not the playcalling.
He also said that "Dan Henning has forgotten more football than people know." He also said that fans who criticized Tony Sparano for his fist pumps and his emotion were ridiculous as well.
**** me, I must be ridiculous if he said it that many times. I just seem to recall him saying it in regards to the playcalling.
On second thought I am definitely ridiculous for adding yet another trite, Ad Nauseum thread to the already existing pile of eff Henning/Henne threads...
I thought the same thing at first until I saw who made the play, then I said, "that's ridiculous". That was a hell of a defensive series by Haden. He single handedly destroyed that drive. It's the Miami Dolphins at 7:12 drive on NFL.com's play by play: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20101...ox-score#analyze-channels:cat-post-playbyplay
Ridiculous is throwing the ball to Polite on 3rd and 1. Not sure Diedorf said it but i sure did. And the running play to Polite..... Another ludicrous call.
Pandarilla, I also remember Dierdorf saying something regarding a playcall, and I took it as a criticism, but for the life of me I cannot remember what play, or what he said. Of course, it could have been what the previous posters said and I was probally too busy cursing at the TV.
That's true but man, I was like holy crap, when he said it because at first it sounded like he meant the play call.
He did, and when he said Henning forgot more football than any of us would ever know, I totally agreed with him. As a matter of fact sometimes I think Henning has forgot most of what he once knew. Either that or he has a 3 minute memory span because one he'll call three nice plays in a row then out comes the nuts...
He seemed like he was talking about the play call and then got interrupted when he saw Haden had made the tackle again. He said its ridiculous then something like oh look who it is and then proceeded to give him props. But he was talking about the play call initially.
I felt bad for both announcers, having to broadcast that debacle. Thank god Henne threw that pick and avoided OT...Dierdorf was ready to put the business end of a .45 in his mouth.
ROFL, Dierdorf would have taken as many people with him before he offed himself (Man, 3 AM humor is macabre). Then again I just watched "Faster" online.
Actually, a true football fan loves all facets of the game. Including a defensive struggle like yesterday's Miami-Browns game. A a Dolphin's fan I found yesterday's game frustrating, but entertaining. Now, the Vikes blowing out the Bills was also a good game for all the offense lovers of the NFL.
As long as Dan Henning is around, we are going to continue watching games like the one yesterday. The play calling from this man has been an absolute joke the entire season. But if Sparano is authorizing passes on 3rd and 1, he should be fired also. How many times are they going to use play action (which is probably the worst play fake in the entire league. Henne seems to be seriously lacking in this department. WHY do they keep requiring that he do it?) and watch it fail miserably? 3rd and 9.....play action!!! Every time. This is my right as a Dolphins fan and I am DEMANDING that Dan Henning be fired right now. Not asking anymore. This is a ****ing joke.
Well UM isn't going to hire Mike Leach, so why don't we bring him in as OC? He would light up the scoreboard better then Henning.
Teh first drive they're moving the ball, get to around the 35-40 yrd line of the Brown's, stall a little and it's 3rd and 8. Henning calls a run up the middle. He's playing for ****ing FG's. I'm so sick of this ****.
