Mallet choked so hard against The Overrated State in that bowl game that I couldn't imagine him trying to play at NFL speeds...
Very, very soon. You can see some of the videos I have here for the Stanford players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nKGbYiDcL4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI405lwlrig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8chBEKDNMeY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=St0Zyeh43ow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzm6HeFS2sE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdJn_KdwNfQ
wow, what did they do?just throw some names in a hat?ingram slipping past 15? im not sold that the bills go for cam newton there as fitz did very well for them this year and they need alot of help on the o-line/defense.i could actually see them trading down and cincy going for newton as palmer may be on the outs with them and even still they don't really have a solid back-up im just not sure cam fits their offensive style so if not enwton look for jones the receiver from bama. i find it hard to believe harbaugh would tank his first season so he could get luck next year so i see them drafting one this year just maybe not in the first.
I dont think either one would be a horrible choice. Now that Lee is gone perhaps with the right QB coach they could do well in the NFL. If we dont end up with a QB in the first round a healthy Ponder wouldnt be bad in round 3 especially with a good QB coach.
As much as taking a QB early would be the correct move for the future Is this regime with Ireland and Sparano going to draft for the future or are they going to draft for immediate help to save their jobs which will be gone if things don't change and change fast next season
not much talk about him because no one expected him to declare early, now that he did, everyone is talking about this kids talent
Mallet was never a top 10. So there's your issue #1. I'm a bigger fan of Mallets potential then some and I still and have always viewed him as a 2nd rounder. He's got to many flaws to go high first.
They do this, instead of Ingram (if he is still there) it will be another epic failure of this team. With Luck out, I don't care for any of these QB's in this draft. I was not impressed by Newton last night. That is the 4th time I saw him this year and each time I was left with the impression he is a very immature kid, and will have many of the same "tempermental" problems that Vince Young has. Newton, like Young, has been told how great he is since he was a kid. Has been treated like he is a God. That changes in the NFL. You may get coddled the 1st year in the league a little bit, but if you don't produce you then get treated just like everyone else. That has not worked out for VY and I can foresee a similar fate happening to Newton. Mallet just looks like another guy with a strong but inaccurate arm downfield. Don't we have a guy like that already ?
i seriously doubt that the JILLS would take Newton .... Fitz is actually can be what they need. And very doubtful that CAR takes a WR #1 ....
Don't get your hopes up. This years QB class is deep but the guys at the top aren't must haves. So gambling and drafting a QB in the 15th spot is a sure fire way to put the franchise even deeper in a hole. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ankings-the-deep-class-of-quarterbacks#page/1
Because they always get every break Togo their way to win a game! Sorry gotta go I hear Pryor is on his way to University Pawn and Loan and I want to buy his Sugar Bowl Ring!
Two things. This. But, I'd say more, if Gabbert falls near 10, we have to try to move up to get him. The problem is, with out a 2nd round pick, Miami has no ammo. So, they can't get into top 10. Second, I think this Sun-Sentinel mock draft is a classic "wish dream" that local reporters and fans do all the time. We'll see this from now until April 28th (or whenever the date of the draft). The Dolphins need a QB and subconsciously we tend to frame a draft so that players fall just-so. The fact is, the Titans will be seriously looking at Gabbert and Mallett. So, too, the Redskins & 49ers, along with the Vikings. The Dolphins have six teams with a definitive need at QB drafting ahead of them (not including the Bills): Carolina, Cards, 49ers, Titans, 'Skins, Vikings. There are 3, maybe 4 QBs who are likely to be first round picks (in another year, Locker would probably fall to the 2nd round; but not this year). Imo, Locker is the most likely to be available b/c of his terrible play this year. Gabbert and Newton will almost certainly be gone. Mallett and Locker could get closer but still are not likely to be there. Tough call to rate these QBs - all of them look great at times, sometimes they look bad. My instinctive ranking: 1) Gabbert; 2) Newton; 3) Locker; 4) Mallett. Could change but I think there is a bit of a gap between the first two and the last two.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say you can cross the 49ers off the list. I am betting Harbaugh turns Smith into a legit starting QB. It may have taken 5yrs, but Smith now has someone who knows QBs!
I have to agree. I've watched these guys play and IMO, the only reason anyone wants them is because of the position they play. This is not a good year to draft a QB. Henne is better than all of them combined, in spite of Henning and Lee. I would NEVER say that if Luck were an option.
I agree that the Harbaugh/Smith pairing can potentially be very good for both of them. I don't see Smith as having elite QB potential, but in the right system I could see him having a Cassel like season.
If they are going to take a QB with their first pick in the draft. I would rather see the Dolphins trade the pick for Kolb than to pick either Mallett or Locker. I don't think either Mallett or Locker will be the upgrade the Dolphins need at the quarterback position. Kolb on the other hand would be a definite upgrade over Henne.
I for one hope the Fins go after Nic Grigsby in the 3rd or 4th round. He is very explosive, fast and can make some of the quickest cuts I've seen in a while. I'm from Arizona and watched him his whole career, and let me tell you he will be a bargain in the 4th round. I personally see him going in the 3rd, not only is he a highly explosive RB but he also is a pretty damn good returner as well. I called it last year with Rob Gronkowski, and people here said he sucked......lol!! Too bad we didn't take Rob when we could, that dude will be one of the best TE in the league for years to come. Hope this year Ireland and Sparano at least take a look in Grigsby's direction. Could make a big impact on our offense!!
