Well....the Bills did beat the Dolphins to eliminate them from the playoffs...but that was a mere week after handing the Jets a loss @ home when their playoff spot was not assured. I know Billy Boy is not too popular around here, but I tend to agree with him that you are what your record says you are.

The dolphins are in a spot right now that can go one of two ways. We can make the right moves this offseason and be a force in te league for the next 4-8 years or we can make the wrong moves and be the joke of the league for the next 4-8 years.

I keep hearing about the Patriots and their draft picks. And you know what? That really doesn't scare me that much. Not because of Belichik's suspect record when it comes to drafting, but sadly because they're already such a good team. I think the degree they can get better because of a strong draft is pretty minimal. Their system is such that it makes good players look great, so a few good draft picks only marginally improve their already great team.

Unfortunately that means, if I'm right, we still have a LONG way to go to catch up.

Comment from this article:"can't agree the Bills are in better shape than the Fins... sorry. I sound like a broken record, but this team with a new OC and some speed on O will be vastly improved next year. We were one D-line, gimme interception away from sweeping the Jets and had the hardest first 10 games to start the season I've seen in a while... we were 6-5 after oakland and had a real shot... unfortunately our offensive philosophy had beaten the confidence out of our QB by then and we sunk when we should have swam... to bad obviously but I'm not on the "oh my god, we're terrible forever" bandwagon"I agree with what this guy wrote...

Belichek isnt going to use all of those those picks, he's going to flip them into picks in next years draft, when the rookie wage scale sets in. Guy is a friggin genius.

    A 7-9 team has fallen behind a 4-12 team?

A team with 25 wins over the last three years has fallen behind a team with 17?

A team with a Top 5 defense has fallen behind a team with a Bottom 5 defense?

    DOES NOT COMPUTE

One of the comments at the bottom of the page read, and I'm paraphrasing...this offseason, depending on what we do, we'll become a power house for the next 4-7 years or a joke for the next 4-7 years.

I can agree with that statement.

Yeah but what has made them successful long term is that they've mastered the salary cap system.

Jettisoning aging players for a bounty of picks in every draft.
They don't let players go without getting something in return.

The danger of this Patriots draft isn't necessarily the "immediate" upgrade of the team.
It's that they have a yet another slew of young high draft picks that will allow them to trade off more vets in their prime for more draft picks and never skip a beat.

At this rate the Patriots will NEVER go away.

former patriot? so they're Dolphins greats only when they say something you agree with? you weren't even born the last time he played for us, let alone his last year w/the pats.

anyway, they have every right to voice their opinions and based on the qb position the jills are ahead of us.

Do you remember the time that former Dolphin Thurman Thomas couldn't find his helmet in the Superbowl?

don't agree fully with this ....

1 - the JESTS are not soo appreciably better than us - our defense is quite on par, and will be even better next year (as long as we resign our needed FAs)

2 - really the JILLS .... not so fast .... Fitz is a gunslinger - i'll give him that, but with a little better battery of playmakers and an improved OL - our offense opens right up.

3 - PATSIES, well - plain and simple, until Brady leaves -- we can't compete on paper with him - but in all else, we really aren't that far off.

Make 4 changes in our team: give us Matthews at OLB and move Misi inside, give us Mankins at G and Incognito at C, give us a capable RB (I'll even go with Benson) and a speedy WR and we could compete with Brady and CO - everyday of the week ..... of course, Matthews at OLB isn't even a possibility -- but the rest are .... and can be done THIS offseason.

this is not a fledgling exercise anymore ....

Billycheat is not the best at drafting in the first two rounds. Not that he is terrible by any means. He knows the talent that fits his schemes and he'll trade away a pick if he can get a player that fits.

He is very good at the bottom of the draft. But he is a master with undrafted players. There are like 22 undrafted players on their roster. Amazing

The Bills? Ahh! The only thing they have going for them over Miami right now is the Qb. Like Henne, or hate him, it's not even an argument. Fitz has been better and it's because of their HC. He is excellent with Qb's. One can argue till he is blue in the face but with Henne, he had either been bad or his being coached up has been worse. So we cannot say he would be any better if he had some speed, or a coach, or a system. Until that happens, if it ever does, we can only go on what was....

i knew the old guys on the board would get bent out of shape over this. he played basically the same ammount of years on the boston patriots, and walked on the field for them recently with a patriots jersey on being on a "all decade team" for them......he can get bent

i get the joke, but its not relevant....thurman thomas played 1 year for us, and never was on a all-decade team for us....close to being funny though. i giggled.
