The person that thinks Sparano should be fired simply does not watch the faces of these players. They absolutely love him.
wow he is a masterful motivator...kay! Love that B Fields gets the game ball. He was the MVP for sure.
They do , no disagreements, but improvements need to be made. At this point , it looks like a new OC and QB coach and then add some cogs to the offense so we get out of the 60's and are able to score and compete on a somewhat level playing field. There are a lot of positives , we can't dismiss the real negatives though.
Here is the thing. I watch these "float around" coaches like Parcells. I watch a player like Dansby come here of his own free will. I watch the problem child "Incognito" come here and have no problems. There was a time when we could get nobody to come here. These guys want someone - they get him. They are building a culture. It's a culture of football. You find a guy like that - you keep him.
You know, these locker room speeches are warm and fuzzy, and give all of us a tingly feeling. But here's the bottom line: We haven't won two games in a row since the Vikings game. Win one, lose one, win one, lose one, etc. I don't care if Sparano's locker room speeches rival Lombardi's or Pacino's in Any Given Sunday. Something is not being done right after wins to keep this team motivated and prevent let downs. And the lack of consistency points to a coaching problem, among other factors. I'm not saying I think Sparano should be fired. But improvement needs to happen. And that has to start this week at home against Buffalo. We can't keep going on the road and beating good teams only to roll over to dogs at home. If Sparano can have this team ready and they can beat those Bills it goes a long way towards proving he deserves another year.
I don't think so. I know one (working in radio) specifically that hated him - Tim Ryan. Ryan said that none of the Bears liked him. That's just a guy that you get a taste of everyday and eventually he'll tell you something about everything. Ricky quit on him. Did Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor love him? Maybe.... I mean afterall, they pilfered 10 million dollars a year out of him.
Agreed on Coach.However. he has to win his next 2 home games..or some sh$# is gonna have to go down, and I dont want to fire him..This home away record thing is gonna be a full blown conspiracy if he loses 1 more. They really like it when he told them that they could stick their chests out, lol..they freaked... They better bring their swolled up chests and show up ready to fight against detroit at home... Somebody should send Tony an email to put them in a hotel room friday night..lol...Drastic times requires drastic measures....
All things end there........ For me, the lack of consistency is directly attributed to the youth. You give me two more years and I ain't saying the same thing.
i think you underestimate the talent Nolan has to work with. We're a top ten defense no matter who coaches the defense. I like Nolan and his agressive style. It fits our players better than Pasqualoni but if you took away Nolan this defense wouldnt fall apart. It might slip somewhat but it wouldnt be a free fall
...He gave them Tuesday again... ...he gave the ball to Fields? Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just weird for some reason.
You keep him if he gets you to the next level(s) ... This isn't working on offense, it is on him and Ireland to change that . So if they do that , then the things you mention remain positives ,if they don't those are after thoughts. Bottom line is winning , winning in the playoffs and establishing we can be one of those teams that consistently makes the playoffs , goes on playoff runs and wins a super bowl in the near future. I like Tony , a lot , in many ways , but if he isn't part of the solution , well you know the rest.
I always look forward to these. They really do give you goosebumps and you can just feel the passion.
was that vontae davis stepping and shouting over everyone else to lead the team in the howl? really like the way that kid is stepping up.
Im I guess a Sparano Homer i really like this guys make-up. He has teh it factor. He brings a team to play every week, they play there hearts out till the end. Its the effiency that Sparano shows in motivation that i love. He needs to cuts some loose threads and get the offense under control but look the guy is winning on the road. And Im not trying to squirt the question but its a matter a time before this mentality comes back home. I know i joke with my words but Sparano is a good coach, sure he neeeds more experience, but the guy is solid IMO
Its a good thing Sparano fired Pasqualoni to hire Nolan, a beheading that I dont recall was nearly as anticipated as his now is. He could have promoted from within, and named an assistant like George Edwards DC. But Edwards, possibly forseeing his own head about to roll, for failing to teach Wake to play the run last season, had already vacated his post at Linebacker coach, a position Sparano wasted little time filling with Bill Sheridan. Ultimately Chan Gailey named Edwards his DC. Perhaps removing "Sparano", would have turned us into the Buffalo Bills?
It's funny, a lot of us fans are just as up and down as the team is. We lose, we're all calling for Sparano's head. We win and we're singing his praises and prattling on about goosebumps. I'm trying to be in the middle. I want to see Sparano coach this team to two victories in a row and actually beat a poor team at home before I get any goosebumps. And for those of you keeping track at home, his locker room speech has been pretty much identical after every win - "Too come into this place and blah blah blah... All week long all we heard is you can't... It takes Heart... I'll see you Wednesday!!!" I mean, every coach probably does a slight revision of the same speech, so I'm not faulting him for that. I just feel like as fans we need to be reminded that this is a coach who clearly needs to do more to keep a team motivated after victories and prevent these letdowns that we have been seeing all season long.
give him 1 year with a new OC and some playmakers on O .... then we can really tell .... i still feel that there is some lack of preparation that is reflected in our execution on game day .... especially on O ... on D i think we are very close to having a dominant D .... we just need to replace Crowder, whether that means moving Misi inside and getting another OLB, moving Wake to the Weak side -- we have some options ... but we are set in our secondary and line with what we have and what is developing. O, O, O in this draft with playmakers at a premium .... IF we get Mankins, then we just need a rocket at WR or a Percy Harvin type and a new RB .... and a couple new OL prospects and we will be in business for the next 3-5 years ....
Not necessarily. Look at what happened to the Dallas defense this season before Wade got the ax. You've got to have good coaching and good leadership for them to play up to it.
I would love to see one of these videos after a loss. Sparano's post game after a win is usually the same - still amazing, but usually the same; "You guys came into this place when people told you that you couldn't...kay" "What you did in this hostile place...kay" "You guys practiced hard all week and it showed...kay" "What did I tell you guys all week...you..." I love them though, great post game speeches. I'm just really curious what he said after games like CHI and CLE.
