Thank you Mr. Ross for having the sense to keep Sparano! Thank you for keeping Ireland... Give these guys a chance! Now they can emerge from the shadow of Parcells and give this team a go. Obviously you saw the grand picture as presented by Sparano/Ireland and realized the guy from Cali, with no experience was not the answer. Now, please! Let us match the skill of Nolan with an offensive mind... Young, cutting-edge stuff with computer skills. I'm excited now going into the offseason! Ireland - study the books and become as adept with offensive players as you are with D! Give the guy credit though, he can come up with some undrafted gems...
omg! my eyes are burning! its a POSITIVE POST!!!!!! well said bro....if they are our coaches, im behind them. its in my blood.
Nooooo! Screw Ross!! He is moving the team to the moon!! We are doooomed!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Don't think positive, Sparano is an idiot even though we called him a genius two years ago. He can't motivate men even though he motivated us from 1-15 to 11-5.. He can't read minds or be a psychic when he clearly should have known that Henne would regress so much..
Ummm.. yeah they....ummm did such a "great" job this year.............good....im saving money by not buying season tickets next year............you have another horrible year and you reward the bums by bringing them back? What is a stupidity about giving chances???? Doesnt the team as a whole deserve a better chance?
I will see you this time of year again in 2012, after another playoff miss. You have no idea how excited I am to watch this offense run the ball, run the ball, run the ball some more, then settle for field games all day long. What people don't realize is, Chad Henne is the only player on this offense that can spark our offense up. The running game cannot, no matter how good it is. Now, that we don't have any offensive minded guys running this team, it looks like we will be going back in time and everyone will be throwing the blame back on Henne.
Yeah, with a whopping 32 OC jobs, it is a crazy idea to think there is someone out there who would take the Miami one. I mean coaching in the NFL isn't elite or anything.
While I don't share your enthusiasm, I am glad that Tony is going to get another shot. I will withhold my unbridled enthusiasm until I see a new and innovative OC and a real bonafide QB in house.
I love the optimism, but seriously, Ross goofed up here. He has egg on his and the faces of the organization, staff, players and it's fans. Perhaps Harbaugh might not have been the answer. Perhaps Ireland/Sparano will be the answer, but the bottom line is that Ross doesn't think they are the answer and went about looking for a replacement by putting the cart before the horse and embarrassing all of us. As I've said in other threads, this will all be forgotten by this time next year with 11 wins and a playoff berth, no matter who the HC and OC are. If Sparano is the answer, Ross now has to extend his contract and allow him to get a top flight OC in here. Then he has to open the purse-strings in FA and in the draft. No top flight coaches will want to come here if Tony is a lame-duck coach and at this point, that's exactly what he is and the owner is/has been actively searching for a replacement...
Still hanging your hat on another franchise savior? Let's see, pick 1: Offensive Genius and Innovator : Cam Cameron - Outcome - 1-15, top 5 worst seasons in NFL history. Super Bowl Winning Coach and guaranteed Championship: Jimmy Johnson - 62-7 College Super Coach and NFL ready superstar: Nick Saban: Outcome - I'm not interested in that job!! Finally we get a coach and regime that is committed to a rebuild, has revamped and infused talent in to the roster yet got unlucky with a QB that was seemingly well on his way, and it's time for savior number 4? Who should we go with, the college genius or the Super Bowl winning coach this time around?
That's a subjective question, one of opinion. I believe Sparano has what it takes to become a very good coach in this league. Obviously many disagree, but he is a great motivator and he is inspirational, and with a strong OC added to the staff, I believe Sparano becomes a strong, successful coach.
I think the team is giving up on him. Motivation and inspiration is great for college coaches. I like your honest answer but just disagree like you said.
The OP is positive, I believe I counted 10 out the next 18 posts that are negative. Really? Can't a dude put something up that goes against the angst and negativity without getting trolled?
I feel that it will be hard for Sporano to regain the faith of his team, but not impossible. To be honest, I really don't care who any of the coaches are as long as we improve. I hope the new year brings a running game and a passing game to south Florida.
the team gave up on him. that was obvious. and if hes retained, what OC would want to come in and be under a HC that plays conservatively? the reality is Sparano had to know his job was on the line by the Lions game. and once again he showed his true colors and played not to lose. you would think the Steelers game might have been an eye opener for him, but apparently not. knowing his job was at stake, he reverted once again to what he really is. conservative.
no one is trolliing anyone. we are expressing our opinions and talking football which is what i thought a chat board was all about. the team quit on Tony, and now ppl want to just brush it off if hes retained? bizarre IMO
Why would you come here ? You will be under the most intense pressure of any OC in the NFL. If you don't perform you will be responsible for losing the jobs of everyone else in the organization (Ross will certainly blow everyone out next year if its this bad) and if you are a really good OC you think Miami is your only choice ? God people on here crack me up
Dude some people are just so blinded by loyalty they refuse to see the truth. A lot of people in Nazi Germany were the same way, blindly loyal and then if someone questioned the regime they were not a good German and an enemy of the state.
Why would you come here ? because by game 3 theres a strong possiblity that you could be the interim hc of the miami dolphins and that would be the only reason.might even make for a stronger point not to come here actually.
Won't ever catch me saying "Thank you Ross". How can you say thank you to a guy that just completely embarrassed himself, Sparano, and the entire organization including the players and fans? Now players have become alienated due to this debacle that just took place. I'm really excited about the impending let down that will be the 2011-2012 season. Woohooo!!!
Wow Hulk I usually agree wit you but not on this one. These clowns have HAD 3 YEARS to have a chance didn't they? Is Sparano going to magically become Bill Belichick overnight? Is he somehow going to be the Gandhi of a locker room full of descent? Is Henne going to get some magical undewear from Marino to become a true superstar? Is Ireland going to be able to lure multiple Key free agents to Miami for next years Super Bowl run as Ross Expects? I just don't see it man. This team is in a downward spiral and this year will be full of negativity and people looking to distance themselves from another 7-9 season. Leave it to this regime to not only ruin the football season but also ruin any hope I had for productive offseason as well.
Well, lets play devils advocate. McDaniel just got fired, know's he is not going to get a HC job this year, but if he comes here and turns around a morbid offense, his star rises again.
Nice post, and I really like what I bolded. Computer skills. Might not seem like much, but that's the way a lot of young coordinators, both defensive and offensive, are succeeding in today's NFL. Very technical / statistical regression and trending programs to help them identify patters in defenses, and how to exploit them on offense. I'm quite positive fossils like Henning have no knowledge of this stuff, and that's why their units cannot compete at this level.
Coach Sparano...He took the hit...and he stayed by his team.....I respect that. He may have his flaws, but one flaw he doesn't have, is his love for our team..I'am sure he and his family felt humiliation in all of this, disrespected, 2nd rate, but if he stands up after all this is over, and doesn't say a word about the process, and that all that he cares about is coaching his team past this hurdle, and that he doesn't want to go anywhere but right here?...Iam gonna support and protect that mother grabber with everything I got. I was excited as hell to aquire Harbaugh for the obvious reason's, but The character that is being revealed by this man {Sparano} and what i'am starting to realize, is what is most impressive about this man..The humility he is showing, is humbling to me. Its not whether Ross stood by him, Ross did what he had to do, and iam sure it was done in a more ethical way than the media would have you believe Its about Coach standing by us during this stretch that is most impressive, to hear all the bad, and the criticism, but yet to be willing to accept the challenge while keeping his mouth shout, will show great character. {and I realize if he quits he doesn't make his money} I realize that some will say that he should tell ross he's leaving the team after he was dangled like this, and that would be the right thing to do, however I ask you to look deeper into his passion for our team...It's not in his makeup to leave us, no matter how he was treated...That is more impressive to me. If this indeed is how he conducts himself..I believe and hope we all give him another chance, a clean slate, he will of deserved all of our respect..
So many people bring up the 1-15 record. Saying TS brought us back from that. The truth is we were a much better team then the 1-15 record. I say without Cam running things, we would have been EASILY 7-9. The team didn't give a rats *** about trying to win. I still think Baltimore "GAVE" us that lone win. Watch the game again. They had a dozen chances to win that game. Then the next year Cam became their OC. TS isn't responsible for a 10 game turnaround. If anything, having Penny out there gave us the other 3-4 wins.
You are basing your opinion of Ross's decision purely off of speculation, along with many others. I base my opinion from what I have seen. Sparano is meticulous and I love that. He is honest and respectful of his players. Other than this season he has remained pretty aggressive (going for 4th and short-yardage etc.). Dan Henning was exposed for what he is this year: predictable; unimaginitive; safe.
