How many teams fans are chanting their own quarterback sucks when he's going out to try and win the game?
How many teams fans are booing their own team in the first half when they are winning?
How many teams fans openly hope they lose a game?
I remember going to Dolphin-Raiders games in Oakland and how energizing it was to boo the Raiders with the Raiders fans. It always was a good sign we would kick their *** because it's so demoralizing for the home team.
Is there really any question why we are 1-7 at home? The Dolphins get more cheers on road games than at home.

If you tell someone they suck enough they will. Football is no different than real life where people will turn in to however you treat them. A friend of mine had a motto when he got married and I think it's true: If you treat your wife like a *****, she will be a *****. So he always called/treated her the "goddess" and she was.

Being a Dolphin fan kills me every Sunday. I'm in a ****ty mood the rest of the day when we lose. It hurts, and I should probably give up football because it's going to kill me, but I can't. It's one thing to hope Henning gets fired and to hope they give Thiggie a shot at QB, it's another thing to root against your team while they're out their trying to win a game.

Be a fan. Root for your team. Encourage them to win. They might surprise you.

Now I'll go hide as the flames come.

To answer your questions: a lot. Been there, seen that.
You're being overly dramatic. Seen a lot of that too.

Cheering and booing your team has nothing to do with the outcome of the game (unless you play in a dome in which case I can see the fans having an effect on the game). Frankly, the Fins players deserve to be boo'd after posting a horrific 1-7 home record. BTW, I am pretty sure Henne is not out there thinking about the Fans and their chants... if he is he is not focusing on the game and is weak minded (and that is coming from one of the few Dolphins fans that still supports Henne).

OK, that made me laugh.... what if we pick the wrong fan who doesnt look off distractions, locks on to the good and is too robotic in his booing? what then?

Every fan base is the same. Every team has good fans and bad fans. One thing that is unique to Miami is that a large part of the fan base is outside of the area around the stadium so attendance at home games is worse than many other teams.

booing him at the time when they still had a chance to win the game was one of the most embarrassing moments I've ever seen, ever heard, from my Dolfan faithfuls. I blame Obama. After all, he called the Eagles and congratulated their owner last week for giving Vick a second chance.

Ive been to one home game....and it was an early in the season MNF game vs NE......and the fans save the section I sat in cared WAY more about getting on TV than the game, and yes this includes before the flood gates opened.

Now its not fair to compare it to the "Shoe" wich seats over 100,000 screaming nutty Buckeye fans but jesus our high school football games are more passionate.

LOL. I see what you did there. Could it be we as a fan-base have not developed at all over the past 3 years and still make the same bad decisions during games? Is it true that we chuckle after missing great opportunities and simply shrug off our mistakes without making any real adjustment / improvement?

The problem with a team in the south is if the team is not doing well the fans have other things to keep them busy because of the nice weather.I live 15 min south of philly and come nov thru jan there is nothing else to do but freeze your balls off.The fans either go the game or watch it on tv that is why the eagles, bills, jets stadiums are always full because what else are you going to do.
As for the bashing of the players go to philly and listen to those fans bash players and coaches. They have been trying to run andy reid out of town for about 3 years and all he has done is take them to 5 confrence championship games. We would have built a shrine for this guy.
Philly would have tried to run marino out of town for not winning a superbowl if he played for the eagles despite allof the records.Look at mcnabb they were throwing parties when he got traded.
So my point is no team in the south will ever draw without a good product on the field and the ones that do go to the games will never be as negative as the eagles and alot of other teams like the raiders.

OK........the dolphins are best 1-7 home team in the league........ALRIGHT!!!......GO FINS.!!!!........... ummm ....should we be blind fans.....ignore it all....put on a happy face.......what would you really like us to cheer about....no.... really... what???...WHAT IS the silver lining.....are there any positive developments we missed..............wait!!! Lets celebrate because playoff tiockets are way too expensive anyway and we saved allot this year.....lets all do the wave and yell YEA!!! THE SEASON'S OVER.............

We are true fans...but not blind ones............and unless you live under a rock, fellow doplhin fan, you should feel mad, and frustrated because you care and want to see better things, and because in over 30 years, the fins have done nothing for the fans. And because for what we have to pay for a family to watch the Fins loose and bore us to death, we should demand more. Because while other teams get better and make playoff pushes, we are stuck in mediocraty with no light in sight. Becaus Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and the Venus sisters, though nice to look at, are not winning any games for us!

The Marlins -2 championships...... The Heat -1 , even the panthers GOT to the finals...............in the last 3-4 decades..........besides Marino, what have you been cheering?

No, we are not the worst fans in the NFL. If anything, we’re some of the best: we’ve put up with two decades of mediocrity and every year we come back asking “May I have another, sir?”

We are excellent fans. We buy into the hope peddled every year by the organization; we defend the roster and coaches and executive staff against the media; we accept an increase in ticket prices without complaint, because hey, this year is finally our year, right?

After two decades of broken promises, people still buy tickets—the game wasn’t blacked out locally, which means it sold out—but we’re going to wring our hands as to whether or not booing in a situation where the players snatched defeat from the jaws of victory is appropriate? In a year where they went 1-7 at home? Unacceptable and irrational. We the fan have every right to boo the crap Bill Parcells shoveled onto the field at Sun Life Stadium.

This team is blessed the fanbase didn’t boo until the last 2 minutes of the last home game of the season.

I think in some cities like Miami it is tougher being a fan than elsewhere, as far as going to the games. You have 85 degree weather almost year round, you have beautiful beaches, hot women, great clubs and restaurants. Not everyone in South Florida is going to want to roast outside for three hours. Places like Green Bay only have the Packers and nothing else. I wish I lived near Florida so I could go to the games, but I watch the games at a sport's game and have only missed one game in the past ten years.

Well, if I have one beef against "us" it is Cam Wake's jersey not being stocked at the Dolphins Pro Shop due to "a lack of interest".

Boo Henne, Boo Sparano, Wake has been nothing but gold for us, why he isn't more popular is beyond me.

No, Dolphins have passionate fans. I probably wouldn't boo, but the Dolphins are 1-9 at home in the past 10, so I can see the frustration. There are lots of crazy diehard Fins fans, especially in "The Deep End" who go all out every home game.

Most fanbases have fans that will boo when they get frustrated.

The only problem with this post is that it's been 25 years, instead of two decades. Otherwise, dead on. 25 years of futility for a franchise is a long time. While Marino entertained, there hasn't really been a single team that genuinely threatened a title, let alone a SB appearance, b/c of serious flaws either defensively or offensively in 25 years. 25 years.

The Dolphins fans ostensibly rely on three seasons - 72, 73 & 84 - in their 45 year history. Sure, Don was great for the first 16 years, having 14 winning years and his era was one that always seemed to bring up until we began to see he had lost it on the personnel side and was even getting out-coached by innovative minds (the '85 SB).

But, while boorish behavior in any circumstance is never a good thing, it certainly is still understandable given the horrific product put on the field by the franchise and those fans paid serious $$ to be at football games. They are ostensibly paying a significant chunk of the players salaries. And the product they are getting, in any other situation, would be equivalent to a "lemon" that would be returned.

Let's see the players step up and return to the fans - from their salaries - the costs of the ticket prices, food and gas expenditures. If I buy a TV or an automobile and it doesn't work - it is returned for a refund or replacement and I usually get an apology along with it. This doesn't happen in the NFL.

Instead, the "sellers/producers" drive home in their luxury automobiles to their luxury homes (for the most part) having raped the fans of another few hundred dollars of hard earned money. And then, when the fans don't support them, they get angry? Seriously?

Give me Chad Henne's contract and career outlook as a journeyman QB, and you can boo me and spit at me all day long. If I've the least bit of wisdom, I'll be retired in less than 10 (could be in 5 if I wanted to) and set for life.

Really? What games have you been watching? We've been booing all year.

The kicker is when we are going out to try and win the game and we start chanting to our quarterback that he sucks... Pretty inspiring.

I was just as pissed off watching the game as the rest of you... Swearing, breaking ****, etc..... I still cheered for the team when they are going out to try and win the game.
The fans boo'd in the first half. Give me a fu*&( break. Henne had a QB rating over 100 in the first half, and we were winning. And we are still booing?

I'm not asking anyone to turn a blind eye... I'm on the fire Henning bandwagon. I'm on the bench Henne bandwagon. I'm asking fans to cheer for their team when they are going out to try and win the game. I can't wait for the season to be over because every Sunday I'm in a depressed stupor.

I do think it's okay to boo when we are punting because we ran a 2 yard out on 3rd and 16 for the bajillianth time this season. I don't think it's okay to boo in the first half when we're winning. I don't think it's okay to chant our QB sucks when he's trying to win the game. I don't think it's okay to hope your team loses so you can get a better draft pick.

People can say the players don't care about what the fans are doing but it should be clear from the post game conferences it does matter to them.

This is just one of many examples of the fans in Philly, but there's a tradition of sorts there of throwing snowballs with D-Cell batteries in them......and openly bragging about it. I believe the grand daughter of the Cowboys owner actually got beaned in the face with one soon after walking out of a skybox.

So until we can top just that one example with a warm weather equivalent, then we might, MIGHT be able to enter the discussion. So until then........Philthadelphia reigns supreme of POS fans.

Just another example is in the early 90's I believe it was, when I felt like I narrowly got out of the old Veteren's Stadium with my life.

Interestingly enough, on the other side of the state, Pittsburgh fans made me feel the most welcome of any stadium I've been in where I was a visiting fan.

I wasn't at the stadium so I can't count myself as 'we' and 'those fans'. Usually when a team is booed, they deserve it. It doesn't always make it right but that's just how it is.

Blaming the 1-7 record on the fans, as Omar Kelly did, is asinine. We (yes we b/c I was at this game) in the home opener were as electric a crowd as I've been involved in (in Miami, 10+ games). The Jets still won. So what's the excuse then?

Even if this was true, the whole game experience would take 5 hours max each/every other Sunday. I can't possibly see how you couldn't still get food out, get laid, or go to the beach before or after games on Sunday. Green Bay I understand, Buffalo too. Those teams are all the city has (save for the Sabres but it's hockey so who cares).

There's idiots in every fan base.
    That's a fact.
Some have many more than others however and our fan base is not one of them.

The people in the section that were chanting against Henne fit the idiot description.

Having said that I am tired of the argument from some on here that we have the worst fans in the league.
    Far from it.
We have a very decent fan base.

Do you not remember just a few weeks ago playing the playoff bound NY Jets in NY and hearing their fans start to boo them after the damn 1st Qtr? They were booing their 9-3 team after 1 quarter!

How about the Tampa Bay Bucs being the only team in the NFL to have all their home games blacked out and they are a potential playoff team!

The fans that boo'd Henne that drive suck but it does not represent the Phins fan base overall.
