I wasn't a fan of his politics or gutter humor but he was an icon in South Florida radio. He was a genuine nice guy. RIP Neil http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/12/24/1987682/radio-icon-neil-rogers-dies-at.html
RIP Neil...My Dad used to listen to him in the car back on the WIOD days, he was on either before or after Rick and Suds IIRC. My favorite spoof song on his show:
He was an athiest so I am not sure how to say it, but May God have mercy on his soul. RIP I had countless hours of laughs while I was at work in the late 1980's through most of the 1990's listening to Neil.
My dad was a huge fan. RIP Neil. May they have naked Ray Whitney's in your afterlife. (Even though he was an atheist)
So long Neil.. I grew up listening to Neil and Hendrie... Talk radio will never be what it was back in the 80's and early 90's..
As a kid, I won Windows 95 during an on-air contest he was having. He said he was "pulling names out of hat," to see who would win. I called and later won, but figured it was because I was a kid and he just wanted me to have it. Anyways, his on-air persona was pretty misanthropic, but a nice person in "real life." RIP
