Now THIS I agree with. I have said in the past that Ireland and Co., seemingly played Madden and saw the ratings for wideouts, and decided to go get one of the top guys, without regard to how the player's skillset meshed with the gameplan or not.

He got benched already. And got even more scared? I'm sorry, if that is true then I don't even want to see him under center again.

    We have a ***** for a QB

That doesn't sound like Ireland and Co though, which is what causes me to think Ross was behind the move.

These are belt and suspenders types, to just trade for headaches who maybe do not fit what you do on offense?

Neither you or I know what was happening behind the scenes. The only thing we've even heard about this entire situation is a rumor that Henne finally took out some frustrations on Henning during the Titans game. But we don't know if that is true. If it is, we don't know what happened after. Maybe Sparano pulled him aside and made it very clear that he would either do what he was told or be benched again. There are all sorts of possibilities, and I think plenty of them offer better explanations than simply concluding that Henne is a *****.

I would have a talk with him and let him know in any uncertain terms that the talking is unacceptable. The other 70% which he is right about they should address. If Marshall can do the things that were in the OP then I say why would you stop him from doing them. 27 yard catch and 40 yard penalty, 1 drop. Take that any day of the week. Of course I would prefer not to drop the ball but cheez this is exactly what we need players on the same page with the coaches and the coaches making in game adjustments to maximize the weakness' of our opponents. Hell if there gonna put a slow, 5'8 corner on Brandon Marshall 1 on 1........I would throw him the ball every down until they stop it.

After the talk if he airs dirty laundry outside Sparano's office again I would trade him. I would make sure he knew the consequences. If fact I would have him repeat them to me word for word. This Brett Farve mentality sh*t has to stop unless the coaches approve of it.

Not young one's who are afraid of being benched etc for insubordination. Gheesh, Marshall got "talked to" for doing it when the season was already over, and he's a veteran. Not sure your argument holds any water on this one.

You CANT make the adjustments if your boss does NOT want you to make the adjustments.

"Cower"? Are you crazy? How many jobs have you been fired from for this 'stand up to your boss' mentality? Just sayin.

I've been bored and thinking a lot about the QB situation, so I decided to watch a bunch of highlights/lowlights from 2010.

I have been on the Henne roller coaster all season like most of y'all, but the truth is, growing up with Marino, I want nothing more than a QB to find success with our team. Although at times I have hated Henne, I would love to see him be a good QB for us.

After watching a bunch of this season, I came to this conclusion - what we had was a QB who made some serious mistakes, BUT also someone who was a victim of being scared/controlled/and for lack of another term "powerless."

What struck me the most is he almost looked like he was playing "depressed." Why would a young guy with talent, brains, and starting gig in the NFL be scared and "depressed?" My only deduction is he was playing for a staff that had no faith in him, and who installed a set of rules for him to follow that kept him under lock and key, causing him to play the way they wanted, not the way he is capable of playing. Watching the games from 2009 to 2010 I could even see an emotional difference in Henne.

If we get an OC in here who lets Henne play his game, and has confidence in him allowing Henne to have confidence in himself, I believe we see a different Henne in 2011 and someone who may not be the Marino we all want, but can manage a game, and be successful as an NFL starter.

Agreed. When you're at the mercy of your employer, you're at the mercy of your employer.... especially when your profession ONLY consists of 31 other other employers. Being insubordinate or popping off at the mouth as a 2nd year starter is a great way to get a red x next to your name.

Marshall can run off at the mouth when the freaking colum next to his name in the stat book that stays drops says 0. This guy played with slick hands all year long. He dropped passes like he was being paid to do it.

When he can hang onto a pass and not cause our QB to get an INT next to his name then he can run off at the mouth. Until then, shut the hell up and go play football.

The part I do not agree with is the talent part. He has a few short comings and those short comings could be masked by an amazing offense. However I would feel more comfortable with a quarterback that isn't Shawn Hill or have the question, "Is he the next Rob Johnson or Brad Johnson."

Even with bad coaching he still has little to no pocket awareness and horrible mid range accuracy if it is not a bullet. Plus his anticipation isn't all that great either.

I slightly disagree, because if the coaches are making him go through all his progressions, and creating other such "controlling" rules for him to follow, we didn't get a good look at his true pocket awareness/presence. This is also improved by self-confidence which also could have been hampered by coaches.

And I said "slightly" because you very well could be right, but I would like to see him with a new OC to be sure, because I would hate to let him go and see him progress into a solid starter somewhere else.

I don't see Brandon getting fired either...... but if there are too many of these instances, we'll see him playing for another team.

Difference is Brandon will still start where as an unestablished player might get benched.

So if your boss puts you on what is effectively a "performance improvement plan" for not following the company line you would think "fcuk it, I'll show you and do it my way" or would you think "sure thing boss, I like having a job".

I'd be a ***** too in that scenario.

You might be right. I haven't haven't seen someone who looks more uncomfortable in the pocket since Rob Johnson.
