The stadium will be empty next year. Good luck Mr Ross with your orange carpet and z grade celebrities.
I've said through all this - multiple times - I never believed Harbaugh would come here. http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?58296-The-Rooney-Rule...PC-Gone-Mad&p=1390179#post1390179
We are now the official "Joke" franchise. Will some Cubanito with coin step up and buy the team please ? We need some real So Fla people to own it.
keeping tony under these circumstances is the worst possible thing. i feel a bit embarrassed to be a fan
Anyone have any phone #'s or Emails? I really want to cuss someone out right now and tell them they are doing a good job of LOSING buisness. Morons, if you cant land Harbaugh then you cant land him, but to goto Sparano and shun Cowher?? Get fked. Go Texans.
awesome conclusion! but ross is a complete buffoon for letting it play out like this. this should have been announced monday
They announce that tomorrow and I bet there is 15-20k less season ticket holders! Morano is a ****ing joke absolute clown shoes!
yeah, i just saw this on espn. i'm happy for Sparano. he knows he has to make a lot of changes on offense, starting with the coaching staff in order to be back after next year. let's see what happens.
"With the 1st pick in the 2012 NFL Entry Draft, the Miami Dolphins select: Andrew Luck QB, Stanford."
Congratulations, we have now reached the depths of futility and embarrassment that I have endured with the Baltimore Orioles. Welcome to pittsville, population us.
I can't believe I tracked your plane. I'm such a fool! LOL...Ross just mind ****ed his fanbase. So long Dolphins...
Enough of this franchise. I am not renewing. **** them. they just set themselves to have a disaster of a season next year.
The Dolphins and Sparano are going to have to work hard to make this work. Sparano has to make some adjustments and do whatever it takes to make sure he has the respect of the locker room. And this fans will not show up stuff is bull****. If we win, they will come. It's simple.
Meeeeeeeehhhhh. Get ready for another year of shotty offense and fist pumps after every damn field goal.
Forget about how Ross went about Harbaugh (which was a little botched in my view). If he *did* offer him a ton of money (more than he deserves imho) and came away with a feeling that Harbaugh really wasn't into it, I'd scratch him off my list too. F Harbaugh. If 8 mil isn't enough to make you trip while trying to grab a pen, then you probably really don't want the job. If I am ponying up that kind of cash, I'd want a guy foaming at the mouth and not just a "well, let me think about it" response.
Look, they really wanted Harbaugh but didn't really want to blow up the whole thing and start over with Cowher/Gruden - and one can almost guarantee that neither Cowher nor Gruden will ever win a title (no former SB winner has - EVER). But, they saw Harbaugh as a great coach and leader who could elevate the organization. They couldn't get a deal down with him; so, they went back to Sparano who was their second option. The fact is, this happens all the time with teams that have no coach - they wind up with the 2nd best option. The fact is Sparano knew his job was in trouble after the last game. And he was probably informed that they weren't going to make a decision on his status right away. He actually should feel no issues with the fact that he's the 2nd or 3rd choice. He should know that the pressure is on to revamp the offensive staff and get the job done. The problem, however, is actually getting a good OC & QB coach to come in with the Phins at this point. B/c basically whoever it is has one year and that's it. Unless Ross signs Sparano to 2-3 year extension.
I would have preferred Harbaugh, but I like Sparano and think he could get it done. I wish I lived close enough to actually get and use season tickets (seems like it'd be a perfect time to try and upgrade to better seats).
Well, goodbye Ricky. At least we can cheer for him wherever he goes, as long as it's not the Jets[they have RBs already, so that's unlikely]. Dolphins haven't been in last place since 2007, so our seat must be warmed. Well I guess Sparano knows it's playoffs or bust in 2011 so that's good, but that's not too comforting considering what happened in the end. At least if the season tanks they can get Luck in the draft next year and a new coach, so that's something. Haven't lost hope for 2011 obviously, maybe this lights a fire under Sparano/Ireland. But...Lions, Bills, Browns=lasting bad taste. The Heat are officially the #1 team in Miami.
I love how now that Sparano is coming back everyone thinks we will suck. We weren't 3-13 last year and Henning is already gone.
*Throws his Nostradamus cap on the floor and pisses on it* They announce that tomorrow and there will not be a Joe Robbie Stadium, Pro Player Park, Pro Player Stadium, Dolphins Stadium, Dolphin Stadium, Land Shark Stadium, Sun Life Stadium or whatever the hell else they thought to call it; I will see to that.
Dont Worry. I had a talk with Harbaugh. Lets just say I made him an offer he couldnt refuse. Your job is safe Tony Thanks Bill. Now what do we do about that traitor Ireland? Cement shoes Tony, cement shoes
We will finish dead last in the AFC East and Morano will be fired by the bye week! 2011 will be a bigger joke then 2007!
It's crazy that people think we are in worse shape now than 2008 coming off a 1-15 season. They're grown-ups they'll work it out. Upgrade the offense like we did the defense this past year and we are set. Need to find a QB though.
**** this ****!!!!!!! This is just totally unacceptable and I am not even looking forward to next season. What a circus sideshow this Ross has turned this team into. The wallet of a king and the nuts of a gnat. Screw Ross!
LATEST ESPN UPDATE: After meeting w Harbaugh, source says Dolphins have decided that Tony Sparano is the best man for job. Will be retained. Via Chris Mortensen http://twitter.com/MORTREPORT
I fully expected this....now we will probably take Jake Locker at QB or some other crappy player. Nothing changes in Miami.
Nonsense. It doesn't change a thing. The thing that really garners respect? Winning. The players have enough vets in the locker room to know they have to listen to the coaches. When it works - they will respect him. If it fails - then they won't. The players knew Sparano would only be retained by a thread of hope - regardless as to whether the ownership gave thought to another coach or not. The players on the fringe will be fighting for their jobs. The Vets want to win and will not trash a season.
I just don't see this being true.. they wouldn't have told the media to be there in the morning for an important announcement just to tell them Sparano is coming back. That would be like lining them up and kicking them in the nuts one by one.
Well guys and gals...as if we weren't bad enough with the Saban and Cameron embarrassments. We're now OFFICIALLY the laughing stock of the league.
agreed but this sucks, we look terrible. sparano is ok to me. But this franchise is a joke....business-wise
