Sounds like to me that Sparano is done and he knows it....

we do not have talent on offense. we have jake long and a few receivers. there isnt a coach out there that would get this offense humming

ne is great because they have tom brady. we have chad henne

Bahahaha catch my breath roflmao Bahahaha I am from Tampa and have seen damn near everyone of Gruden games! He does not develop mental toughness in a QB! He crucifies and crushes weak souls! Chris Simms played an entire game with a busted Spleen and damn near died that evening needing emergency surgery for internal bleeding because he was afraid to tell/disappoint Gruden! To me successful with Gruden you need to have the fire Jobnson and Gannon had and be willing to get in his face to defend your read! Henne would go shiver in the corner and piss like a beat puppy! Gruden comes to town and Henne is on the next thing burning gas out of town compensation or not!

It was 30 dropped interceptions! Which is exactly why this is not a championship caliber defense! Championship caliber defenses make plays, cover the tight end, and lock it down on critical third downs!

Can't put the cart before the horse, right now the Cowher thing is still a rumor would be way to early to get rid of Sparano right now. If we can't get Cowher probably better to let Sparano have another year with a new OC.

I don't want Webb, Thigpen, or Henne. I want a QB who can come in and be a competent
QB for this team. The fact that Webb, Thigpen, and Henne are even being discussed as one better than the other. Simply shows that when discussing Henne. He is only comparable to the backups on most teams. If you are asking if I want Henne over Ryan,
Cassel, Sanchez, Stafford, Bradford, and Flacco. All young QB's who have been starters for only the last 2-3 years. No, I would not take Henne over any of these other young QB's.
That includes Sanchez. If Henne played on the team with any of these QB's listed. He would be their backup.

Wait wait wait. That's pushing it. The team at full health had a very good pass protection line, two decent RBs at this point, one good TE, and 3 good WRs. That's better than a number of teams out there and Henning/Henne made terrible use of it. It's not an amazing offense but Cleveland's isn't remarkably better. They have a better interior line, we had a better RT at full health. We had better WRs by far.

The pass catching threats and RBs the team needs to acquire are not a major issue. That can always be done once the foundation is there. The QB position and the line must be fixed to top form. After that everything falls in place.

He was pretty badly hurt from week six or seven onward. He was good before that.

They'll be out by next Monday. Ireland has a shot at sticking around I think.

I think with Ireland it is going to come down to how many of these players were because of him and how many are because of him, if you know what I mean.

If Ireland can show that his draft was a success, that he brought in players that made a difference, and that his positive player to negative player ratio is high on the positive end...then yeah, he might stick around.

Maybe you heard 30 interceptions but after the last game it was up to 18 dropped interceptions
I'm positive because I posted the link and article...if I get a chance I'll look up my post
and re post it here if you would like.
It itemized each drop with player and game and date.

This would be a solid first step. But the coach can't coach, what the coach aint got. We need s serious influx of talent for the next coach to work with. We have no speed, no deep threat, no big arm, a flatfooted DB and a QB that is so predictable his passes are being batted down by linemen, yes linemen! I hope the changes that you suggest are accompanied by several others. But you are correct: this is a start.

everyone keeps saying that but going 7-1 on the road after beating a bunch of backups next week (...hopefully...maybe...) would be just as impressive as the 1-7 is upsetting.

He is coming off a bad experience in KC and is having the time of his life working at ESPN.

I doubt he wants back into the game.

Not to mention...he is better at quotes than winning games (though we all know you play to win the game).
