Am I the only one that thinks like this might be a good possibility? I mean, we really don't know what we have with Ireland, and if most of these moves were Parcells or not. Sparano has a hand in personel decisions, but most likely he has more input at the OL position then any others(pure speculation on my part).

Outside of our OL and QB position, I still think the Management has done a pretty good job with completely rebuilding this team. Finding gems and never stop looking.

IDK, just a possibility, it would also probably help to keep Nolan around if he were passed over for the head coaching position.

    Odrick
    McDaniels
    Langford
    Dansby
    Dobbins
    Wake
    Misi
    Clemons
    Vonte
    Sean Smith
    Rashad Jones
    Marshall
    Fasano
    Long
    Bess
    Hartline
    Ricky
    Carpenter

I mean take a look at the roster before Management took over and what they have accomplished in terms of roster turnover since.

Now I really like the emphasis of bigger stronger, more physical football team. It keeps us in games usually with teams we shouldn't be, like the Steelers. But there has to be more emphasis on team speed at the skill positions like RB, WR and TE in the near future.

Now that is one suggestion that I could get on board with.

Not sure how you can fire a coach that had Chad Henne as his QB, then keep the person that drafted Henne.

need to keep Ireland & his scouting cadre
this is the one legacy Bill Parcells has left
worth keeping in the wake of his departure
that has lived up to hype

If it weren't for the talent Ireland brought in, we'd be 3-13. Ireland and Nolan need to stay.

Mike Nolan would have no reason to stay if hes passed over for the HC job. The guy can be a DC anywhere.

Has everyone forgotten that Parcells is largely responsible for this mess. Does anyone really think that Ireland made those decisions with full automony from Parcells? Keep Ireland.

Have no problem keeping Ireland at all. But I think Carl Peterson will have some input with Ross on this.....

Wish we would make a hard sell at Jim Harbaugh.....would love a Jim Harbaugh....Mike Nolan....Chad Pennington coaching team....

No offense but either you believe in the "big & slow" is better philosophy or you don't. There's no I like big players but we need to add speed too. It's either/or.

From the very beginning I said it was a flawed philosophy in today's NFL. I was one of the few who were against parcells coming to SoFLA since day zero. That's right, day zero - during the 1-15 season I said he should NEVER, EVER be involved with our Phins, even before wayne got wind of the rumors.

But to the topic. Ireland? Really? The same guy who was pissed at this year's pre-draft presser when asked relevant questions about JT's status w/the team? The arrogance he showed despite not accomplishing a damn thing in the NFL? The same one who disrespected a Dolphins great in Zach?

Question, if anyone else besides parcells hired ireland to be GM of any team, does ireland arrogantly ask a draft prospect if his mom was a pro? The same guy who tinkers with an nfl roster as if he was playing FFootball with unlimited transactions? Just because you make moves doesn't mean they're the RIGHT moves. I swear it's like he keeps making moves to try to prove to the owner that's he's constantly working, regardless of the results.

The same guy who hastily gets rid of players without getting anything in return. Prematurely puts players we could use later in the season on IR? The same gm who gutted the interior Oline? The same guy who was on board with the henne, pwhite & pturner picks but you now trust to find us our franchise qb and receiving threat opposite Marshall?
    That guy?

Really ? Tell who on OFFENSE that Ireland has drafted ? He found Bess as a FA but he should have been a luxury not a make up for lousy draft picks.

    Friend DolfanJake:

everyone who follows Bill Parcells knows:

    1) he always begins in the trenches (offense & defense) in a rebuilding project
    2) then proceeds to develop his defense & special teams
    3) he has never been known as an offensive guru
    4) his relative weaknesses have been with QB's & WR's
    5) Bill Parcells calls the shots, always. I believe when Sparano bucked him with Henne this year & failed with the offensive line,
he simply walked away from a losing proposition.

I attribute the development of an excellent GM & Scouting Cadre to what Bill Parcells does & knows best. I'm sure Ireland was in lock step with Parcells, especially on the early draft decisions. Can you imagine anything else? Ireland, the Scouting Cadre & Nolan are all keepers, not to worry...

hmmmm, this sounds vaguely familiar with Nick ... and he was/is vilified ... but Parcells hasn't / didn't do a good job with the OL here - no matter how many rocks they've flipped and threw at the problem set. If he had, we'd be in a much different position than we are right now. The only difference between Saban and Parcells is that Saban actually did value speed and playmakers ... but we also have seen how hard it is to find ones that actually pan out given Ronnie and Jason A. .... though i do think Ronnie could be a Percy Harvin / Reggie Bush type guy, but we just haven't gone that way with him. Oh, and Saban actually had pretty good coordinators under him on BOTH sides of the ball !

okay if that's the case, then lets just do it, get rid of these guys. Its a tough world, you did what you could, and now its time for the next guys to come in and complete the job. If not you are just expecting the impossible from these guys, they just have a flawed philosophy in today's NFL. Its offense and passing oriented, and that is not these guys bag. Got it, Ross should get it too and make the necessary moves to get this team back on track.

If Sparano is fired then everyone should be fired. There is almost nothing worse than firing the coach and keeping the GM.

Parcells had the final say on all of our draft picks thus far, and to date Jeff Ireland has never seen the inside of an NFL Draft unsupervised. Ireland was nothing more than an NFL scout since 2001, which is little else than a paid bleacher sitter with a notebook. Parcells himself knows that Ireland can't go it alone which is why he is still helping with the "talent end". If Ireland was so great - why is TUNA in this stupid position? I think Ireland was yet another battlefield promotion who is doing a fair job at best, but don't look for miracles because he still needs to be nursed along. Tuna loves big players and Ireland loves speed - it will be interesting to see who wins.

keep the GM & fire the HC. Parcells placed Sparano not Ireland.

for me it is difficult in some way decide if I want Sparano or Ireland back, because we don't know how things exactly worked last two years...

I mean: there have been some very bad moves (pat white, pat turner, wilson at safety, grove, wilford, merling considering where we draft him, etc.), but also some very good moves (Wake!, Bess) and some solid (davis, sean smith, clemons, hartline, polite, mac daniel, langford, starks, pennington) ... I just don't know who really is responsible for these choices...

for example: why did we make that bloodbath the last days of training camp? Who wanted Bobby carpenter? who "discovered" Wake? Ireland? .......Parcells?!
who is responsible for the Offensive line mess? and so on....

People, I'm glad we have Wake, but we did not "discover" nor "find" him. The NFL took notice of his time in Canada and wanted him. The FO did not use their superior talent eval skills. Credit them for being part of the group of teams that wanted his services. He chose us.

So we're praising them for winning a bidding war like it's never been done before? They also paid Grove, Wilson and Wilford more than anyone else was willing to as well. Wanna celebrate that?
