http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/23294/jets-playoff-hopes-took-big-hit-against-fins Fun weekend, beginning this evening, if the 49ers upset the Chargers one less team to worry about in the playoff derby.
Wow. According to the same AccuScore's simulations, I have a 9.2 percent chance of being sober for the game so the Fins are in great shape.
I really want to go into the last game of the season with a "Win and you are in" scenario, to me that would be a playoff game in Foxboro, and the ultimate "gut check" for the Sparano Phins.
I don't think that's possible Pad as we will be waiting on the Jets v. Buffallo result regardless of anything else that happens.
Make the playoffs or not, to win out makes this season much better than I expected...I said from the beginning of the season that 6-10 would be a good season....we're on schedule from what I can see. I will say that the D has outperformed for the most part. I've felt all along that without some sort of deep threat, Marshall would be wasted...Hartline was getting there, but now that's over...he's not a burner but he was the best option we had... Either way, barring a complete collapse, I can't be discouraged with how far they've come from the preseason...
Which only makes it better, they have to play to win not knowing if the Jets will win or lose that evening. That should make the Dolphins a desperate, hungry football team heading into Foxboro, I am not sure the Patriots have faced that sort of team this year.
I'm pretty sure I said we'd be 9-7 this year, and I thought that was pretty optimistic. So equaling or bettering that would make me happy.
Would be nice but... Miami is playing at home after a win, we're screwed. Seriously though, it would be nice to see the team finish strong and Henne have some better outings than his last two.
Iam on the record for 10 and 6 and being happy regardless if we make the playoffs..reasoning because the plane of progression for the third youngest team would be on point imo..
10-6 with this poor of an offense would be a massive accomplishment, especially with the 10th win coming up in Foxboro.
Unbelievable the games that have slipped by us...steeler game, brown game..Sparano is winning with an unconfident QB and below average play from their top running back.
NE will have nothing to play for, we will be facing the mighty line up of Brian Hoyer, Taylor Price and Sammy Morris.
Step 1 tonight 49ers beat San Diego. Step 2 JAGS beat COLTS. Step 3 STEELERS beat JETS. Step 4 DOLPHINS beat BILLS and Then LIONS next week. That guarantees us to be in the playoff hunt till the last week of the season. WEEK 17 DOLPHINS beat NEW ENGLAND BILLS beat JETS. Were in the dance!!!!!!!!
There goes step 1. Is there a chance, like one in a hundred? Or one in a million?
This Sunday the Rams have to beat KC, the Chiefs are no threat to our playoff chances, the Chargers are ahead of us, we need either team to lose one more game.
The biggest worry is the Dolphins themselves, imo. The Bills have a team that has improved and can be competitive and if they get some turnovers ... Add to that, the fact that we are 1-5 at home, and that makes it even tougher! Given the way we've played, I'd have to say our chances of going 10-6 are about as good as our chances of getting in the playoffs!
The Patriots have been playing on a whole new level in the last 3 games they have outscored opponents....126-34 WHEN A TEAM AVERAGES OVER 40 POINTS PER GAME AND ALLOWS 11 YOU JUST MIGHT WANT TO MAKE RESERVATIONS TO THE SUPER BOWL With only allowing 1 receiving td in 3 games...VERY,VERY,VERY DIFFICULT GAME
Well, a part of the problem is Aqua, even with 3 games left everything is still up in the air, we are behind SD and Indy, and as was pointed out, a 3 way tie does us no good as the Ravens still win it (that Browns loss was huge) so we do need SD or KC to either finish 9-7, or for SD or KC to win the division outright. Eh, things will be much clearer on Monday. Meanwhile, we have to beat the Bills this Sunday or it is Ovah!
We still have the Colts, Ravens, and Chargers to deal with besides the Jets for the last wildcard spot. That loss against Cleveland really killed us.
