http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-in-hand-fins-look-for-rock-star-in-the-bush/ So we've had monetary discussions with Cowher, Gruden and Harbaugh (that we know of). And now the talk of Jeff Fisher (in the other thread). Definitely turning stones. But they're quite pricey stones to this point.
I think Ross knows what its going to take. You dont try and entice the Hollywood star atmosphere....and have something like "price" in mind. If it comes down to money....the money will be there. Ross will pay that much if he really wants Harbaugh, which I think he will. Hes gonna let San Fran stew on the sticker shock for awhile....then out bid them. If San Fran will only go to $5.....he will go to $6....
I like Change...I think we need a DRASTIC CHANGE IN ATTITUDE.....I want Harbaugh's "Win with Character, and Win with Cruelty" .... We compete in a division with Bill B, and Rex Ryan....we better start getting that type of attitude or we wont compete. Not sure if Tony can do that.....I dont think he can. But if he could...and he could get an OC with that type of attitude...fine...
The more we do nothing, the more the franchise looks bad. What free agents or good coaches would want to sign here after this fiasco?
Is this the time to be cheap? You want the best talent and you want to do it with opening up the check book?
Nobody looked worse than Atlanta after Parcells left them standing at the altar. Look at them now compared to us.
Gruden is a excellent coach. But an awful talent evaluator. I would welcome Jon with open arms as long as he doesn't have say over player personel
Alright, now you know everyone's demands. Find the one you're most agreeable with and make an offer. I HOPE this is what Ross is doing. The guy is an excellent businessman and knows never to accept the first offer or make an offer before exploring all possibilites. I just hope he doesn't end up going back to the 'Old Gray House' (Sparano) /kudos to anyone who gets that reference
Well, right now I think Harbaugh would take less money to stay out there and work with a GM who he shares an agent with. They are on the same page on and off the field. He is willing to come here and keep Nolan and Ireland, but I think the other factors out in SF would win out.
Obviously Ross wants to get rid of Sparano. The problem for Ross now is that if he isn't able to hire one of the big name coaches he has talked to. This means he will probably stick with Sparano next year. Exactly why he would think the fans would accept Sparano coming back after Ross has shown that he really doesn't want him as the coach next year, is beyond me. Ross has put himself into a situation where he has to replace Sparano now. He doesn't want him as the coach. Most fans want a new coach and it was obvious by the way they played against the Patriots. Many of the Dolphin players want a new coach. Bringing back Sparano now would only create more anger by the fans and the players who want Sparano gone. Depending on which name coach Ross wants. He needs to just accept that he needs to open his wallet very wide and pay Cowher, Harbaugh, Gruden, or possibly Fisher what they want to be paid to come coach Miami.
Someone said earlier they would rather stick with Sporano before Gruden. Well Id rather have Herm before Sporano.....
There are actually two references. One is a Children's book about a family who wants to sell their Gray House to get a nice one, only to fix it up to the point where they end up keeping it. The other is a poem called 'Old Gray House'. The moral is that even though it's a ****ty looking house, it has sentimental value. Or some ****. I'm sure those songs involve the same principal, even though they are horrible. Basically we know Sparano sucks but like the ****ing house may end up keeping him.
It's a logical thought; but fact is he'd still have control of the roster personnel moves. And this is the guy who dismantled a SB-winning roster and took Tampa down the toilet.
Personally for me. The cost of the tickets are not a factor. If they go up to $150.00 a ticket and the Dolphins are once again a playoff team. I would gladly pay the money. I already purchase 4 season tickets each year and spend over $4000 for tickets, parking, and other game related expenses. My wife and I fly to at least one away game each season. This usually ends up costing at least another $1500 for the weekend away. I am much more interested in the Dolphins getting the coach and players needed to once again be relevant in the NFL. If that means I pay more money for tickets. So be it. One thing I do know is that I will not be purchasing season tickets next year unless major changes are made to the Dolphins. Beginning with hiring a new head coach.
I care who coaches this football team even if you don't. You want to give a newbie coach that kind of money to learn how to be an NFL coach? I don't.
Cowher, Gruden, Harbaugh, are all better options then Sparano and they aren't flashy! Everyone likes to forget Gruden made the Raiders a yearly contender. Cowher was a ARC force every year, and Harbaugh shows to be a leader, motivator, offensive genius, and great game day coach! Mean while Morano is nothing more then a Parcells hand puppet whose only resume line is Friend Of Bill
Good. Riddance. Meanwhile, in more recent developments, he ran the Buccaneers into the ground with the same GM he had in Oakland, Bruce Allen. Gruden is a myth, not a legend.
I agree! I stopped going when Parcells was hired because I hate him and saw the train coming off the tracks! This year I even stopped going to away games and I fly for free. I love the Dolphins and cheer for them every Sunday, but my hard earned money is going to get spent watching Morano fist pump FGs while surrendering TDs
Tony is a melon head compared to Bill B. If we're continuously out coached by BB, then we'll be continuously outplayed as well. We're in one of the worst positions in football b/c the road to the SB goes through NE.
I live in Tampa and what everyone fails to realize is the Glaziers tightened the purse strings when they bought Manchester United this was a huge factor in the Bucs down fall! The only myth is Parcells he is the biggest smoke and mirrors fraud in NFL history!
This I can confirm. They are notoriously cheap. My company does business with them and getting payment is like trying to pull a fat girl away from the buffet.
