You can only get kicked in the groin so much. Some like me have a higher threshold for pain.

Sparano is a great leader, but he's in over his head X and O wise so we need either A) vastly superior talent, I'm talking Barry Switzer Cowboys talent. Or B) an offensive mastermind as the OC to cover for Tony's deficiency. Both of those are highly unlikely at this point. I see a long year on the horizon.

Thank the Lawd for the Miami Heat.

On top of it all the players will probably respect the organization a whole lot more for not hiring a coach that wanted to gut the team. Might serve as good motivation next year. I really don't think some folks are acting rationally here.

Hopefully all the bandwagon fans will go to their bandwagon boards so we don't have to see all their Tom Brady sigs. As far as i'm concerned i'd rather not watch football at all than root for another team so good riddance to the fairweather fans.

Absolutely it will be. Its because FA's will be uneasy about our situation. They usually are looking for money, but they also are looking at a place they can win. An unstable coaching situation usually doesn't foster a winning record, and FA's will look at Miami as the option of last resort. Some even may take a little less than play here (ala Jim Harbaugh).

Nice avy. I was contemplating a switcharoo to that, too, but I like the idea of having 14 draft picks every year.... and I can't wait to see what NE does at QB once Brady is gone.

I think we'll find someone who can get the job done. I feel like I'm the only one who is not hitting the panic button. Hell, I'm just glad Gruden isn't in Miami...

I really don't have a say either way, I'm a fan. My job is to root for whatever is on the field...
none of us have crystal balls here.
Who's our OC going to be, is the important question. Can he work with Sparano? Did Sparano not run the offensive plays in Dallas when Parcells was HC?

With a good OC, some change in philosophy...who's to say that Sparano cannot be a successful Head Coach? I respect CK's opinion but like I said, no one's all-knowing.

Real pain is 1-15, 4-12 and in a way 6-10 after being picked as a darkhorse for the SB, this is more "eh, we ain't bad, we ain't good" sort of pain.

We also have to upgrade special teams, as in "this must be done" as it just killed us all season long.

Damn..its got to be hard for Tony to try and lead this team with an owner and GM who don't want him. Just a very awkward situation to try to get a handle on.

Sad how much of a laughing stock this organization has become. Yay for another 7-9 season. We've become the Dick Jauron led Bills, congratulations Ross, hope you enjoy empty seats.

    Nah ... we're bad.

The offense is a 1-15 level offense. Two teams scored fewer points than the Dolphins. It's a disaster. Even the Bills scored more points than Miami! And, it is very unlikely after this situation that any brilliant OC will want to come here. Further, with only a 1st and 3rd in the 1st three rounds next year, this is much closer to a 4-12 team. The D simply cannot carry an offense that can only score to get a rank at 30th in the league.

And, I'd rather have the Browns offense at this point with Peyton Hillis.

As bad as it is, it's still not quite as sad as this franchise. How much of a ***** is Tony Sparano to sit around while his boss looks for someone better. Everyone is laughing at the Miami Dolphins, especially the Patriots and the Jets, and for very good reason.

I was pretty excited about possibly landing Harbaugh but this picture has me in fits!

Really hesitating to form an opinion on all this as who knows if this is the end of it; BUT...

I'm part bummed about losing out on Harbaugh. I was excited to be getting this guy in here. Part of me was also nervous though, especially as the day wore on. Too many similarities to Saban.

Of course, now that it looks like Harbaugh isn't coming here I can't shake the feeling that he's going to be a superstar somewhere else.

    Now onto Tony -

I felt bad for him all through this, despite my manlove for Harbaugh. He isn't a Cam Cameron, or Dave Wannstedt. He is a coach who made a lot of mistakes this year, mainly sticking with a horrible offensive staff for way too long. For that, he almost paid the price. Here's hoping maybe he has learned a lesson in all of this. Let's hope he reacts like a man with his back against the wall and coaches out of his skin next season. Like I said earlier today, Tony Sparano knows the most about what's wrong with this team. Whether or not he can change his conservative ways and get this thing turned around remains to be seen.

Am I happy we're rolling into next season with Tony Sparano as our head coach? Honestly, no.

Am I hoping Tony Sparano can rekindle the romance with us fans?

Well in 09 we were 25th in defense (yadda yadda yadda) the way I see it we can only improve on offense the question then becomes how much of an improvement we can make, and how the offense will be upgraded as right now the "freeze" is on, we cannot trade for other players and the only signable FA's are street free agents

We signed Brandon Marshall, but we didn't feature him. We basically ran the same offense as we did in 08-09. No bubble screens, no back shoulder fades, no fades, no smoke routes, no quick slants, very few drag routes. We lost Smiley, but we still relied on the power play, despite the obvious fact that Incognito wasn't a good enough puller to make it work consistently. Henne is better suited to a spread look where he can see the defense better, Bess is on the field instead of Polite etc. But we still used a majority I formation or 2 TE set, until the Lions game when the winds were at 20+ mph, then we decided to spread it out and throw all day. Our personnel didn't fit what we were trying to do. We're this so called tough, physical ground team but we got exposed, forced to pass to move the ball, and WE DONT HAVE THE PLAYERS for an effective drop back passing attack.

Moving forward, you need an OC to know where you're going to take the offense personnel wise. Do we sign a top tier WR to boost the pass game or a top tier LG to solidify the run game? Do we go after a QB in the 1st round, or a skill guy? Depends on what the HC/OC thinks of the guys we have vs. the guys available. Do we want bigger bruising backs for a power run game, or smaller quicker backs that are more versatile? Do we want lineman who are big slow maulers to pound on people, or smaller more agile guys who can move laterally, get to the second level, get out on screens, pull etc. Tough to shop for groceries when you don't know what you're cooking.

This is like a relationship. If it reaches the point to where you cant trust him/her, then you have to question your loyalty to them. Keeping on a coach by default b/c you have no other choice and then feeding us BS that "He's the best man for the job"? That's like a guy telling his wife that he really wasn't out ******** another women despite the lipstick on his collar and a pair of panties hanging out of his pocket. The trickle down effect from this could be catastrophic for years.

Bro, for me it all starts at the Qb position, imho Sparano would have be insane to hitch himself to Henne any longer, Henning, Lee, whomever, at this point I'd take Brandstater over Henne, that dude should not be a Qb in miami if at all possible.

Just to many game losing int's at crucial moments, he is the idiot nephew of the County Commisioner in Casino.

And how is that not very much on Henning?

As I said "Your offensive system should be tailored as much to your players as your players are tailored to a system (versatility is good)."

It's Ireland's job to decide the answers to your questions. And we have months before they need to be answered.

Sparano is a play not to lose, play for FG's loser, just as much as Henning was. Our offense is still a joke, and will continue to be. Obviously signing a bright offensive mind like Harbaugh would of fixed that problem, but our owner knows a lot about real estate, and not a single ****ing thing about football.
