1-Is the problem talent? Is the problem instead getting up for games? They lost to the Browns, Bills, and Lions. Three teams with less talent.

2-Sparano..........hmm...how does the league, his peers, see Sparano? Lets see....Fox, Frasier, Garrett, we know some team would have taken a chance on those guys to be their head coach if they were avaliable. Who would have picked up Sparano? Anyone? Anyone? Maybe in college.

3-Who is getting better on this team? Marshall did not have a good season for the standards he set elsewhere. The RBs underachieved. Did not play well despite the hype. Sparano is a specialist on OL, right? it is his expertise. Shambles...with only Long showing progress. Vonte got better. Dansby was the same as he was in Arizona. Bess got a little better. But overall, position by position, only Wake showed pro bowl talent.

Coaches are more of the problem than players and structure of responsibility between both FO and Coaching staff is also to loose to require each person live up to theirs!

Nolan has Defensive side down pat and the core of staff there does great with the players they are given.

well lets see. in the Lions game Tony once again got conservative when up 6 or 7 and it cost him again. i suppose the Steelers game taught him nothing. we can start there in terms of problems............

One point I disagree is that the Lions have less talent. They need to upgrade at some positions but they have alot of talent, they should with the draft position they have hade in the past.

Personally I don't think that the talent on the Dolphins is really very good. On the offense, the only players staring for the Dolphins who could start for anyone of the playoff teams is, Jake Long, and Brandon Marshall. The rest of the starters on the offense would be no better than back-ups on most teams in the NFL or not even good enough to make the teams. On the defense, Wake, Dansby, Davis,
and possibly Soliai, Bell, and Langford could be starters on on most teams in the NFL. Again, the rest of the defensive starters would be no more than back-ups at best, on most NFL rosters. So basically I think that the Dolphins really only have about eight players total on offense and defense who are quality starters in the NFL. To me the problem with the Dolphins is the severe lack of talent on the entire roster. It is going to take at least 3 more drafts to improve this team to the level where they can compete against the best teams in the NFL. Hopefully these next three drafts will be more productive drafts than the previous three drafts conducted by Ireland and Parcells.

In my observations, I have found that for the most part, with very very rare exceptions, coaches do NOT learn. If their gameplans don't work, they blame it on execution. That's why I have no problem with a revolving door at coach until you find the right one, because if you have the WRONG one, the odds are very, very good that he will NOT get better. Some do, most of them younger guys, but most are pretty stuck in their ways.
