    Agreed. As I said in another thread, it's not like he's channeling Drew Brees - and how many QB's that size are successful (other than Brees and the freak athlete Vick)? He's got more skill than Pat White - but what does that say?

    The bottom line, Henne has serious problems and somehow he has to work through those and they have to see what they have.

    So suppose he comes out and plays well in the last 4 games. What then 23? You have given up hope and actually bashed a QB who has started 23 games in his career. In 2009 he wasn't the starter at the beginning of the season so technically he is a first year full time starter and you are giving the guy 10 starts and calling it a day. That is about as irrational as one can be considering not every player is an instant success in this league. You know what I think? You expect Marino to step out onto the field again and you are being quite ridiculous in that mindset. You got to have patience with guys like this and also he obviously he needs more experienced NFL coaching because David Lee is not helping him at all. Now I see Henne improving on his own this season regardless of the bad games he has had. Young QB's do that. It happens everyday in this league. Also the support of an OC that can help not hinder consistency would be a godsend. How in the hell does a QB find a rhythm when the WC is being marched out behind you every time you do something good. I'm not ready to call Chad Henne a bust until I see him under a coach who works his strenghths sorry I'm just not that impatient. It does take time and we have time. You draft a kid in the first round there are no guarantees he will be even close to the QB Matt Ryan is. In fact I'm betting there is more of a chance of a big bust going down. Which only sets us back deeper in the hole. Get someone in here to develop Chad Henne and stay the course. You take your lumps now and things will be better down the road. Trust me.

    I think Henne should finish the season & be evaluated accordingly. never know, maybe the spirit of Dan Marino will descend upon him, but I doubt it. I think Henne is a bust & the next three games will end that conversation amongst reasonable people. my concern is the franchise not the career of one player. I think we need to take a shot @ a possible Franchise QB in the draft, even if it requires moving up to get him. you usually get what you pay for in life, by now we should be willing to pay the price.

    beware of gas leaks while smoking cigars. got something nice to share with you. my Dad read it to me as a boy & had me memorize it. later, it was my son's introduction to verse. it really is a splendid little jewel. enjoy.

    If
    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
    If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with triumph and disaster
    And treat those two imposters just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;
    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

    I hear you say all of that daily but I want something real to tell me he won't ultimately turn out to be the QB we have been coveting. I understand the picks and the inconsistencies of now but give me some hard opinions long term. I'm yet to get that from you at all. Hearing yourself say he is a bust don't make it happen. Back it up bro. I welcome it.........

    Firstly... get over Marino He isn't coming back, nor will you find another. Just get over it and move on, and learn to be patient as young QB's develop

    Secondly... we don't have the ammunition to move up in this draft to take a QB worth taking in the first round. Get over that idea too. Chances are we'll need our first, and a second to move up. We have no second because we have Marshall. Doubtfull we give up a first and third to move if someone takes that deal because we don't have our second. So... in short, we wouldnt sacrifice our entire early draft to take one player. We aren't one player away. End of story.

    1) a Sanchez, Flacco or Ryan would do just fine, needn't concern yourself with Marino
    2) this is an opinion not a fact. personally, I would give up a first & a third or whatever to get Luck. difficult to say what a franchise quality QB is worth to a team that needs one.
    3) unless you are privy to inside information, looks like just another strongly held view to me. a view that I respect but don't agree with...

    Just a question. If he lights it up the next 3 games i know you will be singing his praises and to tell you the truth I will to.Above all else including my ego i want him to be the qb of the future because i want to win a ****ing superbowl before i die.But what if he ****s the bed? Are you still going to have the same type of hope that he is the qb of the future.
    Not that it matters because if your pro henne or anti henne if tony is not fired he is going to be the qb because he has no options in free agency and no time to develop a new qb.
    Henne will have 1 more year to prove himself with i'm sure a new oc and new weapons.
    But its all out the window if tony gets fired which is in the realm of possibility.

    Tyler Thigpen has a little more experience than you may know as he has played with both the Vikings and the Chiefs and holds a career QB rating of 73.6, he also has more TD's than INT's which is rare for this team now-a-days.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Thigpen

    I take nothing away from Henne when I say those things about Thiggy, all I mean to say is that we would hurt nothing to let Thiggy develop trading snaps in different situations with Henne. Since he is a QB, and he is on our roster why not play him? Maybe they can share time and it would be a good thing. . . .

    How do you judge a player by one showing? Should we have done the same thing with Henne? I say lets put our man crush aside and let them both play. I see no harm in flirting with the idea.

    Really? Sanchez has done just fine? Look at his stats why don't you. They aren't far off from Henne's. The difference is he's on a far more talented team, offensively and defensively.

    Ryan struggled quite a bit last year. Flacco has had his struggles as well. Also, both are playing on offenses that have better skilled players than we do.

    A First and a Third probably will not be enough to trade up and get Luck. Like I said, without a 2nd round pick, I highly doubt anyone on this staff would give up our first and third as well to get one player who may, or may not pan out to be a star. Remember, just because they put up good numbers in college, doesn't mean anythign in the pros. Aside from numbers and highlights, what else have you seen from Luck to warrant him being our franchise QB of the future? Probably just stats and highlights, but guess what? Our boy now, Henne has plenty of sweet highlights, and some nice college numbers to throw around too. It doesnt really mean anything now does it? So no, I don't have inside information on anything, its just some common sense. I don't see this FO giving up the farm, to get one player. If we were one player away, and Luck was a sure thing, then sure. But he's not. Nobody is a sure thing at the QB position in the draft. NOBODY.

    Alright, then if that's your opinion, fair enough. Why would you give up the farm for Luck though? What makes you think he's worth it? Aside from some pretty highlights and stats? Giving up a 1 and a 3 (assuming thats what it takes, and im not so sure teams at the top of the draft board will think so), without a second round pick, you've got to be 110% sure he's "the guy". Curious as to what he's shown you that makes you think that? Of course, I'm asking what aside from him being the hyped media guy as #1 QB prospect in the draft, and his good looking stats?

    Playing "Chase the savior" isn't going to bring a winner dependably.

    Sure. you'll hit a Peyton Manning every now and then, but, chances
