have you been eating mushrooms or something similar tonight? So would this be considered 12 men on the field, or does the 1 uniform prevent that?.... and which one actually gets to carry the ball? :shifty:

It was me who said Ricky is a better all around back, and he is. How can Ronnie Brown's tip toe dancing, running parallel with the line of scrimmage crap trump the vision, decisiveness, and quickness to the holes that Ricky brings? And when there is no hole, Ricky makes one as opposed to waiting to be tackled at the line or in the backfield. Truth is, Ricky Williams is a more fearless runner. And I'd venture to say that opposing defenses prefer to see Ronnie in over Ricky. Ricky and Ronnie are equal receivers out of the backfield. Say what you want to say about Ronnie's receiving "prowess." But it is no more impressive than Williams. Williams also sets up screen passes better (the blockers). Ronnie is a little better blocker than Ricky, but not by a ridiculous margin. And I'll have to say that Ricky, in the open field, is a faster runner than is Ronnie. Some will argue that they had equal or so run times in the 40. But there is a thing called "game-speed" that Ricky has that Ronnie doesn't. Ricky and Ronnie both are liking wrecking balls when they are running "down-hill." Hell, no defender would like to go head up with either of them in the open field. I do feel Ricky finishes runs better. The truth of it is, Ricky gets to the open field more than Ronnie because Ronnie is hesitant. The sad thing about all of this is that Ricky is much older than Ronnie and still fairs better as a reliable running back. Reliability in skill, and in staying injury free. There is no way I'd let go of Ricky over Ronnie. Sure, he isn't an every down back anymore, but he can do more for this team than can Ronnie. To top it off, do you really think this regime, or any that might come in, will pay Ronnie Brown big $$$ with his injury history? Never mind that he has ALWAYS been slow to the holes and slow picking up a head of steam. Ricky has an unquestionable burst that Ronnie just as clearly does not have.

As for the Wildcat excuse: How many times last year and the year prior did the Wildcat help to PAD Ronnie's stats while RW played decoy for him? Seriously. If you take away those wildcat plays, Ronnie's numbers, especially YPC and TDs, would have dropped significantly - probably into the 3.5-3.7 YPC range, and Ricky didn't really benefit from it at all. The wildcat's ineffectiveness this year has hurt both Ricky and Ronnie. It's time to let it go for good. NFL teams are privy to it now. Everyone game plans it, and it's obvious. Anyway...

Give Ricky over Ronnie any day. And if one stays, I feel pretty confident that it will be Ricky.
