I have been on record for a while now and never changed my opinion that Tony Sparano deserved one more season as our HC. I have also been on record (dating to LAST season) as saying that Chad Henne is not an NFL caliber QB.

It looks as if I was right on Tony Sparano. If Chad Henne has a good season and leads us to the playoffs I will be one of the first to eat crow.

But, with as much a$s-kissing you have been giving Henne ALL SEASON LONG you will be eating crow for months if Henne looks like he has been all along next season.

and to think...that "idiot" is 4-2 versus your team?

You know I couldn't let that one slide...right?

Well since he's unlikely to make it thru next season before being fired, keep your own fork and knife ready

lol... I haven't kissed anyone's ***. The ONLY thing I've said about Henne, as I said about sparano, is that he needs more experience and a better OC in order to see who he really is.

I have never, not once, said that Henne is anything other than a green QB who lacks experience. I have also said that he has shown ENOUGH flashes of being good. I think most here would agree with me. After all, how many here wanted Henne to be the starter this year? Many, if not ALL. And the reason is because he showed those flashes last season.

I will stick by everything I've written here. ;)

Thank God you can say that word now and it doesn't make Dan Henning nervous anymore.

Almost not worth responding to - this observation is simply shallow - you're being defensive not rational here. But, I'll give it one go. If your team is down and needs only a FG to win or tie; or if your team is tied and needs only a FG to win - when you drive down field and get that - and win the game - that's a great drive. You won the game and that's all you needed that moment.

But, in the middle of the game in the NFL, driving to the 20 and getting a FG is not going to win you ball games. The Dolphins were the 3rd lowest scoring team and when you trade FGs for TDs that's a problem. A FG is like kissing your sister. You will not win ball games that way. That's why Sparano's excitement over a FG during the middle of the 2nd quarter on an average drive is absurd. There's a reason there's the phrase, "They had to settle for a FG," but no such thing as "Settling for a TD."

How do you know that the FG in the 2nd quarter won't be the game winning FG?

You don't. That's why I am happy when the Dolphins put ANY points on the board. Of course I'd be happier if those points were 6, but again, maybe those 3 points will be the difference between a win and a loss.

I realize that the Dolphins offense sucked this season. I realize that TD's are always better than FG's. What I also understand is that points are points no matter if they are in the 1st or 4th quarter. I also realize that our offense was able to move the ball fairly effectively for most of the season. A lot of those FG's were due to the play calling. The person who called those plays is gone.

All in all I want a HC who is emotional. Being happy about scoring, rather it be a TD or FG, is OK in my book.

I am hoping to see "finger pumping" directed at the owner's booth after TD's. LOL

I hope he continues his fist pumping after any score. At least the guy shows he has some enthusiasm for his team.

how many other NFl HC's behave the way Sparano does after made fg's? and im not referring to game tying or game winning ones late in the 4th. appreciate his passion all you like, but there are other ways to show it that dont include acting like a buffoon on the sidelines IMO.

I'm never going to knock a guy for having that much passion and love for his team. He's a first time head coach and it's obvious he loves it. Can he do some things better? Absolutely he can, but he's learning on the job and doing the best he can with what he had, Henning.

Being a NFL HC is not learn on the job vocational training! They are suppose to come with the experience and background to succeed! Look at Sparano everytime he has been promoted in the NFL he has failed! You think it was by accident he lost his play calling duties in Dallas? When your only line is " friend of bill" on your resume. The team is stuck with a clueless blown calling timeout on change if possession, and before half for the other team to score a TD! That is what happens when your emotions take control and you make rush decisions!
