With no franchise QB will that hurt our coaching hiring (if there is one of course)

Henne is not as attractive to come and coach as Schaub. Will that hurt us in getting someone like Cowher and will having Henne as just about the only option for QB deter some coaches from coming here ? How badly have Sparano & Ireland screwed up if that is the case ??????

There are only 32 NFL jobs. They are all attractive on some level.

For us, we have good ownership, great tradition, etc. It won't be hard for us to attract a coach. As long as the new guy gets to pick the QB, there is no problem.

They have a good defense, solid-to-very good offensive line (when healthy), and they play in Miami...who would want to take that job?

Seriously, they are a good QB, WR, and TE away from being a damn good team.

This is why I think Cowher would be a great fit. The core in place I think would suit him just fine. It wouldn't be a total rebuilding project. Cohwer has taken teams repeatedly to the playoffs and even to the Super Bowl with Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, Cordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox, and then when he gets Big Ben the team goes 15-1 the first year and wins the Super Bowl the next year before retiring.

to me i almost think the opposite would be better for him....to come to a team with a good core of offense and a defense that he can rebuild to his liking and in his image. so really, what would cowher do for us? we already have a good D.

Forget the WRs and the TE even. They pale in comparison to a quarterback and I'm not even asking for an amazing quarterback. Someone in the 10-20 surrounded by an excellent team can take this team all the way.

It could hurt but I still think it's a more attractive job than Houston. Now New York might be a different story... cross your fingers Coughlin turns things around in the last two games.

Most new HCs want their own guy so I don't think it hurts us!
