    Dear Henne fans,

This message brought to you by the FAH FOUNDATION, aka , Fans Against Henne Foundation, where a QB is a terrible job to waste!)

And also the by the letter Q..........no reason...just like the letter Q

Sometimes I wonder if you are just being supportive. Are you just being a fan?? Maybe you just feel sorry for the guy! :no:Are you sitting at home with your Henne number #7 jersey and coffee mug looking over game film in the dark? You cant be that blind………CAN YOU?

SO…it wasn’t bad enough that we missed the playoffs again this year. Your train of thought leads you to the conclusion that we should waste next season, too? So…..the Browns game, the 50 yd game vs NY , and the INT against Detroit…what was all that? Just growing pains…huh?

Wouldn’t it be best to be a bit more realistic? Maybe support the whole team instead of one guy?

I didn’t think I could get more frustrated until I started to read these blogs. We know the staff and players are the problem…..but maybe we should throw some fans in there, too!!

I want to plant an IMAGINARY situation…………just pretend………..

You are driving home from work and you switch on your favorite sports station. Grant it, it is the middle of the off season and free agency is in full swing. Suddenly, the radio host says the Fins have signed a free agent QB. Lets not compare or even call him Hennnnn- no!!! Don’t say it!! Lets call the guy Sammy Sasquatch or Peter Hot Pants.

Now you know that the radio guy wants to create a buzz….and maybe even promote the acquisition. So he will try to boost the positives and down play the negatives.

So maybe he will say something like…… Sammy is a 2-3 yr pro. And he did start some games last year. He struggled "a bit" throwing 15 INTS, 4 of which were returned for TDs.

By this time, you are getting nervous. Your face is more red than a chili pepper!!! You start to wonder WHY the Fins signed such a guy…..but you really get MAD when you find out the Fins plan to make him the starter!! You yell out tons of bad swear words I will not even repeat, in total disgust! :pity:

But the guy tries to downplay everything, using words like POTENTIAL and UP SIDE. And the guy even mentions a play or two where he ACTUALLY did something right, and maybe he manages to settle you down to the point where you may even consider supporting the guy! Soooo…………

Are you ready to go out and endorse Sasquatch? You going out to buy tickets and a jersey and hat? Maybe you log on to this site and promote Peter Hot Pants as the NEW SAVIOR of the Fins?

Well, maybe you would , but the rest of us realistic fans, who are not legally blind…. would not support a guy with those numbers and credentials. And don’t fool yourself cuz you wouldn’t either....at least i hope not. You would call the station and criticize the move. But in the real world, you still endorse Henne who has set us back yet another year….and you fight with the rest of us and defend him, because he has already had that kind of career??

I’m sure Henne is a nice guy. Like-able! Im sure he signs autographs after practice and gives donations to charity………….. but is Henne the guy you REALLY WANT lining up next year at center……….? Really?? HONESTLY??? Are you going to call the radio station s and mock the Jets fans, saying [IMG]HEY AT LEAST WE HAVE CHAD HENNE!!!! Me neither.

In the words of Lions QB, Shaun Hill, DON’T YOU WISH YOUR QB WAS HOT LIKE ME……DON’T YOU?

Dude, at this point we would support Peter Hotpants simply because his name was Peter Hotpants.

But yeah, we get your point...

BTW-Other free agents I would consider:
    Thick McRunfast
    Dirk Hardpec
    Sergio Grandecock
    Dick Roflmeister

I'm not sure if this thread was made twice, but maybe it should be. He makes a good point. If Henne wasn't a Miami Dolphin, but a QB from another team we were bringing in to be a starter, with the same numbers he has put up for our team, EVERYBODY here would be up in arms. Trash the guy all you want, he makes a good point.

Hi it is me, Cubanogrande the villan cuz I tell it like it is.....and by the way....i figure i could post this same article 20 times and you stuborn henne fans would still not come to reason!!! And the funny thing is that being that you guys are band wagon jumpers, maybe, god forbid, Henne sticks around and plays next year, you may be the very same knuckle heads who try to run him out of town..............

It is one thing to be supportive..............to cheer the running back who scores a TD after fumbling 3 times and costing the game...cuz something inside you almost propels you to. Even with that inner voice telling you HE SUCKS!!!! Maybe you support your local basketball team when someone dunked the ball, and you wave your number #1 fome finger even though your team is down by 25!!

Yes, It is one thing to be supportive, but dont try to sell me a donkey and call it a ther-o-bred. Expect the situation and if you care to share optimism, maybe you can show confidence that the Fins will eventually address the QB issue. But please dont insult our intelligence by calling Henne a potential all pro!!

Are ya nuts?? Oh, but if he had the right WRs and the right offensive line and if his RBs ran better...........OMG......isnt that what 32 NFL teams wish....then you might have 32 All Pro QBS..............

Get mad at the messenger..............nope I dont care...............but I will repeat this.............maybe the problems in Miami are not limited to the staff and players...............maybe you could throw some dilusional fans in there!!!

Did you see the Vikings game last night? Their 3rd string QB looked so much better then our starter. That's a shame.

Having Adrian Peterson in your backfield is a good help. The eagles looked not ready to play at all last night, and that was a huge game for them.

The Vikings are very high on Webb.

That's not fair you can't compare mere mortals to Joe Webb, this success he's having at QB is actually probably going to hurt his career because he'd be a monster at receiver.

I don't think that this makes the powerful point that you think it does. Often when an argument doesn't sway it's better to find more info to back it up rather than repeat the same thing over and over again.

And it is HENNE SUCKS not HENNE ROCKS....I assume you understood....worry less about my spelling and more about where your loyalty lies..with the team as a whole or a below average QB?.... I assume you have not been reading the repeating post of the one guy who has posted in huge letters about CRITICISM ON HENNE and how we must not be watching the game...... the blogger calls Henne a potential all pro and keeps replying to my posts with the same message. Read a little and then come back............

Oh I completely understand your "points" I'm just confused on your suggested course of action. Who do we replace him with? Because as nice as it would be for us to not have to, we still have to start someone at Quarterback.

We're all Dolphins fan - I don't understand the need to more or less call a portion of those fans idiots and gloat because your opinion is turning out to be correct. The need to separate fans into groups (apologists should be a banned word) is infuriating. We all want the team to succeed - we cheer for them and sometimes for certain players. I want the Dolphins to win more than I want to be right - and I'm willing to admit I was wrong on Henne.

So congrats, Henne sucks. You win a few months of gloating over fellow fans - followed by another few years wasted developing the next QB. With this thread you've spent most of your prize in one place. Hope it was worth it.

i AM NOT ARGUEING THE DIFFICULTY OF REPLACING HIM............IM SAYING HE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED...............LOOKING FORWARD.......MIAMI NEEDS TO MAKE A FREE AGENT DEAL............OR PERHAPS LOOK AT THE DRAFT...................AND DONT SENT ANYONE TO MISSISSIPPI TO COURT FARVE........ I JUST WANT FANS TO STOP EXCUSING HENNE. HE COULD BE A GOOD BACK UP AT THIS POINT. AND SOME YEARS FROM NOW, SOMETHING IN HIS HEAD MIGHT CLICK...AND HE MIGHT SALVAGE HIS CAREER...I JUST DONT SEE HOW KEEPING HIM AS THE STARTER COULD POSSIBLY MAKE US BETTER

They should be high on him. I wished henne played that inspired. Even in one game. Saying he has AP is not a good reason for Webb to be so good. One player was covering AP the same as one was covering Ronnie and/or Ricky for us. If so all the QB's who played with Barry Sanders would be in the HOF.

you think im happy that Henne sucks??? Im not a Dolphin Basher! Im not here to win arguements. Im upset at the fact that my Fins have done nothing in 30 years. And im upset that Henne is not good right now because it means my team is suffering and no good right now either! But what upsets me more, is the atitude of fans that turn a blind eye and want to continue supporting someone who is a nice guy, but at this point in his career simply cant get it down. Im mad because our draft choices and poor desicions have lead us to this.........arent you mad for the same reasons??? Doesnt it make you mad to see the cardinals were in the superbowl a few years agos, and the Rams got better and won a couple of superbowls, and the saints got better and won a superbowl , and the Fins dont even make the playoffs. Doesnt it bother you to see how many games this QB has lost us by throwing pics with the game on the line. That is like 2-3 more wins we could have had! So say what you want.........but understand.....it sometimes feels like the only thing worse than a bad team....are fans who have great heart, but the heart, doesnt allow them to see reality...............i would love to be wrong.......i hope Henne goes out next week and throws for 400 yds and 3 TDs- no- 4-5 Tds. And I would be the happiest wrong fan in Miami.............. so lay off...............

The difference between your assumption though is that we used a draft pick on Henne. We've already spent resources on him. For better or worse thats the risk you take with drafting a QB. Of all the QBs in the NFL, there's a small percentage that came on the field immediately and won games. The majority showed their promise by now, but there were also a few late bloomers that showed the occasional bright streak, and really turned it up a notch in year 4.

I'm not advocating Henne to start next year at all, but I think looking at him as an FA is just comparing apples to oranges. We're not spending anything to keep Henne on the roster (his salary is pretty low IIRC), we already made the purchase in the 2nd round draft pick invested in him.

The only real comparison you can draw is to compare him to QBs in their 3rd year (if you're generous, 2nd year due to him having the first as a backup), and see how he stacks up. Look at who went on to have a good career, and who went on to be a bust. And even analysis like that won't give you much information outside of a meaningless statistic that will say "There's this much probability Chad Henne will not pan out."

Bring in some vet competition for him, let him think he still can fight for the starting position, and see if he turns the corner, if not, we're prepared.

I refuse to throw away another year. My sample size of Henne is big enough. I doubt he will make a miraculous turn around. Sit him down. Lets look around for other options.........so you will have seen enough when the Fins start 2-3 next year. What about when they are 5-5? You like the guy..........but the consensus is you are hoping for potential and growth............im basing it on what has already happened in a year and a half............ and the Fins coaching staff already tried to bench the guy this year. He is only playing because we dont even have a back up.................

I really don't think people are excusing Henne as much as we're looking at the fact that he really is our best option at the moment so why wouldn't we give him more time? I think everyone agrees that we need to bring some real competition for him, but in the draft it's unlikely that we find anyone that is immediately better than Henne next year. This leaves free agency as the answer for next year. My question is who, that we can sign in free agency, is undoubtedly better than Henne at this point in their career? I just don't see that guy, yes Kyle Orton has been brought up, but he's not a free agent and I think that he could command a 2nd round pick in a trade which we don't have.

So what would be your preferred course of action?

It's not about your "viewpoint" that makes you a "villain"

It's how you chose to.... and I'll use this word lightly because it's demeaning to the word....... how you chose to communicate your "point". If you actually expressed yourself like an adult with a working brain instead of a 2nd grader with a learning disability more people would actually exchange ideas with you.

How dare you? Joe out Vicked Vick did you see the pure amount of people that he made miss in the backfield? And yeah personally I think it is inspired for a 6th rounder, that wasn't even asked to participate in QB drills at the Senior bowl, to beat a 10 win team.

Just kidding with the how dare you, but you know he looked better than you would expect him to.

First of all I don't think there are many "Henne Supporters" that are as you have described. The Idea that some have the ability to expand their vision and actually look at the whole situation does not make some one exclusive in there beliefs. I don't think there is one member here that would say that Henne is without flaw, that just isn't the case. We simply have the ability to look at an entire situation and extrapolate cause and effect. That means understand the whole situation not just what is seen on the surface. I find your closed minded retorts rather offensive as you are exactly what you criticize others for. "Because I believe it" is not a valid argument in any discussion of this magnitude.

As a fan of the Miami Dolphins I have my opinions and they are just that, my opinion. Because I do not follow your brand of narrow minded drivel does not make me a questionable fan. I am a firm believer that if you can realistically upgrade then you do, and that includes QBs' and coaches. I am not married to Henne as the starter at QB for the Dolphins but I can see that he has not had the support that he needs to properly develop and I realistically have no idea what we have with him...and by the way unless you have a magic crystal ball, then neither do you. I am a team supporter first and watch with as much of an open mind as possible. Do you? Or are you only able to superficially ingest what comes at you for face value? Henne supporter or not it is posters such as your self that make me avoid the main forum as I find your form rather abrasive and offensive not to mention just plain annoying.
