I'm right out in the open expressing my dissatisfaction with this organization. Just b/c you feel nothing's gone wrong the past few days doesn't give you the right to judge others. The only coward is the pompous one hiding behind his computer screen taking potshots at members. It takes a lot of guts to do that when you're anonymous.
they really need to put a tent over this circus... if Tony Sparano has any balls whatsoever, tomorrow morning he goes and finds Ross and says; "Hey Steve, i want a raise, throw some of that Harbaugh money my way, jackass!"
We really don't have much time at all, and a lot of coaches still have their jobs b/c of that, IMO. We need an OC, and what reputable guy will want to come here to play for a lame duck? Heck, the guys on our current staff are probably dusting off their resumes as we speak. It is Ireland's job to decide, you're right. But he's flying blind if he doesn't know what types of players to target. And once we do find an OC, he'll have precious little time to install or build rapport considering there's probably going to be a lockout and a truncated prep time before the season begins.
When you are on the coaching gallows you have plenty of time to consider just how exactly you wound up there.
I'm here for the treasure hunt man, so I'm not going to sweat it right now. Come Super Bowl time and no OC, maybe I'll get concerned.
What is he clueless about exactly? He tried to get a new coach, it didn't work out, so he kept the one he had. Yeah it sucks, but what'd you want him to do, kidnap the guy and waterboard him until he signed a contract?
I hope you're not talking to me b/c I don't think being a Miami fan for 30 years actually qualifies as "bandwagon". Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we have to win stuff to be considered a bandwagon fan here? Just sayin. So tell me this? Would you enjoy running out and buying any sort of Dolphin memorabilia at the moment?
There are a ton of better options out there than Tony Sparano. This entire ordeal makes me feel like all of this was fake. It's like he was helping his good friend Jim Harbaugh land a bigger deal.
I'll agree this wasn't handled well. But with the CBA up in the air, this is a dumb time to hire a coach from the outside. I'd be willing to bet Cowher, Gruden, and Harbaugh will all wait another year or more before taking an NFL job. And unless the team makes huge strides, next year will be the year you get a new Head Coach. If you hire a new coach now and the new CBA isn't agreed upon until august, do you really want a team whose new highly paid coach had less than a month to implement his system? They should've waited another year and this was handled poorly but I'll bet you'll make a big splash with a new coach next year.
You don't keep a lame duck around. Sparano has proven to be a *****, that no one takes seriously. And it's been reported that it was Ross, who decided to go with Sparano, not Ross getting turned down. We're the laughing stock of the league right now, probably even more so than when we went 1-15.
Thank you RR. One person who actually gets this despite my nearly 15,000 posts here. Some people need to lighten the **** up and let people vent in their own ways b/c it's not like 98% of us arent upset right now. No offense AP.
We could of had Cowher or Gruden this year. Both wanted the job. Hopefully Ross enjoys empty seats. He deserves them.
it does. i still believe he can become a QB. I'm not ready to write him off. I do want a vet QB to challenge him in the offseason though just in case I'm wrong. Dont mistake my view of his poor play this season as a prediction of his future playing. He will be better next year for having gone through this. The question is how much.
If the guys didn't want to come then they didnt want to come, I give credit to Ross for trying. At this point, having lame duck Tony is better than any coach who we didnt already try to sign. Yeah it sucks, but what's the alternative?
Nope.... and apparently neither does Ross. Hey, I'm just an activist doing his job as a loyal fan to show that 'some of us' wont tolerate an organization being run like this. PS: don't ever ask for my mom's address b/c you won't get it. you've burned that bridge. just sayin.
At first I was upset with your Patriots nonsense, but then I thought about your other football team. I really feel like some of you Dabo frustrations are getting transferred over to this forum. Am I right?
What we need is a Qb and OC combination that can step directly in without missing time due to the CBA, if that means Orton and McDaniels than I am all for it.
in times like this we must remember the important things in life. The fact that I'm happy. Put away your selfish ways and look at the big picture. Sure you didnt get your coach, you've lost faith in your team but Adam is happy. This is whats important in life. Hope I helped
For many of us, it's not who they didn't bring in....... but rather who's still here and how this was handled.
This has been a topic of conversation on the Saints board. Many want it but don't know if Ricky would be open to it. Yes we like Ivory, but he had injury problems in college and he's having injury problems now. Bush's future is up in the air with him set to make 12mil next year. If he doesn't have a huge postseason, he's probably gone unless he takes a huge paycut. Pierre is a Free Agent and shouldve taken the Saints offer last year. The rumor was he wanted Steven Jackson money. He was rumored to be offered 2.5-3mil/yr for 3-4 years. Ivory will be a Saint next year but we could still have an opening for another back...Michael Bush and Ricky Williams are two of the most popular options at the moment. I'd be the best Pats poster on this board. (Only poster???) Enough people don't like me as it is, so what's the difference. At least I could then blame it on the team I root for.
I still believe in Tony. I feel like a lot of the stuff that people bring up about him are overblown, especially the losing the locker room BS. I watch this team closely enough every week to know that the players love the guy. And don't be surprised if the way this was handled motivates those players as well as Sparano. Think about that, all of the players that love playing for Sparano, which in my estimation is a majority, don't you think they're going to push themselves harder for him now after the way this went down? They want to show they have their Tony's back. And the same goes for Sparano in being more motivated himself. Don't jump to conclusions that this is going to be a disaster.
