A good barometer on what Parcells accomplished here is looking at our record and our needs going forward. Unless we beat New England IN New England this weekend, we're staring down another 7-9 season.

So we have two 7-9 seasons to (possibly) close the chapter on this era.... Is that something you'd be satisfied with from Parcells had you known in the beginning? For me that would be only be acceptable if we did that in 2008 coming right off a 1-15 season. By the third year I'd expect to have a foundation in place along with a winning record. Because, you know.... its Parcells. Would you be satisfied with having known in advance that in 3 years we still wouldn't have a QB, and would have huge RB and TE holes to fill? What if we told you that the o-line would still be in a constant rotation? These are all issues we had before he got here as well. Aside from upgraded talent in Jake Long, are we better off there as a whole?

Aqua made another great point - we've been searching for a QB since Marino. Did Parcells find us a QB? No. He certainly tried, to his credit. But it was a failure there, can we admit that? Both his pick and his guy's picks didn't really pan out for us.

Closing out with two 7-9 seasons, not finding a QB, needing a RB, and not having the o-line sorted are all reasons I consider the Parcells experiment a failure. Here's the icing on the cake: we haven't had consecutive losing seasons under the same coach since the 60's..... until now. (and we've only had 7 coaches in 40 years, which makes this statistic even more amazing)

Is that 40-year milestone sobering enough for us to come to terms with the reality of how we shouldn't be so satisfied with this mediocrity?

    bump this piece of sh$#..

A lot of this is his fault..he put this owner in a very precarious situation on many levels...

oh man, just the thought of how he gave up his responsibilities before things played out makes me so mad..man do I want to see that man in person.

Parcells already worked his magic on my team. Left us with Al Groh.

And as a Jets fan, I've been screwed plenty.

It amazes me how many people still defend Parcells! He is a fat *** football mercenary and a fraud! He has spent his entire career searching for absolute power to prove his way works. There is always 2 outcomes 1. His ways doesn't build Championships 2. He quits when it starts to come apart. He is a good coach and a crap GM! The proof is his 3 Superbowl appearances came when he had no personnel power.

He is the biggest smoke and mirrors fraud in NFL history! He preys in broken desperate fan bases, and leaves them with mediocrity!

Pieces in place? We are unsettled at 4 of our 5 positions at oline. We have one mediocre TE and a bunch of scrubs. We have 2 aging slow RBs well one really because Ricky isn't under contract and he wont be coming back. We have no speed at WR. Our defense still can't cover a TE and loves to surrender a big play on 3rd and long. Channing Chowder still has a job. Our GM is a 1 trick pony who only knows how to dig through the Cowboys trash. Ugggg Sparano is back!

Now here is my absolute favorite! This just shows the level of denial in.some and it is deep! WE ONLY NEED A QB! They will handle that this year. Really? In year 4 of the rebuild? Curious how many QBs have we started since Marino? 18, 19? Yeah it is so friggen easy to find one! Yet we continue to fail at drafting and developing one, trading for one, or signing a free agent!

Parcells sucks! He is a fraud and a thief!

Parcells took the job on the condition that Huizenga remain as the owner,, and a year later Wayne sold the team to Ross. If anything it was Parcells who got screwed. He stayed a couple years, did an above average job, and left. He gets paid whether he lifts a finger or not. If you'd show up to work for a guy you never wanted to work for, even if you could sit on your *** and make the same $$$, raise your hand...

    And slap yourself with it.

Ok well here is my 2 cents on this issue. Bill Parcells is a JET always was a JET and always will be a JET. He is laughing all the way to the bank. He actually got control of an arch rival and torched it. Insuring his team the JETS will prosper.

How else can you explain it.

Yeah Parcells sure got screwed getting paid millions with no commitment to actually having to do anything. That poor old fool. If this is overachieving I'm just going to quit watching football right now. We're supposed to accept his half*** job because he didn't get to work with his golfing buddy anymore? I'm sure Ross walked in and started treating him like crap. In the real world bosses change. But also in the real world you don't get paid for doing nothing.
