I thought it was bad against Chicago, but this may actually have been a worse performance. Henne, Henning and Sparano must all go !
Too close to call with regards to Henne and Sparano. They're fate will likely be decided at the end of the season. With Henne being last on the list.
anyone watching what Matt Ryan is doing in Tampa this afternoon.........he could have been a Dolphin !
Then I guess you enjoy being nothing more than .500. I have seen enough. That missed pass to Hartline was the straw that broke the camel's back. Henne is not the man. Elite QB's make that pass. Jake Long is great, but you can draft an adaquate OL man to fill Jake's spot. Its much harder to find a QB that is an elite player. We let yet another one slip though our fingers.
I'd have taken Long then and Cam Newton this year. I think even an average QB hits that wide open Hartline.
Apples and oranges. Ryan is Ryan, Stafford is Stafford. Ryan was considered by many to have a great ceiling. Stafford by the way does show a lot of promise. He's shown more than Henne. If you are defending Henne, don't cry when he leads the Fins to another .500 finish in 2012 (there won't be football next year most likely).
I think you missed his point; they don't have a left tackle and Matthew Stafford is now spending more time on the trainers table than Ronnie Brown does.
If this team drafted Matt Ryan, people would be *****ing that they didn't have a left tackle to protect him.
I don't think Vernon Carey would have been a bad stopgap, certainly not as bad as the Lions situation.
You pick the QB 1st, then worry about the line, especially if the athlete is as special as Matt Ryan. Long is great, but he already is breaking down himself. He will have to have surgery after this season, and who knows if he comes back 100%.
I wouldn't say he is "breaking down". He's had one injury. If he's "breaking down", then what is Ronnie Brown? Again, tell that to Detroit.
Look you are going to be contrary no matter what I say. I say they made a mistake, you don't think they made one. We will have to agree to disagree. Time will answer this question fully.
Since the Detroit comparison was made, I went with what the Lions have. I could also look at Baker for the Falcons reference, who hasn't been what I'd call outstanding either. Certainly, both of them are lesser than Vernon. We would have lived. But, that's hindsight.
Sam Baker has not been that good either. He's been worse than Backus, statistically speaking. They've helped him a lot.
It's a torn labrum. He'll be back 100%. If anything, his shoulder will be stronger than it was before the injury.
