Lord knows if he is right but if he is at least that fiasco is over with! http://twitter.com/adamschefter
So long Captain Comeback.. Bastard killed our season when he led a miraculous comeback against the Phins where Marino suffered broken ribs and now he helps tear this franchise down. You have now joined Dr Footie Scholls and Bill Bellicheat as my least favorite head coaches that I pray have horrible misfortune in the next few years.
Shefter, who broke this story, claims the Dolphins never even made an offer to Harbaugh. If you're going to blame anyone for this franchise being an absolute disgrace.... look no further than Stephen Ross, bro.
He is getting $5 mil/year. If it's true that Ross offered him $8mil (which I doubt) his wife must really hate S. Florida.
No I'll look at bandwagon fans that change their avatars and cry like little girls in unison to force owners to make rash decisions Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban, Bill Parcells ring a bell? For once we have a true owner, if all the misguided reports are true, that told a primadonna like Harbaugh to go shove it. I applaud that. Harbaugh looks a lot like Saban. And people in San Fran will one day call him Captain Backstabber.
Not necessary. It's quite obvious. The nerve of you to refer to me as a bandwagon fan.... I've put more into this team than you could ever imagine. As a paying customer I deserve the right to trash this organization if I am dissatisfied. I'm not hopping on the Patriots bandwagon. I put that avatar up because it's a slap in the face to the Miami Dolphins, and they deserve to be slapped in the face. I admire the Patriots if anything. There's an organization that knows what the **** they are doing. Want an example of an organization that doesn't have a clue? Look no further than our beloved Miami Dolphins. We've done nothing so far in my entire life time. Nothing. In 22 years I have no idea what winning feels like. Thank God for the Heat, Canes, and Marlins.
You really think that's how that conversation went? I have a hard time believing that idiot of an owner flew across the country in desperation to tell Jim Harbaugh to shove it. Come on, man. Let's be real.
We have done nothing because outside of the Trifecta, we tried to patch raging floods with band aids. We never had the balls as franchise to rebuild the team from the bottom up. To fix the trenches. To have a plan of attack. For the first time since I've been a fan (30 years now), we have finally stuck to a plan and now that we hit some adversity, three freaking years removed from infamy, everyone gets their panties in a wad and attacks the ownership and the organization from all angles. It's pure HORESCRAP and I'll call it how I see it. Henne had severe growing pains that NOBODY could have anticipated and our special teams killed us. But beyond that we have made strides. Vontae Davis Cam Wake Bess Marshall Long McDaniels Sean Smith Nolan Carrol Clemens Misi Berger Fasano Starks Solial Dansby Odrick (who knows what he will do) These players were either signed or developed amazingly under this regime. We had CRAP in 2008 when training camp started. We finally have built a nucleus and now everyone is going to jump ship because the owner explored different options? Please. I know everyone is emotional about this but it is beyond ridiculous.
I understand your frustration. It has taken a while to get here and it looks like things are not getting any better soon. The credability of the organization has taken a hit.
Nope I think he flew cross country to have a conversation with Harbaugh. I don't know how that conversation went or what transpired, but either we refused to bend over and let Harbaugh stick it in without lube or Harbaugh played us to leverage the 49'ers. To be honest I don't care what happened.
Hmmm. Here's hoping that Harbaugh turns out to be the same type of "prize" that we "stole" from the Falcons in 2008.
dude, that just sounds so juvenile. I know you're better than this. having tom brady as your av is a slap in the face to no one. Ross and Ireland aren't on these boards. Sparano isn't signing onto thephins and i highly doubt any of the players are either. None of us on here (i think) have anything 'real' to do with the dolphins. You having a patriots player as your av just shows that you must like Tom Brady. Cause, personally, i couldn't do it. And you want to get mad? In our 22 years on this planet, the bills have lost 4 superbowls. the Eagles have lost 3 NFC championships and then a super bowl, the chargers never got to one with one of the best rosters ive ever seen, the seahawks, eagles, cardinals, lions, etc have NEVER won a super bowl, and all of these teams did not have the joy of seeing Dan Marino play for their team.
I'm sorry. I'm too disappointed and frustrated right now to even think of anything this regime has done in a positive light. I do admire your optimism. Hopefully we can continue this conversation in the offseason. I'm just very depressed as a Miami Dolphins fan right now. Yesterday provided hope. Today? Back to reality.
Good luck. I wish you guys the absolute best. Please don't allow a 7-9 team to sneak into the postseason next year.
Cowher/gruden/Harbaugh 3...Dolphin culture/city of Miami/horrible stadium 0... He gave us an interview out of respect nothing more nothing less..on the record saying he would choose frisco...no way he chooses what our culture has to offer more than the niners and that area.
I admire the Patriots. I admire BB. I admire Tom Brady. Hate them all as a Dolphins fan but my level of respect is over the top. I am admittedly very jealous. And to this day I still feel sorry for Dan Marino.
I don't care what BS story Ross sold Schefter, everyone except a few Pollyannas know that Ross got snubbed by Harbaugh. The Dolphins again look like a joke, just like when Saban left us for Alabama, just like when we passed on Brees for Culpepper, just like when we drafted Ginn, just like when we took Long instead of Ryan. A change of owners hasn't done anything to change this team's image.
So he can't voice Or display his displeasure with the team in the manner he desires but its ok for u to voice your displeasure with him bc he's not handling it the way you prefer. Quote hyporitical of you. Maybe you can tell the rest of us how we should feel. Just sayin
The past decade has been just about unbearable. It's shocking how one franchise can screw up so many times.
If anyone is offended by a little ole Brady picture, then you've got deeper issues to worry about. No offense.
U Do you really believe Ross fired up his Gulstream IV and flew across the country at the cost of 17-20k a flight hour, through the middle of the night mind you and not make an offer? Remember they already met with Harbaugh at the Orange Bowl.
So did Espn ,They never offered a contract just\seeing how interested he would be to come to Miami,Im lost
I don't feel bad about this at all. We didn't "lose" Harbaugh. I have no interest in college coaches. I want guys that have NFL coaching experience.
I can only imagine all that time studying film, game planning, the hours spent in the gym. One day the moment will occur to many that you don't get to make the decisions or influence the outcome of the game and your only investment is your time rooting for the team. If you've invested more then you bought fools gold.
So the Miami Dolphins organization is a disgrace? Wow!! I don't think those who say this realize what happened or may have happened. It's just jump the gun with the sky is falling. Did any of those people stop to think that the Dolphins may have learned that Harbough really wanted to be in SF all along and though a ton of money might have swayed him, it was still the place he wanted to be. He and his WIFE!!!!!!! Does that sound familiar? Freaking Nick Satan times2. I commend Ross for seeing this and not persuing him further. If Ross keeps Sparano, I think it is a mistake but this is not the end of the damned earth. That was 4 seasons ago when the team almost set the record for no wins in a season..
Yeah but try to make that sense with some of the goody-goody guys around here. They just are stuck with their heads in the sand. So effing gullible.
Harbaugh would have made significantly more $$ in Miami (at least during the contract years) not just b/c of the offer but also b/c of the difference in state taxes (10.3% to 0%). But, from a football perspective and long term future - I honestly think he made the better decision. No Cal is a nice area to live also. But, he will have time to rebuild with a few more resources. Several other points have been made but I think, objectively, he did the right thing. Far less pressure as well b/c he is not the highest paid coach in the NFL. He also will get a chance to compete against mediocre teams.
Should be fun watching the 49ers cruise to the playoffs while we have yet another 7-9 season. Thanks Ross. Enjoy the empty seats you ****ing clown.
