Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is reportedly staying. It?s unclear if that would be a problem if a new coach is hired to replace Tony Sparano. Miami ended with the NFL?s sixth-rated defense. There?s been no official word from owner Stephen Ross. Source: Chris Perkins

It's looking more and more like Tony will stay as well.

I'm glad Nolan appears to be staying though. He's the Anti-Tom Olivadotti.

I think Sparano staying is a disaster, a disaster that is mitigated if the whole offensive staff is fired.

IDK, the way the D played in the last game, I have to wonder if they have the will/drive/desire to be a dominant Defense.

I just do not think the leadership is there on the Defense to make that happen, all of those half hearted tackles?

Ravens never do that, Bears neither, does not happen with the Steelers.

I have a hard time believing anyone Cowher brings with him can't match Nolan and his production! This blows up if we are passing on a great HC for a DC who will probably leave us for an HC gig!

That was one game, the last of the season. It was pretty evident the whole team had phoned it in. They were excellent for nearly the whole season, save for a few lapses now and then.

You don't need a dominant defense these days anyhow. Top 10 is good enough. Now, a dominant offense? That's a different story. Apparently told in a foreign language...that needs a code to decipher the text.

Lets be realistic and not read too much into this blurb .Nolan is under contract so he is ours.....until someone makes him a better offer or his contact is paid off because the new HC does not want him.

Quitting will void his contract so we are getting the standard PC statement from him.

Disagree, Defense is about attitude as much as it is talent, when the entire secondary laid down it should something other than what the signs are for a Dominant and Proud defense.

think it had more to do with Dansby being injured the last two weeks. we reverted back to 2009. shows how important dansby was to our success

Dansby had nothing to do with the secondary playing "el toro" though, SS24 was particularly poor in the effort department Ty Culver as well, the only one who came to play was YBell and he got knocked out on the field.

Toss Clemons in that mix as well.

A great defense just brings it every game almost like what the offense is doing does not matter.

Ravens have either lost or nearly lost more than 3 games with less than 1 minute drives

That happens, they however keep on hitting opponents no matter the score they project themselves onto their opponents, the Steelers do the same thing.

Fire Sparano. Hire McDaniels as Head Coach. Lol. See if Nolan stays.
