Misi and Wake... WOW! The Defense is playing so good right now... If only the OC would take his senility meds maybe we could show some offense.

good read. As long as he keeps improving he will be a really good player in this league.

In my opinion they both should go to the Pro Bowl. No doubt in my mind has they solidified their positions for the upcoming seasons. Perhaps next year they will draft some depth to strengthen the position even more....just my thoughts on it.

It's interesting that he really seems to be getting a lot better in his run and coverage duties at the same time that he starts slumping a little in his pass rush duties.

One thing about the pass rush though is while everyone knows he's raw, he's also consistently facing the best pass protectors on the opposing offense. He rushes over Left Tackle and has to take on guys like D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Matt Light, Bryant McKinnie, Chad Clifton, Max Starks, Andrew Whitworth, Michael Oher, Michael Roos, and Joe Thomas.

Do you really think they would invest in a player that had so many off-field issues? But then again would he want to be in a backup role?

Agree. He is doing very well in all other aspecets of his game, aside from the sacks. As I posted before, Misi has said straight out that other team have adapted to his bull rush which had some success earlier this year. It is his only move.

I can almost guarantee that next season will be different. I believe Misi has done much more than I thought he would his first season in changing positions from DE to LB. Next year, he will be stronger, smarter, and with another move or two.

    He has really impressed me.

I'm impatient with young players..... Misi sucks.
He should have at least 8 sacks by now.
I expect a Pro Bowl season from all Dolphins immediately. They should develop in their first camp in their first year as a starter. If they don't we should bench them and go with a washed up veteran. That will work out better. They should bench Misi and start Moses. Wait this is the defense. They have common sense on that side of the ball.

Misi is doing just fine. Will be damn good if developed properly and given time to fully learn the game. :wink2:

Your sarcasm is comical but idiotic. Koa Misi isn't out there throwing 3 interceptions against the freaking Browns now is he?

That will be the thing to look for next season is to see whether Misi has added new moves to his pass rushing.

Fellas, that was a puff piece, I like Misi so do not get it twisted, but it boils down to "Misi is playing good".

If MDC wanted to keep it real, that article should have been about Q Moses, who has made plays he rarely made the last 3 seasons in the last two games.

Q is a FA, Misi is the high draft pick, one is likely to be around in 2011, one is not..thusly the puff piece.

I'm with you on this but man do I like his strength. The play when Hartsock had every bit of Misi's facemask and turned his head around. Misi still made the tackle.

    Wow that was impressive.

Saw him playing inside a few times on Sunday. That was interesting.

WTF? What does a thread about Koa Misi's progress have to do with Chad Henne? Stop trying to turn every single thread into a Henne debate.

A puff piece from miamidolphins.com? No way!

In all seriousness though, and nothing against the OP what so ever, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw the link.

I know right, what were the odds?!?!

Well the actual positive thing is Koa's learning curve is still heading upwards, sometimes with young players they plateau Koa is only improving, heck the whole defense is, which we should have expected after the murderers row of Offenses we played prior to the last 3 games or so.

This is the time the defense really should be stomping teams.

i think misi has played well for a rookie. he hasn't set the world on fire but he's been effective. if he improves on his pass rush next year look out. but like the article points out he's doing the most important thing, setting the edge

I like Misi and he started the season very well but
he just may have hit the rookie wall

10 tackles in the past 5 games...0 sacks in the past 7 games

Koa Misi has Matt Roth type numbers minus the sacks. Talking about 2008 when Roth transitioned to OLB of course. Roth had 5 sacks, did a great job setting the edge and was a young player on this football team.

His edge setting getting better is exciting but so is the fact that his coverage is getting a lot better. Seems like forever ago that we had a linebacker actually intercept a ball in coverage, like Misi nearly did a few weeks back. Last year Crowder intercepted a ball that was thrown right to him because a DL was wrapped around Brady's ankles, that's hardly actually making a play in coverage. Torbor caught a pick that was tipped up in the air by a DL at the line of scrimmage, again not exactly a coverage thing. Then there was that weird @ss interception play that Jason Taylor had against the Bucs last year where the guy caught the ball and fell to the ground and then the ball popped up and JT grabbed it and they ruled it a pick. Those have been the only LB interceptions we've had in the last two years.
