Sure, things looked better when Thigpen was out there today, but you go out of your way to point out that it was against the same O-Line, but you fail to point out that it was against 2nd and 3rd stringers for the most part. The TD was an excellent catch by Bess. Most of Thig's yards came from the play by Marshall where he finally got some YAC. All in all IMO, neither QB looked good at all. Thigpen sure didnt look much better than Henne when he was in during the first half when the pats still had their starters in, but looked better in his first drive in the second half, which was our second offensive drive after Henne was pulled again, and the Pat's began to sit their starters.

Not defending Henne here, because he looked like garbage, but so did Thiggy in that time against the Pats starters. He took a few more shots downfield, but all in all to me, it was the same old crap. Neither one of these guys is the future of this team, so I dont see what there is to get excited about, other than the fact it gives some an opportunity to take pleasure in the fact that Henne struggled yet again. Sadly, it seems that's been a prideful point for many here since we drafted Henne because I don't know of anyone who wanted this guy when he was drafted anyways.

Why we're thrilled about Thigpen playing "better" than Henne today, and the fact that some think he's going to be ridden out of town now though... is completely beyond me...

We went into this season thinking we had 3 good options at QB. Turns out we had 0.

NE kept the same defensive line rotation THE ENTIRE GAME. Wilfork was in there till the end my friend. They starting subbing DBs while Henne was in there and like I said, the Dline for NE did not change. Henne SUCKS Not saying Thigpen is a good QB just answering you and others that blame it all on the Oline, same Oline, same defensive line the entire game dude.

Neither Henne nor Thigpen is the answer at QB. Time to make a real investment in the most important position of the game. And no, that ISN'T left tackle.

Both QB's didn't look so hot, but it was obvious to me that the offense gave more effort when Thigpen was in there.

Great, Apparently I missed the fact that defensive lineman cover wide receivers now. My bad...

Have fun celebrating the need to search for another QB.

Maybe you heard the game on the radio and didn't see the INT by Henne. I believe it was 3rd and 12 and Dan Henning called a passing play, with 2 receivers running routes and 1 RB running a 2 yard down and out. That is 3 players running routes on a 3rd and long and only two of which were actual Wide Receivers that were running to the sticks. Marshall was double covered, Bess was triple covered, and Brown was being covered by a LB.

You could make the argument that Henne could have just taken the sack or try to throw the ball away in that situation, but when you are a QB competing for your job, you sort of have to attempt to make those throws.

That has been the story all year long. Dan Henning putting Chad Henne in terrible situations. I have never seen an offensive playcaller love 3rd down as much as him. Never. 2nd and long? Run the ball. 2nd and short? Throw the ball deep. Just doesn't make sense.

edit: Here is the link to the replay: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011010200/2010/REG17/dolphins@patriots#tab:watch and my bad. It was 3rd and 14, not 3rd and 12.

    Thigpen posts a 7.73 ANY/A on 23 dropbacks, with 3 rushes for 21 yards
    Henne posts a .16 ANY/A on 19 dropbacks.

actually thigpen was 48x as productive.

NE starting defensive backs are all first and second year players pal. Perhaps you missed the fact that the same Oline that poor ol Henne had was the same oling Thigpen had and the last time I looked, The D line and linebackers are the ones usually hitting the QB.

Noboday ever said Thigpen was the answer I was making a simple comparison on how much better Thigpen reacted. He attempted passes Henne would not dream of on the same team that the same coaches say do not throw interceptions. Henne should have been chucking the ball all day, its the last game and we were down and checkdown Chad was still throwing it high out of bounds and his usual 4-5 yd check down passes.

And yeah, like it or not, we are looking for a QB I can guarantee you Chad Henne will not start another game for the Miami Dolphins unless he is a backup and the starter gets injured. Oh yeah, in case you did not notice, they NE, changed 2 count them 2 DBs out. Most of the change out was on offense and that started before halftime and even our vaunted, piss poor but weirdly highly rated defense let all of NEs backups score, a lot.

Apparently you have no clue that outside of Henne, Bess, and Marshall, our offense is comprised of mostly 2nd & 3rd stringers and practice squad guys with Long not really counting as his normal self b/c of a bad shoulder.
No ground game (23 yards rushing from our RBs)!
    No pass blocking! 5 sacks!
    No run blocking!
2 undrafted rookie WRs and a 7th round rookie TE!

Yeah, Henne, Marshall, and Bess can do it ALLLLLL by themselves against a Patriot team who recently allowed 10 total pts verse the Jets & Bears 1st team offense!!!
Thigpen gets his yards and TD in garbage time against some of NE's 2nd string defense DESPITE what you attempt to say. This game was over after the 3rd play when Ronnie was dropped for a 4 yard loss b/c 2 of our linemen were wandering around not blocking anyone as if they had blindfolds on. No NFL QB would've played well for us today.

Can you give me your address? With all due respect, I'd like to mail you a dollar so you can buy a clue.

Henne needs to watch Tebow. Even though his numbers today aren't great, he is showing what a leader can do for an offense. Tebow may never be a great NFL QB (but who knows) but he is already beyond Henne in his second start in a lot of areas.

Yep, they doubled him and Henne reads things wrong and throws it to the back shoulder. Looked like it was Cover 2 and with that, the ball should have been thrown inside and it would have been completed. Or maybe dropped because we all know Marshall drops them now and then. But that was on the Qb there. Sorry.

They had a safety deep middle and two DB's on one guy. That looked more of a Nickel/Cover 3 zone. It definitely wasn't cover two.

Well, if Henne is to be kept, and I am tremendously pissed at that shaved pated knuckle head for once again losing a game singlehandidly to knock us out of the playoffs, then marry him to a OC whose philosophy matches what Henne does do well:

    3 wr's/no huddle/shotgun

Otherwise do not bother with him, he never will be a drop back/I formation Qb.

Thigy was actually moving the ball his first outing today but Ricky W. killed the drive by fumbling. Was almost as if the coach yanked him back out becuase the chains were moving. When he finally got back on the field he saved us from being shut out. We need to get Thigy better competition cuzz its not Henne.

    Yeah...

I started off this season telling everyone that this guy wasnt any better than Fiedler. Preached it, got a lot of flak for it. Started to even think maybe there was something I wasnt seeing, so I waited a few games, took a real good look at the work that he was doing just to be sure...

Yeah, Henne's an average back-up QB you only want in the game should something happen to your starter. Pure Scott Secules material.

Its complete BS we now have to search for another QB but it is what it is and delaying it for the sake of delaying it is even more BS.

Anyone who is still obessed with the guy (I have never said this but WTH) I believe are more Henne fans than Dolphins fans at this point IMHO, because for the good of this franchise, moving forward, we need a change at the starting QB position.

EDIT: I even thought that Cowher would keep him in as a starter but after todays pathetic showing he is toxic and I doubt Cowher would even bother giving him a chance to compete for the starting job unless he had no other options....and I really mean no other options.

Hate to say it but 2x X 0 ain't a whole lot better and if you get it to 48x as good it still only equals one TD per game.

Sparano should have nutted up and kept Henne on the pine and started Thigpen the rest of the season.

Then again, this is the same eunuch who punted on a 4th and 12 down 30 pts.

I wonder if it's Henne or his mentors. We all know and have condemned Dan Henning, but what about the QB Coach, the one who works directly with the QB's in their development? Currently our QB Coach is David Lee, whose only professional experience is with the *cough* Dallas Cowboys, not as a QB Coach, but as an "offensive assistant" and "offensive quality control" before leaving the NFL in 2007 to return to the college ranks for a year before coming to Miami in 2008. In my opinion, he has zero experience in developing young QB's.

Now with that being said...and granted this is all hypothetical, but what if...what if we could lure John Ramsdell from San Diego?
Could Henne actually develop with a time proven QB's Coach who's worked with Warner, Bulger, Brees and Rivers?

    Just food for thought.

What the hell are you going to get for him in a trade? Value wise it is best to keep him around and be proactive in bringing in two more QBs, one in the draft, and one in F.A. and let them all compete.

I don't see many games, but I always check the stats real time. It never takes too long to see an int under Henne's stat line. The guy is awful. If Thigpen had kept startin job after Bears game I think we would have been in playoff discussion leading up to this last week, JMHO.

Henn tried to force the ball, no coubt. I've seen more hungry WR's get that pass. It's not like it was out of Marshall's reach.

What I don't get is that Henne haters tell Henne to trust Marshall, take some shots etc etc. So, in this instance, Henne trusts Marshall and took a shot on 3rd and forever. The ball is off maybe 6 inches and the "haters" whine some more. lol
