It was designed (to help them score a TD) to change the outcome of a game though, and until all film is reviewed we cannot say it hasn't.

No kidding!! and if the NFL buys this BS story from the Jets, theyre just as pathetic as the Jets themselves IMO.

I don't doubt for one second that Alosi is just the sacrificial lamb here in all of this. He keeps his job when all is said and done, so why would he roll over on Rexy and rat him out? Especially when you know he's probably going to be awarded a bonus from the team behind the scenes that's going to pay that big old fine anyways. Complete joke really.

Westoff is claiming to have no knowledge that this wall thing was going on??? I'm not sure if this article was posted, but here's a good quote from it:

Westhoff added that other teams may use the wall, and singled out the New England Patriots as one that has.

"I'm not accusing the Patriots of doing something wrong," Westhoff said. "Maybe they're doing something smart. Watch the tape, you tell me."

So let me see if I get this straight..Westhoff knows what New England is doing on thier sidelines and watches tape of it...YET...he has NO IDEA what is happening on the Jet sideline...no idea at all. He can recognize INSTANTLY what it is...except on his OWN sideline...hmmmmmm:)

We should have Paul Soliai be the gunner next time we play the jests, and just mow the whole lot of them down. After they lose half of their staff and bench players to big Paul, maybe they will back up a bit. ;-)

Another thing that seems strange... Inactive players apparently were mainly the ones lined up with Alosi on the sideline... One of those inactive players, Cumberland, has stated that they were instructed to line up along the line as close as possible. So... those players take orders from the strength and conditioning coach on what to do on punt returns when inactive? Really? I mean come on, lets give our heads a shake here. Since when does a strength and conditioning coach instruct players to do on the sidelines during the game, especially with regards to a tactic like this. No doubts in my mind they were indeed instructed by Westhoff, or Ryan. No way this is Alosi, and only Alosi's idea. Just doesnt make sense.

Basically they know that you can cheat against the Dolphins and we'll just put up with the late hits, chop blocks, holding, and a million other cheap things. After all the Dolphins didn't file the complaint against the Pasties for spygate, Mangini and the JETS did. The Dolphins haven't had any respect in this league since Shula retired. I can't wait for the day that this changes. It is long overdue.

The JETS must have very little faith in their abilities as a football team if a whole group of coaches have to bushwhack one of our rookies like that. I think they are suffering from a bad case of "***** ENVY".

Um, I think it should have read like this:

Rex Ryan: You use words like honor, code, loyalty...you use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. We use 'em as a punchline.

Maybe of the NFL did a better job investigating "Spygate" and prosecuting someone for the corporate fraud that it was, people wouldn't be tripping players in plain view of the camera and thinking that they can get away with it. This new commish of football sucks. He's everywhere he doesn't belong, and nowhere where he should be.

im honestly amazed that this story gets more attention then teams getting touchdowns against us, that they never actually achieved.
steelers this year, saints last year.

i mean it was a dirty move but nothing came of it, and the story is all over the media. yet fake points are forgotten by everyone but score keepers. and those actually affect games

I feel fine about it. I wasn't really gushing over it, but at least
he came out and said it so we could proceed on with the
discussion in a context where we knew it was him and did
    it deliberately.

I personally think it's probably somthing every NFL team does,
and I don't personally have an issue with building an obstuction
on the sideline. It's not like they have a clioaking device on.

Now, sticking the knee out is over the line.

Just like I don't have an issue with a coach grabbing a
player by the facemask, but I do have an issue with a coach
punching a player in the head.

    A rule that's not enforced isn't really a rule.

Yeah, I think it was on Monday's show where they said Solai should be used as the gunner.

When I buy the Dolphins I'm going to build a wooden fence 3ft from out of bounds.

That's called arena football and it's illegal to do in the NFL. The reason the rule is rarely, if ever, enforced is because most teams don't have personel like the NYJ. Most players, coaches, trainers, etc etc will move when a player is coming towards them.
