Harbaugh met with Stanford's president this morning. I doubt he goes back there, although nothing is set in stone. If it comes down to money, Stanford can't and won't compete.
eSPN doesnt want him to go to Miami, so they will spin everything to make it look like he is not coming to miami.
I don't really know why people think ESPN are anti-Miami, they are simply in the dark with everyone else. If you look at the last week with their headlines and breaking news stories...it hasn't been pretty. They are trying to hedge any and all bets.
While i dont really think espn hates miami teams if they did hate a certain city's teams i think it would be miami. They are based in NE.
Wouldnt surprise me if he did reconsider Stanford now that Luck decided to stay. He can grow his pedigree even more by making a run at a Natl. Championship and still have a huge payday waiting for him next year from some NFL team. I thought about this the minute I saw Luck had decided to stay.
Listening to espn all day and nothing has been said that I heard that stanford is again talking with Harbaugh.
Because they have several "personalities" that openly hate a certain Miami sports team. So why not hate another?
Since when did Harbaugh turn into Vince Lombardi? This is getting out of control! The only thing I can guarantee is that Harbaugh is going to end up filthy rich sent from my EVO 4G
Most fans feel that way about their teams though. Laker fans think that ESPN hate them with a passion, as do Warrior fans, Kings fans, etc. And when it comes to baseball, Dodger/Giant/A's fans all declare an east coast bias. I think it is the nature of being a fan I suppose, it is easier to put yourself in the underdog mode. But I don't really buy the "ESPN hates us," argument.
ESPN's people have been saying that Harbaugh is not going to Miami all along. At this point, they're backed into a corner. They're throwing haymakers. But they've already been wrong. Schefter kept saying he doesn't think it'll be Miami, and he said it'll be San Fran. Mortenson flat out denied that Miami had any interest or that Harbaugh had any interest back. Both, wrong. So now they're throwing hail mary passes and hedging and if Harbaugh does suddenly back out of the Miami deal, they get to say SEE WE WERE RIGHT THE WHOLE TIME. And if Harbaugh does go to Miami? Well, nobody will remember what we said two days ago (Miami isn't interested), they'll just remember what we said yesterday (50-50 chance) and they'll think that was sensible.
Things have reached the point where we are all jumping at shadows, for example some CA anchor said they saw Ross get on his plane sans Harbaugh...but then again there are two planes in the mix. Bottom line to me it sounds like Harbaugh listened to the 49ers, Dolphins, Stanford and is now weighing his options, with the possibility of Denver trying to get into the mix. He'll have to talk it over with the family etc then decide imho.
Jason LaCanfora just said that Stanford beat San Francisco's offer and that Harbaugh is not unlikely to stay at Stanford.
Nothing weird about it. They can’t sign Harbaugh to a contract because Sparano is still employed and because they haven’t made it known that they’ve conducted a Rooney Rule interview. It could be that the trip to Burbank is being done to conduct that interview.
This doesn't make any sense. If Ross and Jim Harbaugh already met and it was a done deal why the heck is Sparano still our HC? Fire Sparano already dammit
timkawakami Source who knows Harbaugh says don't rule out him staying at Stanford with Luck. I'd be stunned, but source says it's possible.
Who says Sparano isn't already fired and just keeping it quiet per an agreement him and Ross made? Maybe they agreed to spilt amicably and Tony is helping put his notes etc together saying goodbye like a real job with a week notice or something? Or quietly behind the scene he has already be discussing offers? Just relax Ross isn't a scumbag like media are now saying and IF and I mean IF Ross really is hanging Tony out to dry and Tony is sitting there doing nothing I lost all respect for the man..
JasonLaCanfora Jason La Canfora Stanford's proposal to keep Harbaugh eclipsed the 49ers offer including all bonuses. Stanford, MIA, SF and Denver all still in the hunt
ESPN's "mouthpiece," Adam Schefter, seems to have an axe to grind against Miami. Just a couple days ago he was saying how Miami had no chance of getting Harbaugh. Why did Schefter say this? Because he is a huge Denver Bronco's fan and former beat writer for the Denver Post. He calls in to KOA 850 in Denver just about every afternoon to give us his spin on things, and he had a total hard on when Elway came back yesterday. You have to look into these schills background before taking what they sat at face value.
JasonLaCanfora Jason La Canfora One source with a pulse on the situation estimated it could still ultimately come down to the Bay Area entities - Stanford and the 49ers
It's a double negative so does it mean likely? lol Harbaugh is likely to stay at Stanford? What a weird way to say it.... lol
What a cluster****. At this point, I really don't care if Harbaugh becomes coach. Let him stay at Stanford.
So let me get this straight. If Ross is hanging Sparano out to dry you will lose all respect for the guy being hung and not the guy doing the hanging? Mmmkay, then.
This was all BS. timkawakami NFL source: Miami owner Stephen Ross had previously scheduled meetings in LA area and is expected back in Bay Area. Ross never went there to interview Harbaugh.
