that was the hole point of my "LOLs", id rather laugh at the ridiculous thoughts and debates then fall into the trap of trying to reason with someone without it.
Brady can win games by himself. Our beloved Dan Marino made tons of stupid throws, multiple interception games, costly pick sixes (in a different era of rules). The difference is guys like Brady, Marino, Manning, etc will certainly lose a few games for you. But they will carry a team and win far more than they lose. Henne has not done that... yet? It's difficult to evaluate a young QB with a crazy OC and multiple injuries at O Line and WR. Defense is giving him every opportunity in the world though. 13 points allowed after 3 picks? No scores for TD machine Peyton Hillis? What more could Henne and the offense want to keep them in a game?
thats the whole point! if alls it takes is one or two wildcat plays to throw Henne off, we are ****ed.
A. teams only get 3 timeouts/half.... and they don't always use them when the opposing offense is on the field. B. if you've never been a QB or a Pitcher, then you shouldn't speak about something as if it's an absolute when you really dont know the answer. Just sayin. LOL
I don't know if Henne's rhythm is broken by standing on the sideline, but I can't imagine it helps. Henning is upstairs, and Henne rarely receives any coaching when he's yanked. He just kinda stands there trying not to look upset. What I can say, is that the WC interrupts the flow of the offense. Plays set up other plays, that's what I mean by "rhythm". The Iso sets up the counter, the stretch sets up the bootleg. The toss sets up the reverse. The drop back sets up the draw and the screen. Running successfully with a QB under center sets up play action. Running out of the WC sets up nothing, not that we run very well out of it anymore anyway. I understand running it vs Cleveland b/c our WR situation was critical, but in a general sense I think it's become counterproductive.
Does anyone think that the lack of talent around him might have more to do with Henne's inconsistancy, than a WC play to throw him off rythm??? please...
That is soooo much easier said than done. The QB needs the players who can get deep consistently to be able to throw deep. You cant put the cart before the horse here. Saying the QB has to make the throw despite a deficiency at the position is like say the Running Back needs to break the run even though his Oline is inadequate. SAME THING. Manning still has Manningham, his main deep threat the past few years..... and he hasn't thrown deep lately. He's looking like crap w/o Nicks and Smith. But he has a ground game winning it for him.
Brady sure can, but he also has 8 years as a starter experience over Henne... and I also don't believe that Flacco nor Matt Ryan has won a game by them selves... they get a lot of support from their supporting casts...
A. Theres also injury timeouts, reviews, your own team timeouts. theres an awful lot of opportunities for Henne to get his rhythm messed up. B. Have you played QB in the NFL? no, then dont tell me I shouldnt say anything as an absolute, when you havent been in there in the situation we are talking about. Just because you played QB on your pee wee football team means nothing.
You say that, but this it the other reason i dont understand this argument, when the wildcat is running successfully, our offense is better. it doesnt just stall drives out once Henne is back under center. And I usually always see Henne talking to Sparano on the sidelines when he goes off the field. There is 0 difference between Henne running a handoff to Ronnie, and running off the field for 1 play.
A. yes, ALL YOU MENTIONED is enough w/o adding in a dozen more unnecessary TIMEOUTS (AKA WILDCAT plays) right in the MIDDLE OF A DRIVE. Are there commercial TOs during a drive outside of the 2 minute? Are there injuries every other drive? Are there reviews every other drive when it's "your turn" on offense? no, no, and no. B. No, I played QB for 5 years in school and I pitched for another 9 or so including playing for Clemson. And if it takes you out of a rhythm when the schemes/defenses/play calls/etc are less complicated (in High School and College), then you can bet your @$$ that it matters when you reach the NFL level where EVERYTHING is a hundred miles a second!!!! You have no clue as to what you're talking about. Do you even watch NFL football, or are you too young to hit a sports bar to where you can see every game transpiring..... or is it past your bedtime on Monday and Sunday night b/c mommie wants "lights out"? I watch football....... seeing QBs get into a rhythm is about as apparent as seeing it's about to rain..... and seeing them fall out of rhythm is nearly the same.
There is a HUGE difference between a QB handoff and a WC snap. PLAY-ACTION. Most big passing plays come off of play action. It forces the back seven to come up, the front four to slow down, it gives more time for the WRs to work down field and more time for the QB to throw. WC does none of that, it doesn't increase the likelihood of a big play at all. WC makes defending the run slightly more difficult while completely erasing any threat of the pass. If it was such a great system, a lot more teams would be running it.
it's not always 1 play. There's an entire mindset to it...... something I think you would understand better than most.
Right. Added: the WC's a temporary crutch that can be effective against poor-average teams....... but does absolutely NOTHING to set us up or prepare us for future success.
You just said nothing about what we were talking about. Of course its different in a sense of our production out of the offense, were talking about a QBs rhythm getting broke by 13 seconds on the field and split out wide.
your right, its not always one play. but please show me where we have ran it more then once, and how it affected Henne...i would LOOOOOVE to know.
I think you missed what he's saying. There is a difference b/c when a run comes from a WC, it does nothing to set up the future playaction pass that will "help" the QB or help with his rhythm b/c of true playaction success. You're taking away one of the tools of an offense/QB when you run from the WC rather than the QB handing it off. QB handing it off sets up the defense to expose them for a big play. Direct snap to an RB does nothing.
Have you ever played the "QB football game" where you have to throw the ball through 3 different sized holes and it keeps track of your score? Just b/c Henne's an NFL QB doesn't mean that outside influences don't affect his accuracy and mentality.
Maybe the difference is he threw 4 tds.Are you ****ing kidding?****ing defence is 4th in the league and we are 6-6 because we can't ****ing score. The qbs job is to lead the team to points last time I checked.
Do you even ****ing understand a ****ing thing about how a ****ing offense operates at the NFL ****ing level? This isn't ****ing backyard football. With how much all of your unintelligent posts revolve around the word "****ing", then I'm guessing that answer would be a big, fat, ****ing NO.
We might be 4th in the league YARDS ALLOWED, but that doesn't make us the 4th ranked defense b/c you're "choosing" to use that stat as the standard. Yards allowed means little compared to scoring D and turnovers created. We're actually the 11th ranked scoring D. We rank 23rd in INTs (how did that missed pick 6 for the win turn out vs Cleveland?) We rank 31st in forced fumble Turnovers. The Bears for instance have created 27 defensive turnovers!! Miami: has 12.... which I believe ties us for DEAD LAST IN THE NFL. Not getting many turnovers does NOTHING to help an offense that's having problems AS A WHOLE (from coaching on down to the 11 guys on the field) Only Long and Bess are playing at a high level right now..... and Long isn't when he's injured. Our D is good...... but make no mistake, it's not the 4th best D in the NFL with all things considered.
hilarious...because i dont proof read my posts on a message board...on the internet...with a bunch of people that use lols. this is the internet, when will people get off their high horse. am i in english class? no, so move on..thanks.
I'm not sure if I should agree with you or disagree with you because you're post is so contridictory. You're all over the place. I'll try to reply. First, no, Brady can not win games all by himself. The day he walks out onto the field and blocks for himself, hands off to himself and catches a pass from himself you can call me out. No one is trying to say Henne is Brady or Marino or Manning. I tried get that much across. My entire point is that ALL QB's make poor, innaccurate, stupid throws. Yes, it is hard to evaluate a QB on our offense. Yes, our defense is playing lights out. To answer your last question, catch the ball when the opposing QB throws it right to your chest.
It's not just your spelling or grammar. However, it's the only thing worthwhile, at least in this thread, worth mentioning about your posts.
I will agree we should have more turnovers but when you have given up the 4th least amount yards in the league and we are acutally 8 th in points not counting the special team tds you failed to mention. Being at least 15 th in points is not to much to ask for.If that was the case we would be at least 8-4.
McNabb and Peyton are looking like crap lately b/c they have both have problems on offense as a whole..... and these guys are seasoned veterans. There's so much more to our offensive woes than QB. QB play isn't helping, but he's young, developing and seeing entirely different coverages than he saw last year, so he's not expected to play like a veteran. I'm not crucifying him until it's time to crucify him. The lack of TOs on D and the consistently bad field position certainly don't help a struggling offense either. Bottom line: Please tell me how ANY QB is supposed to succeed with Bess, Fasano, and 2 FA rookie WRs on the field.... with a line that's far from solidified..... and with a ground game that lacks explosiveness...... while Henning is calling plays. Or does the ground game, play callling, lack of personnel/package diversity, lack of vertical threat, poor scheming, poor use of motion, poor coaching of playaction, and lack of ability to audible all fall on the QB too?
Brady's QBR last night: ____________ Henne QBR Sunday: ____________ These blanks do actually matter more than one sole isolated pass when considering why one has people upset and one does not. Re: Sanchez.. if the Jets want to stick with him through a lot of suckage then, yes, he can become a decent QB... but if a great QB came along the draft turnpike they SHOULD take him and replace Sanchez. Sanchez may develop, but it'll take a few years. If it happens at all.
Brady's # of years in the league _____________. Henne's # of years in the league _____________. Brady's coaching & surrounding cast ___________. Henne's coaching & surrounding cast ___________. These blanks matter too.
I think a lack of speed is the a big problem along with our WR's dropping balls. Throw in the lack of a running game and a ******ed OC and yes, they are all huge factors. However, I brought up one point about the lack of rhythm Henning causes and we were discussing that. If you want to discuss the others, bring it up, but don't act as if anyone here has tried to make any ONE thing the biggest factor. (Other than the Henne haters who blame him 100% )
