The more I think about it, the more I see the importance of the ownership change and how Wayne essentially set Ross up to fail the moment we faced a big challenge.

Wayne, AKA Garbage Man, who always chose to go the populist route when making personnel decisions was ready to get out of the football business. He obviously couldn't go the route he took with Marlins, but needed a quick fix. After a disastrous 1-15 season, he had to pull all the stops. .I can almost imagine the conversation. "Bill, I am selling this team next year and have an agreement in principle with Ross, a land developer than envisions Joe Robbie (the stadium I stole when I changed the name) as a destination Super Bowl attraction. I know Atlanta looks great, but let's make a deal. I give you full control and a contract with an opt out clause. If you get tired, or bored, or just don't like the direction of the team, you can opt out yet still get paid the full contract when I leave next year!!"

Well Wayne set the wheels in motion when he gave Parcells the ability to participate in heavily tilted contract that basically washed his hands of any responsibility once Wanye was gone. Part 1 worked- The team had a miraculous turnaround in 2008, the value of the team went up, things were on the upswing and we had an ownership change.

Fast forward 2 years later. Parcells is nowhere to be seen, undermines the team with leaks through his media pals and the Phins face a public backlash against Sparano after the new naive owner predicts playoffs and we invest tons of money in Marshall.
So who do we have to manage this situation? Do we have the man with a track record for toughness who has clear initiatives and connections throughout the league? No we have a novice in Ireland that has duel loyalties to both his paycheck and the man he hired in Sparano, and Ross, who knows more about real estate transactions and building an image than running an NFL team.

The perfect storm for what we have witnessed this week.

The final chapter in Wayne's tenure here. Full of good and self serving interests, but ultimately more pain and suffering for this franchise and team.

**** Craterface. I'm 23 and knew what he was doing in 1998 was a bastard move, and still think it was.

That lease the Marlins have right now at JRS is ******ed, and it's even more ******ed how he gave Parcells a "Get out of Jail Free" card with a guarenteed paycheck to boot.

When he wanted to leave a franchise, he always left it in shambles (Panthers too)
