You (yes you) come in as the new head coach of this team. You see that the Defense although aging ranked in the top 5 last year. You have the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and Zach and some young and upcoming talent as well (Crowder, Roth etc.)

You're coming to a team that fell short of expectations the year before (Hell, they were the "sexy pic" of some publications and "experts" to go the Superbowl.) You're told that the offense needs to improve especially in QB play so you make it a point to bring in a veteran that although had a concussion the year before, threw for over 4,000 yards a couple of times with Larry, Mo, and Curly as his wide receivers and a great tight end.

You have a gutsy slot receiver (not a #1) that returns kicks for decent yardage but doesn't strike fear into opponents (ala Hester) that it changes the other teams game plan and you're offered a #2 and #7 pick for him. (I do think that Welker got screwed by the Patsies cause they offered him a different contract first - but that's another rant)

The draft comes - Do you pick Quinn a QB that everyone wants even though it looks like he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on a consistant basis. Do you go Defense and help that 4th ranked D get younger even though you were probably brought here for your offensive coaching abilities. I just wondered (be honest) how many of us would have cried and stomped our feet if we picked a Defensive player. "What the hell - We have the 4th best Defense - we picked up Porter which will only make us better - our offense sucks - and this idiot pick Defense - Defense?"

Now I am not a Cameron proponent but I would like to see him here at least 1 more year. With all the injuries and our Defense falling flat on it's face, I believe he does deserve at least that consideration. This organization needs some sort of consistancey (sp?) What would you have done differently?

Hindsight is 20-20. But if my pre-offseason and pre-draft mocks came true, I don't think we'd be in this kind of predicament. And I think some of the posters here would be better at game management than Cameron himself.

I would think new owners Ross and Perez will want to clean house and hire their own coach.

Honestly what your saying is he was brought into a team with some talent, not a complete rebuilding process. basically a Care-Taker.

You take control of the offense, let the current defensive coordinator take that side of the ball, your an offensive guru so get it done as a caretaker.

Problem is your offense has regressed under your control, your defense has sprung more leaks than an old wooden bucket, your special teams has look anything but special. Your offensive skills have resulted in plenty of bone headed calls, timeouts, and clock management issues. Yeah you have had some injuries but stick that crap in your pie hole and bit me.

Not one team in this league has gone un-hurt in KEY positions, and 31 other teams have managed to win at least 2 games while we are still sniffing at ONE, I can not believe were still looking for our first win in 2007 in week 14, Hell can we at least say we won or tied the bi-week??

Cam Cameron might be a nice guy, hell a great offensive coordinator, and a nice kisser for all I know or care. He was brought here to BUILD on what we have instead we find ourselves in a worse mess than the New Orleans Saint's the year Katrina happened. They did not have HOMES, a Home Field, a training facility and they managed to make this team look bad... No sir you were brought here to improve our team and in short matter you have DESTROYED the locker room, the morale, the talent level of this team, our rookie QB's confidence in 07. You have destroyed our hopes of the playoffs, our hopes of competing in our division.

You sir are the captain of this ship, and as captain you should go down with the ship...
Thank you for your time, but I have seen Zip, Zilch, Zero, Nada, Improvement in this team.. Wait offensive line has gotten slightly better while the entire rest of the team goes south...

The team has been playing hard, but not for you CAM. They are playing to get the hell off this ship. Auditioning for some team that has visions of playoffs in their heads.. They also do not wan't to be THAT team that goes 0-16 you know the FIRST ONE in THE HISTORY of the NFL.. That's a bad thing to place on your resume you know.

Cam do the fan's a favor and resign..I have no faith that Wayne has the balls to tell you your fired, so please just move on the College where you might have a better shot, because with you at the helm the Miami Dolphins have a long hard road ahead of them.. Even without you it will be a mess, but at least the fans might get some justice.

We heard this last year too.

I'll believe Wayne is selling the team when I see the new owner's press conference. Even then I may require four full bottles of Grey Goose to help lube the ol' brain cells.

It took at least a year for the Vikings to be sold by McCombs, and they don't own their stadium, and Wayne was asking a mere qtr billion more then the estimated price for the Dolphins...

Great post...except all the points are wrong.

Its funny how so many people think our record should improve DURING A REBUILDING PROCESS. We were a 6 win team a year ago. 6 wins. That means two wins away from being mediocre, and people are upset that we still suck, WHILE WE REBUILD. Yet, this year we were within 3 points of winning the same amount games we won last year...WHILE WE WERE REBUILDING!

I'm sure there are a number of teams who've had their 1st, 2nd, & 3rd string RBs injured, the 1st string QB, there #1 WR gone and the #2 WR playing injured, a line anchored by a rookie where no player is playing at the position they played the year before, and have had to start a rookie QB for 4 games because of pressure from above, who have put up lots of points!:001_rolleyes:

Cam and "rebuilding" was never mentioned in the same breath when he was hired Finascious, and for me that is the problem with Cam the Rebuilder, it was supposed to be Cam the Offensive Magician..

INOW, is Cam the HC to rebuild this team?

    And "why"?

Cam-Moron came in and instead of adding to a 4th ranked defense he subtracted key reserves and a team leader in Kevin Carter. On offense instead of adding again he subtracted! Wes Welker a player who was our slot reciever and 1 target on 3rd down, returned both kicks and punts and was even our field goal kicker when Mare got hurt. If the Pats wanted to give that much up that was good enough reason to turn them down and pay Wes what you deserved. We also tosssed away our backup running back which the Pats quickly scooped up. Our No.1 tightend was replaced him with a joke.
Harrington who had won games was also let go along with Culpepper. He traded a fifth for Scrambled Eggs Trent Green! Then on draft day he passed on Brady Quinn for Ted Ginn. For all of you out there creaming yourselfs about Ted Ginn's on pace for 2,000 all purpose yards. Remember 90% of those yards are off kickreturns. Why because the other teams score so much on us Ginn is getting alot of kickreturns and still doesnt get a TD!

Throw in all the boneheaded decisions he has made in games and his complete lack of emotion and passion. Mr. H is in panic talking about selling the team Jason Taylor wants out. 0-16 is around the corner.... FIRE CAM NOW. If Wayne comes out at the end of the season and says that Cameron will coach the team in 2008 there is going to be a major problem with the season ticket holders. Remember most of you guys watch the games on TV but do not shell out the few thousand bucks it takes to be a season ticket holder and we dont like to go and pay to see a team suck this bad.

Miami won 9 games in '05, then 6 games in '06. In the vast majority of cases, an improvement or decline by 3 games or more is followed by a rebound in the other direction the following season. It's a very simple and sensible criteria that many people here in Las Vegas use for wagering on the over/under on season wins. I forget the specific percentage but it's something well beyond 60% that the teams return closer to the previous level.

So that demonstrated that the '06 playoff or Super Bowl talk was phony, since the upswing from 4 wins in '04 to 9 wins in '05 likely would be followed by a crash in '06. And it was. But it also means that the Cameron apologists who are claiming it's a pure rebuilding year and he had nothing to work with are way off base, at least in historical terms. This should have been a season with a boost back toward .500, and indeed that was the projection, with a season win over/under of 7 to 7.5.

It can't understated how severely we have underachieved. And the injury excuse is garbage. I've had to follow every team for 20+ years in this town as part of my job or simply for wagering purposes. Miami '07 is hardly an alltime example of a crippled team. Some teams have lost entire units and played linemen off the street game after game. The Dolphins have lost a player here and a player there.

Well, since you are using odds makers to prove its Cameron's fault, I guess I can't argue with that. I mean beyond 60%! Wow, thats a guaranteed result. Seriously, that's amazing. I mean if I needed surgery and the doctor told me I have a 60% chance of making it, I would feel great!

Soooooooo, by the by, does that mean 40% of the teams didn't go up in wins????

Again, how can you argue with such an exact science?

Sure. Ok. Our injuries are only here or there? Brilliant.

I'm one of the few who actually has liked the job Cameron has done overall. I think it took alot of guts to drain the team of its overpriced talent. For a first year coach that speaks greatly that the guy understands the big picture. I think he's had a lot of bad luck with this season. Startngoff the season it was obvious that players were still getting comfortable to Cameron's offensive schemes. Then the injuries hit. Those two combined derailed the season and may end up costing us an 0-16 season. I for one, think its meaningless. I've always said there's one winner and 31 losers. People are making more out of 0-13 that it really means. Right now we're fielding a practice squad out there due to the injuries. If we actually win one game in the next three it would be a miracle in my ook. I hope he gets it, because I would like to see him have a full roster, with his players, who have had a full season in his system. I honestly think if he comes back, good things will start to happen in 2008

Adam hes also drained the team of respect, hope, and fanbase.

Players have little respect for him and even the 'Coaches-Boy' Jason Taylor cant get along with him. Lets not even get into what other teams in the league think of us at 0-13.

It looks like now we will need to find ANOTHER coach to begin the rebuilding process and in doing so hes going to want to bring in his own players and system, what we see on the field now isnt going to be out there for very long. That includes some of the good young talent we have.

Over the last 3-4 years I've been noticing a slow decline in the fanbase where I go to watch the games. 5 years ago there were around 20 Dolfans in the sports bar I go to (In Maryland, and its not a Dolphins Bar) and each year its gone lower and lower. Its now at the point I'm one of 4 Dolfans that attend on a weekly basis. It would take a Blind person to not notice all those empty seats at Dolphins Stadium too.

Part of the problem is the owner - he wants to win and all the time. I can understand that, however, getting FAs and drafting poorly hurts any team. The owner also likes one big boss, that's why he likes a head coach/GM type - that's too much for one person in this day and age. He finally realized that and split the tasks.

Now to Cameron. Has he made first year HC mistakes? Yes. Has he changed the offense to fit the players as injuries occurred? Yes. Has he showed the guts to rebuild and take the heat? Yes.

I say Cam comes back and he's allowed to fininsh what him and Mueller started. Face it we needed to rebuild, let's do and move on to winning.

I was under this same affliction at the start as well. Ok we have an offensive coach to shore up are already top 5-10 defense. So just tweak the offensive side to make us win a fe more games and possibly look at a wild card..

When Cam was hired he said NOTHING about rebuilding, he said we have the talent here to win now.. That sounds like rebuilding. He's ruined the moral of this team to the point that players are openly speaking to the press about his lack of leadership and direction, and play calling. :confused2:

Lets fast forward to 2008 Free Agency. Your Asante Samuel or another key free agent target this year. Or an up and coming Journeyman free-agent would you even think of coming to a team that Just completed the worst football record in history of The NFL? If so at what cost? This team CAN not be built alone on draft choices you have to spatter in some leadership through free-agency. With a 30 Million dollar first round player more than likely coming in and holding out, all that free money will be blown on attracting talent as they know they have no chance of winning that superbowl the next few years. :confused1:

Also with Jason Taylor, Keith Traylor, Zach Thomas, :wheelchair: and a few other defensive players on the verge of retiring, being traded we now have plenty of talent leaving the defense so cam can now worry about that as well.

All is not doom and gloom, anything can happen but my faith, my time, and my money are taking a vacation from the team I have rooted for for 20 years now..:surrender:

I was expecting them to draft a defensive back and solidfy the defense. I didn't think Brady Quinn would be around when the Dolphins drafted. I don't care about that right now anyway I haven't lost all hope on Beck.

What I didn't expect was to cut the depth on the defensive line and still do nothing to fix the secondary. They added a quality LB in Porter but the cost was alarming. I use to think Defensive Lineman grew on trees becuase it seemed the Dolphins had an endless supply of them over the last few years. After shipping out most of the defensive line the Dolphins wonder why Zach Thomas has a concussion in week 2 or 3 (whatever it was) and they can't stop run or get any pressure on QBs.
