You bring in injury-prone players, overpay them, then act surprised when they get injured?

That's just one player but the line as a whole has been decimated with injuries the past two years, I can't recall another time when we had to insert so many lineman at different positions.

7-9 again but at least there's a lot of talent on the team. Thanks Bill!!! Thanks for hiring your buddy to be the head coach instead of the most qualified candidate. Thanks for putting the infrastructure in place for the kind of underachievement we haven't seen in years.

I thank nobody for walking out on a job half assed, and leaving your boys behind to get fired, ridiculed and embarrassed...Its a punk move for a grown *** man...sometimes in life you run out of respect for another person..my time has come..

His character is in question for me..not the man I thought he was..not even close...inappropriate behavior for a man accepting that position...He's dead to me...I hope karma comes back on him bigtime...

If ross decides to fire Irish and Sparano then what are you gonna thank him for?

I agree about Henne, I do believe he is the root of our problems, however, that is not my issue..it is much deeper than that, its about finishing and doing whats right and responsible for a franchise that gave you millions, its about competetive spirit and accomplishment, its about earning respect and preserving your name with integrity..Ive said this before..Fu$# that..Fu%4 him..and Fu%$ the diaz brothers..

Ross showed no signs of intervention, and an open wallet..thats your crutch prez..still doesn't justify the snake escape..running a multimillion dollar franchise is not gonna be all rosey and perfect for anyone..He should of dealt with the situation like a real man would of.

so what if hes won the championship before, what the hell does that do for you and us?..This is about respect..earning respect moving forward, not taking it for granted for what you did in your past...

Bottom line...he did a very, very, poor job of executing his position, and he did it with no class and no dignity.

You are right on many fronts, DJ.

I am sure there is another side to the story (my guess is that he and Ross didn't gel).

But Bill could do the fans a favor, then, and explain his side of the story rather than skulk out of town on the eve of the collapse.

So, Deej, I am curious... you bought in FULLY to this regime and the code and so on.

Where would you like to see this franchise go from here?

What sort of coach? What sort of culture?

Personally, I think the problem going forward will be an antsy owner who wants glamor and simultaneously begins cutting budget while declaring we will win Superbowls. Not a Ross fan. Nor was Parcells, imo. He liked him as much as JT's Hollywood stint.

I heard Nick Saban gave Parcells advice on a good moving company that packs your house and moves you out of town in the dead of the night.

Saban and Parcells did a better job eluding fins fans and Miami media than the Von Trapp family escaping the nazis. (pictures Parcells leaving town in a glider, as it makes no noise)

I dunno man. Things are never that black and white. He came in.... Did some big things. Brought in some people. we did well. Next year he made it clear he was taking a step back. We did a little worse. This year again, he made it clear he was stepping back.... Then he's out. I'm not saying that he's an angel or that there was no wrong done on his part...

But the whole idea that he's sitting in a room saying "Oh **** this ship is sinking... I better bail out now!" is ridiculous sounding imo. What's more likely? He decided to jump ship because he saw it sinking? Or that he and the new ownership (that he was promised wouldn't happen) aren't all flowers and roses so he slowly stepped back without causing a **** storm?

Penny was never ready to start the Season and play a full game...

even after sitting out 10 games into the season he tore his shoulder again after his 1st pass play...

Onto the thread...DJ my buddy and pal from Goodwill Hunting to Goodwill Hurting...

We all knew he was going to leave anyways, and I believe he did not expect the team to respond this way this year...

As many here have mentioned, he has helped placed core of young and talented players into our D...

I believe the OL has been more of an issue with Sporano than any of the other 2 guys... Since he was an OL coach I believe that the other 2 have gone with what Tony was orchestrating...

We have young and maybe talented WR who have been brought out of the Practice Squad to fill in for injuries... and maybe in a few years they will surprise...

as for Henne, maybe the benching, the knee and the OL has affected his play more than we realize, and if that is the case, maybe he does not have the mental aspect to handle a game if he does get distracted...

Historically awful? To consistently competitive now? Both false in this fan's opinion. We went from averaging 8 wins a season during 2000-2004 to averaging 6.8 wins a season from 2005-2010. That's not during Parcells, but this is just to point out we weren't "historically" awful; we were historically better, if anything. We had two playoff appearances this decade prior to Parcells, and one with. Want to disclude 2005-2007 to make it Parcells only (given the thread)? From 2008-2010 we're still pacing Wannstedt in the average wins per year category.

Yes, because those guys all being good elsewhere at some point really helps us here.

Also, you have to wonder how people assign the "Parcells guy" title to anybody that ever worked with him. Do we really fairly evaluate that? Anyone that has ever worked with Parcells at some point in history and enjoys success becomes a "Parcells guy", and that moniker carries too much weight! I'm sure most of these guys you cite were excellent in their own right, they just happened to work on a Parcells staff at some point. I think a lot of people get called "Parcells guys" simply by association; it's not always a reasonable claim to make that because he worked with him at one point in time, that he is a "find" of Bill Parcells or that he is a disciple.

I like how all the failures never get called "Parcells guys" though.

I personally dont think he left because he thought the ship was thinking, I just think in reflection, he has handled the position's responsibilities with a complete lack of regard of what we expect from someone who accepts the position...

You just dont do what he has done, in the manner for which he has done it...

You dont leave the job unfinished, and at the least, not in the direction we are now going in {which is the unknown+ 1 and 7 at home} unless you truly did not give a sh$# to begin with.. He's gross.

And whats worse is he still has 1 year and $ 4 million dollars left to collect from us. His guys could be gone, but he will still get a check from Ross next year. That is $ 4 million by the way, that Ross won't have to spend on a FA we need. **** U Bill Parcells !

You know what KP, I really did think he was misunderstood because of certain variables in place that were out of his control, for example, i understood him leaving the position unfinished when he had no decision in buying the groceries..But here with complete autonomy I thought the man would appreciate that freedom, and take his expertise, and passion to another level.I thought he was a man of decency to the right people, and beautiful anger towards the evil ones..I thought when it came down to it, he was the kind of man that wouldnt sell you out, and would protect your back...what a sucker I am...

Ive heard the excuse's and scenario's for him in this thread, and believe me, ive thought about this as thoroughly as a fan should because of my prior respect for him, but now, I cant find a scenario that shows decency, professionalism, or even really caring about the meaning of the job..

You know what man...heres a crazy thought...maybe just maybe, in this bizarre emotional game we all play with our own personal passion for our team, he left his when he left the giants...I know personally I cannot find place in my heart for another team, so maybe there is merit in this history of a coach not being able to win championships for 2 different teams, maybe they just cant find the place in their heart to work hard enough to get the job done the 2nd, or in this case, the 4th time around. Maybe we should think about that when hiring our new leaders for our franchise.

Anyways, when someone gets paid that kind of money for themselves and family, to me,it becomes personal, it become something bigger than myself..and the work ethic would ensue, and the passion would be created...I say all that mushy sh%4 because getting paid millions to do what he was supposed to do, is a privelage for his ***, he obviously just doesn't have enough wisdom, humility or depth to understand that.

Like I said, I hope I get the chance to check his *** one day.

Deej, my goombah, you probably will not recall this but waay back in 08 a Jets fan chimed in after we beat them for the AFCE title:

"We thought the same thing to when Parcells first got here, like a airplane that is going down the runway, but something happened when it tried to take off..."

The Ironic thing is, Mike Nolan was Parcell's handpicked DC in NY in 2000..

I much prefer Irish and Sparano to Parcells, never really trusted him, appreciated that he could land us free agents, but otherwise..not so much..he is our Hyman Roth so to speak.

and what your stating is why I have defended him all year..but after the recent transpirings, and the gloom that has set over our franchise now, how can you at least not stand up and take some accountability..afterall, Ross went on the record as to how he felt about the man..

I hear what your saying though, maybe Parcells got the impression that he was gonna get squeezed by Ross and Peterson?maybe so, and if true I have the right to retract my statement's, but I doubt the situation was that bad where he couldn't make the transition and still execute what he set out to do, but if so, than I will eat my words..believe me, I want to believe what you say is true, that ross is the idiot, but I just see no evidence whatsoever to just keep quiet with such negative circumstances surrounding us.

Henne doesn't have the skillset to compete at a high level imo, athletically he cant create, nor is he explosive enough with subtle movements to extend, and make plays...Sparano is gonna get whacked for it..Hows that for some BS by his boss...He gave his handpicked coach a late 2nd round qb with too many flaws to list...and said, its your baby now...lol

I knew Parcells wasn't going to stay in Miami forever. His track record of 3 year stints in New England, New York and Dallas was my clue there, but I was under the impression that with him in the front office, he MIGHT stick around longer due to the lesser amount of stress compared to actually coaching games..and seeing how he was given full control of football operations, that job was tailor made for him to stick around for years. I too was fooled into a false sense of security. I'm not too terribly upset that Parcells left. I'm upset that he left an unfinished product...unless Parcells's only goal was to promote people to head coaching positions and general manager positions. If that was the only thing Parcells wanted to do, then mission complete.

I just don't know if Jeff Ireland has what it takes to be an effect GM for our team...my confidence in Tony Sparano is quickly shaking from the foundation as is my confidence in Mike Nolan...and I know Dan Henning needs to be taken out back and put out of our misery.
