That's a lot easier when the coach in question has proven he has the ability to be a good coach in the NFL.

How are guys supposed to prove they can be a good coach when they get fired after every disappointing season?

You're embarrassing yourself. The man had his team playing for the AFC Championship in three years when he was in his 30s. At year three Sparano has a team that quit on him and was humiliated and outclassed by a team with nothing to play for and several key starters on the bench. Mediocrity is OK in Miami but apparently coaches in other places suck if they're not winning the Super Bowl every other year.

he's proven he can put together a dominating running game (2009), a dominating defense (2008, 2010) and can take a team to the playoffs when he has a QB (2008) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess

Tony Sparano didn't get fired after last season. He is getting worse. The team is getting worse. Ideally you want things moving upward. There are almost as many questions right now as there were after 2007. He's a nice guy. Some of the players seem to like him. Just like Dave Wannstedt. That doesn't mean he's the answer, or that he didn't get a fair shake. He did next to nothing as our offense got worse and worse and the season went down the drain. Everybody crucified Henning but there's more evidence Sparano was A-OK with Henning's gameplans than to the contrary.

no/.....your embarrassing yourself. This man , Tom Coughlin has won 1 conference championship and 1 superbowl.

For the record the conference championship was the same year he won the superbowl

In case you were not aware that's how it works conference first .....then superbowl

The team is getting worse. We're trying to put lipstick on a pig here. The defense has never been dominant. It was good this season. I'd say you need to create a turnover every now and then to be considered dominant.

Now your just plain making stuff up. Sparano pulled the sh*t a$$ QB known as Henne for Pennington as I exactly predicted he would. This prediction was in preseason. I will find it for you.

Remember.......Pennington played 2 plays, then blew out his shoulder again. Sparano had no choice and absolutely made changes while we still had plenty of season left

Oops, I had Cowher on the brain. Either way Coughlin has been good as well. He took Jax to a conference championship in their second year of existence. He made them a relevant team immediately. His Super Bowl win was actually something special. One of the biggest in history. Another good coach you're trying to marginalize while propping up a coach who has done nothing but get worse.

Haha, making stuff up. Sure. Henne was his opening day starter. That's what he wanted. If he thought Penny was not going to get hurt then he really is stupid. Everybody and their mother saw that coming. Not that soon but we knew Penny wasn't making it through the season. I love Penny and I knew it would happen. Maybe these guys should have come up with a real plan B. As I've said already, I guess that was Pat White.

the defense improved leaps and bounds. and they did it with one rookie and four second year starters. the turnovers will come. it was a murphy's law type of year. this team was a tale of two cities. the offense regressed because of a young QB who didnt progress enough and the defense exploded onto the NFL. You cant just focus on the offense. The offense is only 1/3 of the team

I can buy that on defense but how do you have a total offensive collapse like that? How do you finish the last quarter of the season playing like a college team? Finish strong and people will believe in you, even if it is 8-8 or 9-7 or whatever. The team didn't care about Tony or his job last Sunday.

true but you dont fire a coach over a meaningless game week 17. the giants had far better reason to fire coughlin. his team blew a 21 point lead in the 4th qtr in december that cost them the playoffs

There is no point in arguing bro. You're just going to drive yourself nuts.

I don't know how people can want to stay the course with a guy who is 2-6 the last two Decembers and Januarys and whose team has crapped itself two years straight with playoff hopes in the last month.

But he's certainly about to turn the corner. FLMAO

That was a one quarter meltdown.
    Our meltdowns last entire months.

So what? It doesn't change the fact this team has puked all over themselves two Decembers in a row.

We are NOT getting worse. Our offense has regressed, but our defense went from 22 to 6 this season. If we had ANY resemblance of an NFL offense we easily win 10 games at least. Why shouldn't Sparano and the front office get a chance to fix the offense this offseason? People seem to want change for the sake of change.

And by the way, we had the same exact record this season as we had last season. That's also not "getting worse".
