These guys like the fit for our current offense (which was abysmal) http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/09000d5d81d7d68c/Where-Vince-will-land His td/int ratio is horrible lol 42/42 but he has a winning record which is better than what we can say for Henne right now. So if everything pans out the way it looks like it might we might not have a good option in the draft at QB without making some costly moves. This guy would essentially come as a freebie and it could give us time to land a franchise QB in the years to come and whats to say this guy doesnt turn it around in a new environment, jhe's still a young guy.
Hey man its better than our current predicament, I dont see any good talent at QB after Luck in the draft and unless we want Mcnabb or if Farve comes back out of retirement to come to Miami (LOL) which was actually said on ESPN btw, this would be an ideal option. I heard some people posting on the boards Kyle Orton but imo Young is better than Orton and Orton has topped out he is what he is, Young still has potential someone just needs to get it out the bastage.
I'd rather have Henne **removed by Staff** before he dons the Dolphins uniform again. Thiggy im cool with i'd let him compete in the offseason and I never even heard of your other guy :/
That's like saying AIDS is better than pancreatic cancer. Sure, it's true - but do you go out and acquire AIDS just because you have pancreatic cancer?
Drew Brees was another teams trash... Chad Pennington was another teams trash he lead us to an 11-5 season.
Both were let go because they're team believed they had someone better. Titans do not. I'll trust Jeff Fisher's insight.
I would not be opposed to Vince Young. He was a much better passer this year then last year and his overall play has improved. I don't think everything here in TN was his fault. I do think Fisher and Young just did not see eye to eye on alot of things and when the coach/QB does not get along its doomed for failure. Yeah, he has maturity issues but I firmly believe that a change of scenery and a chip on his shoulder and Vince Young can become a very capable QB in the NFL. He made quite a few passes this year that made me say "wow" he is starting to turn the corner on being a "passing QB"
This is where Dolphins fans just take things to far. Please explain to me how he is better than Henne for us. Doesn't put up great stats, teammates don't like him, and at least Henne has played for a couple of years with the players around him. Just doesn't make sense to me to go out and try and get all these average QBs that have zero experience with any of the players on our offense. Plus, what is everyone's obsession with running QBs lately? First it was Terrelle Pryor and Cam Newton everyone wanted in the draft, and now people want us to not only trade for Vince Young, but to pay his contract as well? I promise you this. If we can get Henne one more receiver worth playing, a decent running game, and a healthy offensive line, he will be great. We already got rid of Henne's worst asset and that was Dan Henning. His weaknesses right now are minor things and can be fixed. Like, going through too many reads sometimes, movement in the pocket, reading defenses...Some of you forget the fact that he can make any throw in the world.
I dunno for a few million if he is released and not traded by the Titans, the guy is worth the risk. Doesn't cost you picks or players and gives you another competing guy at QB.
I don't think we would have to trade for VY. He will get his outright release on Feb 7. Sure the Titans will try to trade him but the whole league knows he is leaving TN. Why trade for him?
Too funny. We had a patient come in the other day who tested + for AIDS. One of the the Dr's here told her that having AIDS today isn't like having AIDS in 1985. She then told her that if she had a choice between pancratic cancer or AIDS she would choose AIDS. (I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, but I thought it was funny)
I'd rather have Favre than Young, LOL. Can we not move into a different direction with high character guys that actually like football and not arrogant guys that play for the celebrity of football and the $$?
That went away long ago when they started paying players millions of dollars before even making an NFL play.
Locating the moronic headcase anywhere near South Beach is as predictable as putting a nun in a pickle bin.
Just think: Vince Young and Brandon Marshall in the same huddle. Mega-talent with the combined composure and maturity of a 7-year old.
Wow, nothing like wishing ill will on a guy you dont know. Classy... classy... Wonder how you'd feel if someone here posted about wishing your son/brother/father/wife/mother/whoever **removed by Staff**. Bet you'd be thrilled. Thiggy is nothing more than a backup... the sooner that's realized by all, the better. "My other guy", Tom Brandstater, is our 3rd QB presently (since Pennington is toast). Thanks for paying attention and staying classy.
I don't think Vince Young would be so terrible here. I do think he is better then Henne was in 2010. I also think a new team/staff/location may be just what he needs. He would come relatively cheap, and is NFL ready. I actually think there will be quite a few teams interested in him.
Watching Vince lead the comeback in his championship game I'd never seen all around athlete that dominate put a game on his shoulders like that at that level. I know the guy who provides the Heisman tuxedos and he said Young was very down to earth and laid back. He was in a bad situation in TN and I think with a player oriented Sparano and Ricky's similar situation he could grow in Miami. I dont see much of the wildcat being involved anymore w/o Henning but in this league evolving into spreading the field he is hard to game plan around. I'd love to see him in a dolphin uniform especially if the Titans are paying most of the salary.
Vince would be a huge upgrade over what we have. I cannot believe people are still OK with Henne at this point. I would prefer a first round draft pick, but if it comes down to Henne or Vince Young, Im siding with VY and hoping that maybe having a coach who likes him instead of a dick like Fischer might improve his outlook. And if not, then at least we tried instead riding the **** train with Henne for another season.
The problem with Vince Young is work ethic. He is a bad student, has always been a bad student (as the wonderlic informed us, in part), and does not want to study. It is what it is. Maybe it was the culture in which he was raised - that's simply a problem for a lot of kids who are superstar athletes. They don't have to work and don't have a mentor to let them know they need to be great students of the game. Young has the physical talent, were he willing to spend 16 hours / day at the facility (in fact, I'd almost have that written in the contract if I signed him), to be a success. His other problem - aside from not wanting to be a student - is he has psychological issues. I'd love to have his talent and think we'd actually do better than with Henne. But, his baggage is just too much to give a big deal to. I'd sign him to 2 years at about $2-3 Million per. With an option for a 3rd. If he bombs, cut him and it's not a great loss.
My top three wish list for the Dolphins QB next season: 1. Trade our 3rd and a player for Kyle Orton. 2. Sign Vince Young. I liked him out of college and I like him now for the Dolphins. Vince Young is EXACTLY the kind of player we need at QB unless we can land a better one (unlikely). 3. Sign Carson Palmer.
