I would like to nominate our forum with a temporary name...''The fistpumpers''.. Tony Tony Tony Tony... lol
Lame duck is a lame duck no matter how much money you give him... Players stopped playing for him, I dont see how keeping this guy here at this point is even justifiable. We just got shutdown by a nobody coach who decided to take 10 millions dollars less than to be with the Dolphins, thats speaks volumes people.
Wow, so first we want to fire him and find someone new, now we want to give him a raise to reward back to back sub 500 seasons??? And extend his contract so people and players think we still want him even after everyone knows we don't? Wow, great idea. This just gets better ansd better, yet still doesn't solve a single problem. Wow.
Want more rumors??? Rumor has it Sparano threaten to quit today and is contemplating on quiting. Also heard he might be interested in being UCONN HC. Any know if that job is vacant?
Good for Tony if it is true and he's been using this hanging in limbo time to line up something else instead of waiting on Dumbo to fly back from Cali and tell him how much he loves him and would never replace him.
The UConn job IS vacant, but I think that is a red herring. I think a lot are pinpointing him to that job because of his New Haven connections.
By the way, the team had a meeting with......ta da ! Eric Mangini set up this afternoon to "consult" with us. YES you read that right, to consult. A guy that has been fired from 2 HC jobs in 3 years is going to consult with us and give us advise. OH MY GOD ! I have to laugh or I will cry !!!!
Yeah the money is going to be different, but after all of this I would go if I were him. Ross needs to fire everybody...pay a visit to Cowher and beg for him to be the face of the franchise from here on out. This situation will follow this team the entire season if there is a season. Firing everybody and bring in Cowher will allow things to settle down and start to erase the last few days of this nightmare.
Thing is...I bet Cowher wouldn't take it now even if he got what he was asking for initially. Not after the way this mess has played out.
Honestly, I love this team, and I'm always going to be a fan, but that being said, I hope Sparano does quit on us. Ross quit on him, the players quit on him, now we're in a sense begging to have him back, I think its only fitting and quite perfect actually that he quits on Ross now. Ross deserves it.
Hopefully an extension so that MAYBE he'll be able to recruit a decent OC and sign some quality FAs. Otherwise, 2011 is gonna be uglyfull. Year 4 coming up and truthfully, we're closer to being as bad as the Bills than we are to being as good as the Pats/Jets.
Interpreting this info,Ross gambled and lost and now he has to pay off his debts . Sparano will be the beneficiary of Ross's gamble .Ross has to extend him in order to demonstrate that Sparano has his support . Without the extension and raise he has little chance of attracting assistant coaches and players in free agency.Without an exciting new assistant coaching hire or free agent acquisitions this team will not be able to attract fans. If Ross decides to fire this regime next year it will cost him a lot more money than it would have cost him to fire them this year.Again...he gambled and lost. Catch22

Well at least we'll be players for Luck in net yrs draft! On another note, wouldnt it be something if sparano spurned us for the newly vacated Stanford job... LOL
