And he was matched tit for tat with Jake F'ng Delhome....spare me.....the difference between the Win or Loss was on the foot of AV. Its just my view....dont have to condemn it or praise it.....for me arguiing that Brady has 3 SB misses the point of his talent as a QB - its not based on 3 SB titles.
Ya they just went 16-0, broke numerous scoring records, and lost in the SB on a freakishly crazy winning drive by the Giants... (mind you the Giants D had earned a victory that day they did an amazing job..) Oh ya and have not had a .500 season either..
Panthers vs Pats Super Bowl... it wasn't Vinatieri who threw 3 TD passes, a 2pt conversion, 354 yards, 100.5 rating, and scored 29 points to make a game winning field goal a possibility. I feel dirty after praising Tom Brady so much...
Cherry picking Brady's stats, huh? Well, in one post season game Marino had 422 yards passing and 64 attempts. He must be better because Brady only had 354 yards and 48 attempts. What the rest has to do with anything I don't know.
Yes, the Colts played Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl. It's no wonder they won! 53 men against ONE guy?
Please type that again, its sounds so sweet....remember everytime you type it, a child in AFRICA is walking around with a 17-0 NE shirt on! You did your part to keep the 3rd world children warm....may God bless you.
Don't worry about it, I think Marinephin has people annoyed a bit lol. I as a pats fan can see where you are coming from, like I said Adam V is the best Kicker IMO EVER! I hope he ends up in the HOF... (he does have 4 rings!)
I love it.....I miss Baseball....but this upcoming season....sheesh.....paper tigers in beantown, I pray!
lol I am NOT saying the giants didn't earn the win, just that it was a freakish drive. I mean how often does a QB escape 1 or2 defenders never mind 4, and then have the WR catch it with his helmet. THAT is freakish, then add in the dropped INT by Samuals (who was a ball sniffing CB that year) and well there is the freakish part lol
I would forgive it some, if Belichick would have been a MAN and walked to midfield to shake Coughlin's hand instead of running off the field with time still on the clock!
I hear that a lot about BB, I personally didn't see the end of the SB as I accidentally broke my TD when the Giants got the go ahead TD lol
This is going slightly off-topic, but there was nothing freakish about how Justin Tuck and friends abused the Patriots offensive line.
I never said there was I only called the last OFFENSIVE drive by the Giants freakish... The Giants D dominated the highest scoring O of all time ALL GAME!
Ya he played 1 qrtr and got a TD Pass against the Steelers... AFTER Brady had led the team to HFA in the playoffs.
Yes. There are currently 20 living HoF QB's. I think Brady is better than a few of them. However, when you consider ALL QB's, I have a hard time getting him into the top 20. He will probably make top 20 if he continues to have years like this one and plays 6-7 more years. If Tom Brady had not been a part of 3 Super Bowl winning teams no one would be considering him a top 10 QB. And Super Bowl wins are not a good mesuring stick when talking about INDIVIDUAL greatness.
It was the Patriots defense benefitting from the cheating. They were stealing offensive audibles & play calls from opponents. Does that really benefit Brady? Brady can make his own assumptions about defenses by looking at them before he snaps the ball - frankly I think he's one of the best at that, cheating be damned. I think watching him tear defenses apart constantly even after that scandal was over really just shows that he can read a defense. Give credit where it's due. For starters the "system" wasn't working nearly that well before Brady got there, and his play has improved every year he's in the league. I don't think the system is changing each year to make him look better. Second, Cassel clearly wasn't a system guy as he's doing a phenomenal job in KC right now. In fact he's the single biggest part of the reason they're even sniffing playoffs.
Read what I said. 4 more full years of playing, not 4 more years in the league. However you want to slice it, that means Manning has had 4 more years to compile his stats. If you want to compare the two on an even plane, you'd have to use averages. Measuring only total yards, total TDs, or total INTs would obviously be skewed. If you use averages, they're almost identical in every category, the only sizeable difference being passing yards being slightly in the favor of Manning. But, you can counter that with Brady's 3 rings to Manning's 1. If they're equal in every category save for passing yards, but Brady has two more rings.... you give the nod to Manning? Alrighty then!
You mean right after the OT game against the Raiders (Tuck Rule) whene Brady had 0 TD's and 1 INT? And, ummmmm...Brady was 12 of 18 with Z-E-R-O TD's against the Steelers when he went out in the SECOND quarter. Bledsoe scored the ONLY offensive TD for the Pats that game. Brown retuned a punt for a TD and Harris returned a blocked FG for a TD. Why do people lie about these things?
I like how you cite Brady's poorer stats as the reason Manning was better, but then cite a litany of players who all had far worse stats than Brady as being better. Why were the older QB's better? Was it because..... they won Superbowls? 3 rings! Kiss 'em
How does a person read what was said? Anyhow, I read what you wrote. And I still stand by my post. If you want to crown someone "great" off of 9 seasons be my guest. The facts still remain, brady has been in the league for 11 years. Out of those 11 years, and if you compare them to the elite QB's, he has had 2 GREAT season, a few good ones and a lot of average ones.
Only YOU would compare 2 years when he wasn't even playing lol... The sad thing is (for non-pats fans) is simple in 8 years as a starter behind center he has led the Pats to the SB 4 times and the AFCCG 5 times.. That is DAMN impressive.
lol. Brady has set some records just like Marino & Graham did, and he quarterbacked a team that went completely undefeated in the regular season. That is a heck of an accomplishment that has not been equalled in 40 years. Don't give me the "Peyton could have done that but he was sat before the playoffs" argument. The point was Peyton didn't do it. Brady did. Give credit. Brady even broke some of Marino's old records! If Marino merits consideration in the conversation, you'd have to acknowledge the guy that broke some of his records. ....unless it's Marino, then it helps your argument to omit citing no superbowl wins and poor postseason percentage, as those don't "count"..... you know, since it's Marino.
Any statistic we list you cite as "cherry picking". What is it when you do the same? Valid? You pick the stats you want to compare, we pick ours - but they're ALL valid because they all actually happened. You're so ridiculous dude I'm enjoying this though, too funny
Man, this keeps getting more fun. If Montana & Pennington are statistically similar, why do you suggest Montana is better than Pennington? Oh yeah, that's right. He won Superbowls! how many rings does Manning have?
