Quarterbacks coach David Lee and tight ends coach George DeLeone could be out as well

    Lazy reading? ;)

Actually, it is poor reporting or the sources these guys are using are just bad (Pete Carmichael? As others noted, he's the OC and that won't work for him to come here). We've seen some bad "sources" already this past week.

    That's the issue.

The guys I would look at and aggressively pursue for OC: John Ramsdell (Chargers); James Urban (Eagles); and Joe Lombardi (Saints) - all QB coaches on teams with very good offensive systems.

I just don't see the deal with Carmichael. Coaches can make lateral moves with permission but I doubt the Saints want to let him go.

Not sure about McDouche, despite his ability. And while I used to love the idea of Pennington as QB coach, his two years of mentoring Henne hasn;t exactly produced stunning results.

I really fail to see the fascination with Pennington...... he's easy to like/root for because he's a good guy. Other than that, he's got nothing to hang his hat on as far as a coaching goes and IMO, re-signing him was a total blunder. He fit Sparano's style of coaching and that's about it.

Pennington will not lose many games by making mental errors, and he can read a defense. If you notice as soon as he went on IR, his separation from Henne really showed as Chad was making a ton of mistakes. Besides, anything that gets David Lee away from our young QB's I am in favor of.

I am not very familiar with any of the three coaches you mention. If I go by their team's O and QB, Ramsdell would be my choice. I do like SD's balance, run and pass, as well as thinking he would be best for a Henne "type" of QB.

Penny is a student of the game, and I love his work ethic. His extra film study, work with WR's, and reading D's can only help Henne. However, this has to go with an OC who will unleash the Henne, and allow him to not play scared.

Pennington has Coach written all over him
& will pay big dividends if we recognize
his exceptional intelligence, character, experience & talent
Pennington is a natural leader & knows how to win
he's a pundit & an inextinguishable student of the game
this is a fish we can't afford to let get away:dolphin:

Why can't Pennington keep Hennings Playbooks and be the OC? I mean, the entire team knows the playbook, and with Pennington running the show I'm sure smarter decisions will be made during the game....like NO WILDCAT on 4th and 23.

I mean, if he can add in a few of his own wrinkles into an already established playbook, the playcalling part should come easy and natural for him. With Henne being mentored by him, and the rest of the team respecting him---he can easily be placed in that situation. He's already lead them....now lead them to the promised land.

I was excited to read this today................

QB Coach David Lee leaving for Ole Miss

"Lee, a cautious sort, seemed to turn Henne into something of a cautious, undaring kind of quarterback. Henne didn't often dare go with his gut or heart and simply fling it. He trusted the book instead of his eyes.
And that turned Henne into something of a robot. It clearly did not work. It needed to be broken up. And now it is."

Best thing I read all day. When I heard Lee was ripping into Marshall and Thigpen for changing routes based on what they saw in the defense at the LOS, on our ONLY TD DRIVE OF THE GAME... I realized he was too stupidly authoritarian and mistrusting of his players to allow any offensive success.

May as well tell players to swim straightjacketed.

I think now that the HC fiasco is over the two best things that needed to happen - have happened. 1) the OC is gone 2) the QB coach is gone. I also think there will be a ton of other coaches going to. I don't know who was calling the defensive audible plays but our DB's were caught in the wrong scheme many, many times this year and got burned because of it. That adjustment needs to be made as well.

Great news in recent days; two things that I have been waiting for all season have happened. David Lee is out - and so is Evan Marcus. David Lee has warped Henne's development since its inception and our repeated season ending injuries under the watch of Evan Marcus will also change. Toss is Henning leaving and the last seven days have been a great tri-fecta for Dolphin fans everywhere.

    Back in Miami
Deguglielmo should be let go IMO.
I didn't like at all what I saw from that unit and I saw issues before the injury bug hit us hard.
Complete confusion at times. They were badly prepared.

Deguglielmo along with Henning thrived in the 2009 run offense, but faltered in 2010's attempt at a pass offense. Deguglielmo came from the Giants powerful run offense throughout the superbowl years with Brandon Jacobs. Deguglielmo has the skill but lacks the pass offense experience to be effective. Like I have said a few times already on this board; I saw nothing wrong with the O-line before they fiddled with it last year.
